1.1 Kiteboarden: Gefahren & Risiken
Kiteboarding: hazards & risks
Grundsätzlich gilt: Lass dich professionell schulen, wenn
du Kitesurfen erlernst. Und: Lass immer Vorsicht walten,
wenn du das vorliegende Produkt benutzt.
Verwende dieses Produkt nur, wenn du dich in guter
physischer und psychischer Verfassung befindest.
Aus Sicherheitsgründen sollten SPLEENE-Kites nur
auf/über dem Wasser benutzt werden. Wenn du dieses
Produkt verwendest, bist du sowohl für deine als auch
für die Sicherheit anderer verantwortlich.
Verwende stets die deinem Können und den Windver-
hältnissen entsprechende Kitegröße.
Kalkuliere immer ein, dass Böen lebensgefährlich sein
können. Eine eventuell angegebene Windrange ist un-
verbindlich.
Gehe niemals kiten, wenn sich Hindernisse in Lee befin-
den. Und: Gehe niemals bei auf- oder ablandigen Wind-
bedingungen kiten.
The basic rule is: Get professionally trained when you
learn to kitesurf. And: Always be careful when using this
product.
Only use this product if you are in good physical and
mental condition.
For safety reasons, SPLEENE kites should only be used
on/above water. If you use this product, you are respon-
sible for both – your own safety and the safety of others.

Always use the right kite size appropriate to your skills
and wind conditions.
Always calculate that gusts can be life-threatening. Any
wind range indicated is not binding.
Never go kiting if there are obstacles in leeward direc-
tion. And: Never go kiting in onshore or offshore wind
conditions.
1.2 Risikovermutung
Assumption of risk
Die Verwendung des vorliegenden SPLEENE Kiteboar-
ding Produkts und seiner Bestandteile beherbergt ge-
wisse Gefahren einer Verletzung am Körper oder gar
Tötung des Benutzers oder Dritter.
Mit der Verwendung des SPLEENE Kiteboarding Pro-
dukts stimmst du zu, sämtliche bekannten und unbe-
kannten, wahrscheinlichen und unwahrscheinlichen
Verletzungsrisiken auf dich zu nehmen und zu akzep-
tieren.
Die mit Ausübung dieser Sportart verbundenen Gefah-
ren lassen sich durch die Beachtung der Warnhinweise
in dieser Bedienungsanleitung sowie der im Einzelfall
gebotenen Sorgfalt reduzieren.
Die diesem Sport innewohnenden Risiken können zu ei-
nem großen Teil reduziert werden, wenn man sich so-
wohl an die Warnrichtlinien, die in dieser Gebrauchsan-
weisung aufgelistet sind, als auch an den gesunden
Menschenverstand hält.

By using this SPLEENE Kiteboarding product, you agree
to assume and accept all known and unknown, proba-
ble and unlikely risks of injury.
The risks associated with the practice of this sport can
be reduced by observing the warnings in this manual
and by exercising due care in each individual case.
The risks inherent in this sport can be greatly reduced
by following both the warning guidelines listed in this
manual and common sense.
1.3 Befreiung von Haftung und Verzicht auf Ansprüche

Hiermit erklärst du, dass du – vor Verwendung des SPLEENE
Kiteboarding Produkts – die gesamte Gebrauchsanweisung
(folgende Bedienungsanleitung und Anleitung unter
www.spleene.com), einschließlich aller Anweisungen und Warn-
hinweise, gelesen und verstanden hast.
Bei Weitergabe an Dritte: Darüber hinaus erklärst du, dafür
Sorge zu tragen, dass – bevor du die Benutzung deines
SPLEENE Kiteboarding Produkts einer anderen Person gestat-
test – dieser andere Benutzer (der das Produkt endgültig oder
zeitlich befristet von dir übernimmt) die gesamte Gebrauchs-
anweisung des SPLEENE Kiteboarding Produkts (einschließlich
aller Anweisungen und Warnhinweise, die in dieser Bedie-
nungsanleitung enthalten sind) gelesen und verstanden hat.
Durch den Abschluss des Kaufvertrages über ein SPLEENE
Kiteboarding Produkt erklärst du dich mit folgenden Punkten –
innerhalb der gesetzlichen Richtlinien – einverstanden:

Komponenten, die du jetzt oder in Zukunft gegen

a.m.sports GmbH und alle anderen Vertragspartner ha-
ben wirst.
DIE ENTBINDUNG der a.m.sports GmbH und allen ande-
ren Vertragspartnern von jedweden Ansprüchen bezüg-
lich Verlust, Schäden, Verletzung oder Ausgaben, die du,
deine nächsten Angehörigen und Verwandten oder jed-
weder andere Benutzer des SPLEENE Kiteboarding Pro-
dukts erleiden können, die sich aus der Verwendung des
SPLEENE Kiteboarding Produkts ergeben, einschließlich
der aus Gesetz oder Vertrag ergebenden Haftung seitens
der a.m.sports GmbH und alle seiner Komponenten. Mit
Eintritt des Todes oder der Erwerbsunfähigkeit treten
alle hier angeführten Bestimmungen in Kraft und binden
auch Ihre Erben, nächsten Angehörigen und Verwand-
ten, Nachlass- und Vermögensverwalter, Rechtsnachfol-
ger oder gesetzliche Vertreter.
SPLEENE Kiteboarding und alle anderen Vertragspartner
haben keine anderen mündlichen oder schriftlichen Dar-
stellungen abgegeben und dementieren ausdrücklich,
dass dies getan wurde (mit Ausnahme dessen, was hie-
rin und in der Bedienungsanleitung des SPLEENE Kite-
boarding Produkts aufgeführt ist).
You hereby declare that before using the SPLEENE Kiteboarding
product you have read and understood the entire SPLEENE Kite-
boarding product instructions for use (the following manual and
manuals under www.spleene.com), including all instructions
and warnings.
When passed on to third parties: In addition, you agree to en-
sure that before you hand your SPLEENE Kiteboarding product
to any other person, that other user (who takes over the prod-
uct from you permanently or temporarily) has read and under-
stood the entire SPLEENE Kiteboarding product manual (includ-
ing all instructions and warnings contained in this manual).

By entering into a purchase agreement for a SPLEENE Kite-
boarding product, you agree to the following, within the legal
guidelines:
TO WAIVE ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, arising from the use
of the SPLEENE Kiteboarding product and any of its com-
ponents that you may have now or in the future against
a.m.sports GmbH and any other party to the contract.
THE RELEASE of a.m.sports GmbH and any other party
from any claims for loss, damage, injury or expense that
you, your immediate family and relatives or any other
user of the SPLEENE Kiteboarding product may suffer as
a result of using the SPLEENE Kiteboarding product, in-
cluding the liability of a.m.sports GmbH and any of its
components under any law or contract. Upon death or
incapacity to work, all provisions herein shall be effective
and binding upon your heirs, close relatives, estate and
asset managers, successors in title or legal representa-
tives.
SPLEENE Kiteboarding and all other contracting parties
have made no other oral or written representations and
expressly deny that they have done so (except as pro-
vided herein and in the SPLEENE Kiteboarding product
manual).

2 Überblick SPLEENE X-BAR
Overview SPLEENE X-BAR
Die SPLEENE X-BAR ist eine klassische 4-Leiner-Bar und wird
fertig für den Gebrauch ausgeliefert. Die Bar kann direkt abge-
wickelt und an den Kite angeknüpft werden.
The SPLEENE X-BAR is a classic 4-line-bar and is delivered
ready to use. The bar can be unwound directly and attached to
the kite.
2.1 Befestigung der Leinen am Kite

Die Leinenenden der X-BAR sind so gestaltet, dass ein falsches
Anknüpfen der Leinen vermieden wird. Die Leinen sind farblich
gekennzeichnet und die abwechselnde Anordnung der Schlau-
fen bzw. Knoten lassen nur eine mögliche Verbindung zu.
The line ends of the X-BAR are designed to avoid wrong attach-
ing of the lines to the kite. The lines are colour coded and the
arrangement of the loops and knots allow only one possible
connection.

2.2 Extensions
Extensions
Die X-BAR hat eine Leinenlänge von 20,5 Metern plus zusätzli-
chen 3 Meter Extensions. Die Extensions sind direkt montiert
und geben dir eine Leinenlänge von 23,5 m. Je nach Vorliebe,
Style und Kite kannst du so immer das optimale Setup fahren.
Dank der einfachen Loop/Loop Verbindung kannst du auch wei-
tere Extensions einbauen.
The X-BAR has a line length of 20.5 metres plus additional 3
metre extensions. The extensions are already attached and give
you a line length of 23.5 m. Depending on preference, style and
kite you can always ride the optimal setup. Thanks to the simple
loop/loop connection you can also add further extensions.
2.3 Single Frontline Safety
Single frontline safety
Der Kite ist nach dem Auslösen des Quick Release durch eine
Halteleine (Single-Frontline-Safety) mit dem Kiter über die
short leash verbunden. Der Kite weht damit drucklos an nur
einer Frontleine aus. Mit diesem Sicherheitssystem bringst du
den Kite drucklos zum Boden.

The kite is still connected with a holding line via the short leash
to the kiter after releasing the quick release (Single-Frontline-
Safety). The kite blows out without pressure on only one front
line. With this safety system you bring the kite to the ground
without pressure.
2.4 Short Leash
Short leash
Die Short Leash wird an einer vorgesehenen Stelle am Trapez
des Kiters befestigt. Für die Montage muss die Short Leash
„ausgelöst“ / geöffnet werden. Mittels Nutzung der Schlaufe
kann die Befestigung einfach erfolgen. Im Anschluss kann die
Short Leash wieder zusammengebaut werden.
The short leash is attached to the harness of the kite at a des-
ignated point. The short leash must be "released" / opened for
assembly. By using the loop, the attachment can be done eas-
ily. The short Leash can then be reassembled.
