INSTRUCTIONS
Dear Customer,
Congratulations on your purchase of the SOBA pressure steam ironing station.
Please read these Instructions before using the ironing station for the first time. They
contain a lot of useful information.
IMPORTANT
Water
Please read the enclosed fact sheet about the kalkex12 rapid water softener. Use
ordinary tap water. If the water is very hard (water hardness over 27° dH) we
recommend using de-mineralised water. The steam generator system could be
damaged by using water treated by another system. e.g. by using softening and
water preparation equipment, incorrectly introduced filters or by using additives. This
could cause leakage and soiling of the ironing.
Starting up for the first time
A trace of smoke may form when heating up for the first time. This disappears after a
few minutes. We recommend that you start ironing with the less sensitive fabrics.
Rest surface for iron
The iron should always be put down on the iron rest surface(11). Do not place it on
rough surfaces.

SETTING UP THE PRESSURE STEAM IRONING STATION
•
Check that the socket has a protected earthing connection and that the current
and fuses (at least 10 A) correspond to specifications plate on the station.
•
If the plug does not comply with your power supply, have it changed by a
qualified electrician.
•
The electric safety of the appliance is only guaranteed when it is connected to a
correctly earthed connection according to official standards. If you are in doubt,
consult your electrician.
•
The pressure steam ironing station should not be moved while it is in operation.
It is essential that it be set up on a surface that is not susceptible to high
temperatures.
STARTING UP
Tips/Safety Precautions
•
This appliance is only intended for conventional domestic use. Every other use is
inappropriate and dangerous.
•
Never touch the appliance with wet or damp hands.
•
Never use the appliance in the bathroom.
•
Never pull the plug out of the socket by tugging at the cable,
•
Never expose the appliance to the elements e.g. rain, sun, ice etc.
•
Do not let children use the ironing station; they cannot recognise the inherent
dangers of handling electrical devices.
•
Never immerse the appliance in water.
•
Never expose the appliance to frost.
•
Leads and cables must not come into contact with the hot iron.
•
Do not direct the steam towards people or animals (danger of scalding). Avoid
steam contact with unprotected skin.
•
Switch off (On/Off switch) when not in use and unplug from the mains.
•
Do not leave the appliance switched on unnecessarily.
•
The iron must not be left unattended while it is connected to the mains supply.
•
The plug must be removed from the socket before water is poured into the water
reservoir.
•
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a qualified electrician to
ensure safety.
•
The filling cap is also a safety pressure device. Never replace it with any other
cap.
•
The ironing station may give off steam and/or boiling water. ALWAYS wait for the
tank to cool down to room temperature before opening the filling cap. This will
take
AT LEAST 15 MINUTES
after normal operation.

Ironing with Steam
•
Check that the garment you want to iron is suitable for steam ironing.
•
Screw off the tank cap (10) and pour in 1 litre of water.
•
Screw on the tank cap (10) and plug in to the mains (13).
•
Press the steam pressure station button (1) and the iron button (2).
•
Adjust the thermostat dial (6) to the required temperature. The steam range is
marked in blue on the thermostat dial.
•
The pressure steam unit reaches optimum ironing pressure in 10 minutes.
•
The "steam ready" light (4) lights up when the unit is ready to start ironing. It is
perfectly normal for the lamp to switch off again. The "steam ready" light switches
off and on while you are ironing without affecting the ironing in anyway.
•
Suits and jackets can be ironed or freshened up on the hanger when using this
pressure steam ironing station.
Steam volume control dial (5), steam jet button (8) and continuous steam
button (9)
•
Press the steam jet button (8) for steam pressure. Click in the continuous steam
button (9) for a steady flow of steam.
•
Press the steam jet button (8) repeatedly, at short intervals, to let the steam out
of the iron and allow the ironing to dry.
•
The desired steam volume can be set with the steam volume switch (5). Turning
clockwise increases the steam volume, turning anticlockwise reduces the
steam.
•
If the "tank empty" lamp (3) the water reservoir is empty and must be topped
up.
Continuing to iron, without topping up with water, can damage the
steam system.
Ironing Vertically
Suits and jackets can be ironed or freshened up on the hanger using this pressure
steam ironing station.
•
Set the thermostat dial on the iron (6) to maximum temperature.
•
Hang the garment on a clothes hanger and hold it lightly with one hand.
•
Press the steam jet button (8) and pass the iron from top to bottom along the
material.
Important:
pass the sole direct along the material for cottons and linens. On the
contrary, for delicate fabrics the sole of the iron should be kept several centimetres
away from the material.
Ironing without steam
Connect the unit to the mains, press the iron On/Off switch (2). Select the required
temperature with the thermostat dial (6). The control light (7) goes out as soon as
the required temperature is reached. The steam jet button should not be pressed
when ironing without steam.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
•
Switch off after use and remove the plug from the socket.
•
Always allow the iron to cool before putting it away.
•
The water reservoir need not be emptied after ironing.
•
Wipe the casing (12) from time to time with a damp cloth and rub dry.
Cleaning the sole
•
When you have finished ironing place the iron on the rest. Take care that there
are no traces of condensation under the sole plate as this could cause staining.
•
Simply wipe the cold sole plate with a damp cloth to keep it clean. Descaling
agents should not be used to clean the appliance.
•
The iron should not be run over zips, buttons, rings, eyes etc. to prevent
scratching the sole plate.
Cleaning the pressure steam unit
It is advisable to rinse out the steam pressure unit from time to time. Do not use
anything but water in the steam pressure unit (never detergents). All liability is
excluded if the instructions are not followed.
Do not screw off the tank cap until the pressure unit is no longer under
pressure.
•
Make sure the mains plug has been disconnected.
•
Unscrew the reservoir safety cap (10).
•
Turn the steam unit upside down and empty it into the sink. This will let the
deposits run off with the water.
•
Screw the tank cap (10) back on.

Sehr geehrte Kundin, sehr geehrter Kunde
Wir gratulieren Ihnen zum Kauf der Druckdampf-Bügelstation SOBA.
Bitte lesen Sie diese Anleitung vor der ersten Inbetriebnahme, Sie finden darin viele
nützliche Informationen.
WICHTIGE HINWEISE
Wasser
Beachten Sie bitte das beiliegende Merkblatt über den Schnellentkalker kalkex12.
Verwenden Sie normales Leitungswasser. Bei sehr kalkhaltigem Wasser (Wasserhärte
über 27° dH) raten wir Ihnen zum Gebrauch von entmineralisiertem Wasser. Es
können Störungen am Verdampfungssystem entstehen, wenn anderweitig veränder-
tes Wasser gebraucht wird. Z.B. bei Verwendung von Enthärtungs- und Wasseraufbe-
reitungsanlagen, durch falsch eingesetzte Filter oder Beigabe von Zusätzen. Dies
kann zu Wasseraustritt und Wäscheverschmutzungen führen.
Erste Inbetriebnahme
Beim ersten Aufheizen kann eine leichte Rauchbildung auftreten. Dieser Vorgang
verliert sich nach einigen Minuten. Wir empfehlen daher, als erstes mit dem Bügeln
von nicht empfindlichem Bügelgut zu beginnen.
Abstellfläche für Bügeleisen
Das Bügeleisen sollte immer auf die Abstellfläche (11) gestellt werden. Keine rauen
Untersetzer benutzen.

ANGABEN ZUR AUFSTELLUNG DER DRUCKDAMPF-BÜGELSTATION
•
Achten Sie darauf, dass die Steckdose mit Schutzleiteranschluss versehen ist und
die Spannung, sowie die Absicherung (mindestens 10 A) mit dem Typenschild am
Gerät übereinstimmen.
•
Stecker durch eine Fachperson auswechseln lassen, sollte er nicht mit Ihrer
Steckdose übereinstimmen.
•
Die elektrische Sicherheit des Gerätes ist nur garantiert, wenn es an einen
Schutzleiteranschluss gemäss den Normvorschriften angeschlossen ist. Im
Zweifelsfalle konsultieren Sie eine Fachperson.
•
Die Druckdampf-Bügelstation darf während dem Gebrauch nicht umgestellt
werden. Es muss unbedingt auf eine, für hohe Temperaturen geeignete, Unter-
lage gestellt werden.
INBETRIEBNAHME
Hinweise/Sicherheitsvorschriften
•
Dieses Gerät ist nur für den haushaltüblichen Gebrauch bestimmt. Jede ander-
weitige Verwendung ist ungeeignet und gefährlich.
•
Das Gerät nie mit nassen oder feuchten Händen anfassen.
•
Das Gerät nie im Badezimmer verwenden.
•
Den Stecker nie am Kabel aus der Steckdose ziehen.
•
Das Gerät nie Witterungseinflüssen wie Regen, Sonne, Eis usw. aussetzen.
•
Das Gerät darf nicht von Kindern benutzt werden, sie erkennen die Gefahren
nicht, die beim Umgang mit Elektrogeräten entstehen können.
•
Gerät nie in Wasser tauchen.
•
Gerät nie Frost aussetzen.
•
Anschlussleitungen dürfen nicht mit dem heissen Bügeleisen in Berührung
kommen.
•
Den Dampfstrom nicht auf Personen oder Tiere richten (Verbrennungsgefahr).
Direkten Dampfkontakt mit der ungeschützten Haut meiden.
•
Ist das Gerät nicht im Gebrauch, die Ein-Aus-Schalter betätigen und Netzstecker
ziehen. Das Gerät nicht unnötigerweise eingeschaltet lassen.
•
Das Bügeleisen nie unbeaufsichtigt lassen, wenn es am Stromnetz angeschlossen ist!
•
Den Netzstecker stets vom Stromnetz trennen, bevor der Wasserbehälter auf-
oder nachgefüllt wird!
•
Um Unfälle zu verhüten, darf ein defektes Stromkabel nur von einer qualifizierten
Fachperson ersetzt werden.
•
Der Verschluss des Wasserbehälters ist ein Drucksicherheitsverschluss. Diesen
nie durch einen anderen Verschluss auswechseln!
•
Es können Dampf und kochendes Wasser aus dem Gerät austreten. Den
Verschluss des Wasserbehälters ERST ÖFFNEN, wenn der Wasserbehälter auf
Raumtemperatur abgekühlt ist. Im Normalfall dauert dies
MINDESTENS 15 MIN
.
