This manual intended for use by trained system and service engineers describes the information (Block

diagrams, schematic diagrams, Parts list and etc.) required for parts-level service.

1-2. Installation Procedure

Outline of the installing the CBK-MB01 to the DVW-970/970P is listed as follows. For the details of the

installation work, refer to the respective sections.

When removing or installing the plug-in board, be careful not to damage the parts on circuit board, not to

insert the boards in the wrong slot and not to insert the boards in wrong directions.

Opening

Be sure to set the POWER switch to OFF, unplug the

power cord or remove the battery before starting any of the

following procedure to protect inside of the unit from

damage.

1. Loosen the four screws (with drop-safe) and open the

inside panel assembly in the direction of the arrow.

.The flexible card wire that is connected to the FP-

148 board, will be significantly shortened of its life

if it is folded. Be very careful not to fold the flexible

card wire.

.Stand the unit in the posture that the POWER switch

side faces upward when the inside panel assembly is

opened.

Closing

1. Check that the hinges in the right and left are engaged

securely with the hooks of the chassis.

2. Insert the inside panel assembly and tighten the four

screws (with drop-safe).

Standard tightening torque :

Screw (with drop-safe, B3 x12)

0.8 N.m (8.0 kgf.cm)

Be careful not to pinch the harness between the inside

panel assembly and the chassis.

Removal

Open the inside panel assembly. (Refer to Section 1-3.)

2. Disconnect the coaxial cable from the connector

(CN10) of the DCP-38 board. (When the CBK-SD01

is installed, disconnect the coaxial cable from the

connector (CN1) of the DIF-147 board.)

To disconnect the coaxial cable, do not attempt to

disconnect it by pulling the coaxial cable with force.

Be sure to hold the plug and disconnect the cable.

3. Remove the screw (B2.6 x5) and the filter cover.

4. Disconnect the board-to-board connector that comes

from the DCP-38 board, and open the CN-2437 board

in the direction of the arrow.

5. Remove the harnesses from the connectors (CN1, CN3

and CN4) of the VA-228 board.

6. Remove the two screws (B2.6 x5).

7. Open the board lever in the direction of arrow A, and

disconnect the board-to-board connector that is

connected to the MB-1032 board.

8. Raise the DCP board assembly about 10 mm in the

direction of arrow B, and align the recessed portion of

the DCP-38 board with the protruded portion of the

board holder.

9. Slant the DCP board assembly to the front and remove

it.

Reinstallation

1. Reinstall the DCP board assembly by reversing the

steps 4 to 9 of removal.

.Route the harnesses coming from the connectors

(CN1, CN3 and CN4) of the VA-228 board so that

they do not jump out of the surface (the surface

shown by the arrow) on the VA-228 board.

.Route the harnesses so that it is positioned in the

recessed portion of the DCP-38 board.

2. Continue reinstallation of the DCP board assembly by

reversing the steps 2 to 3 of removal.

.When installing the filter cover, route the harness

(MA) connected from the CN-2437 board to the SE-

803 board so that it passes near the screw that

secures the upper end of the DCP-38 board. At that

time, ensure that the harness (MA) passes between

the guides at the upper right and left of the filter

cover.

.After the CN-2437 board is reinstalled, rotate the

filter knob in both directions to confirm that it is not

caught by the harness (MA).

.Be careful that the harness must not be pitched

between the inside panel and the chassis.

3. Close the inside panel. (Refer to Section 1-3.)

Tightening torque :

Removal step 6, DCP board assembly (B2.6 screw): 53 x

10-2 ±0.01 N.m (5.3 ±0.1 kgf.cm)

Open the inside panel assembly. (Refer to Section 1-3.)

Remove the DCP board assembly. (Refer to Section 1-4.)

3. Disconnect the flexible card wire from the EQ-88

board connector (CN101).

.Life of flexible card wire will be significantly

shortened if it is folded. Be very careful not to fold

the flexible card wire.

.If the copper plating of the base material exposes

due to wear of the tin plated contact of the connec-

tor, replace it with the new flexible card wire.

4. Open the board lever in the direction of arrow A and

remove the board-to-board connector that is connected

to the MB-1032 board.

5. Raise the DVP board assembly in the direction of arrow

B by about 15 mm and align the protruded portion of the

board holder (F) with the recessed portion of the DVP-

34 board.

Slant the DVP board assembly to the front and remove it.

1-6. Installing the CBK-MB01

(MY-113 Board)

Install the CBK-MB01 to the side-A of the DVP-34 board.

Installation Procedure

1. Insert the connector (CN101) of the CBK-MB01 (MY-

113 board) into the connector (CN101) on the DVP-34

board firmly.

2. Attach the CBK-MB01 with the two precision screws

(P1.4 x3.5) supplied.

Standard tightening torque value :

12 x10_2N.m (1.2 kgf.cm)

Reinstallation

1. Raise the board lever to its upright position.

2. Insert the DVP board assembly in a slant angle until

the protruded portion of the PC board holder (F) meets

the recessed portion of the DVP-34 board. At the

above angle, raise

the DVP board assembly in the right

angle and insert it.

3. When shaft of the board lever enters into the chassis,

slant the board lever and push down the board from its

top until it is firmly inserted to the board-to-board

connector of the MB-1032 board.

4. Reinstall it by reversing the steps of disassembling.
