OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
BATTERY INSTALLATION
The digital level uses two “AAA” alkaline
batteries to power the LCD module display.
1. Open the battery cover, located in the back
of the level.
2. Insert two new “AAA” alkaline batteries with
the polarity (+/-) as indicated on the inside of
the battery compartment.
3. Replace the cover and close it securely.
NOTE:
• Always turn off the tool before installing or
replacing batteries.
• Remove the batteries from the tool when not
using it for extended periods.
• The 2 AAA batteries should match each other in brand and type.
• Do not mix old and new batteries.
• Remove depleted batteries immediately, and dispose of them according to the laws and
regulations governing your community.
To turn the digital level on and off
Press and hold the Power Button for about 2 seconds to turn the digital level on. The current
angle of the digital level is then displayed.
To turn off the digital level, press and hold the button for about 2 seconds.
NOTE: The digital level will automatically turn off to save power when it has been still for 5
minutes.
Unit conversion
The Unit-Conversion/Audio Button allows the selection of degrees (°), slope percent
(%), pitch (IN/FT), or pitch (mm/m). Press the button for no more than 1 second to scroll
among the units.
Pitch readings displayed in IN/FT are displayed in 1/8-inch/foot increments. Plus and minus
signs indicate that the pitch is slightly more (+) or less (-) than the pitch shown on the display.
NOTE: The Unit-Conversion/Audio Button also be used to convert units while the
saved measurements from memory are displayed. This feature is a convenient way to convert
angles from one unit to another. For example, a 5 IN/FT. roof pitch measurement can be
converted to 22.6° for setting up cuts on a chop saw.
NOTE: The tool defaults to degrees (°) before the rst use. After the unit converts a
measurement to another unit, the tool will automatically save the selected unit setting;
subsequent measurements and the saved measurements will be displayed in the selected unit
even after the tool is restarted, until another unit is selected.

Absolute-angle measurement
1. Press the Power Button to turn on the digital
level. Place the digital level on a working
surface with the Angle Base at against the
surface. The display indicates the absolute
angle between the working surface and true
level (FIG.3).
2. To level the working surface, move the
surface with the tool on it until the angle
readout is 0.0°.
3. To plumb the working surface, move the
surface with the tool on it until the angle
readout is 90.0°.
4. The bubble vials may be referenced to
level or plumb the working surface. When
the bubbles are exactly in the middle of the
marks on the vials, the work surface against
which the tool is pressed is either level or plumb.
NOTE: Arrows display only when the deviation (positive or negative) is within 10 degrees
of 0° and 90°. The height and direction of the arrows on the LCD screen vary according to
the deviation of the angle relative to 0° or 90°. Follow the arrow icons to ne tune the position
of the tool to level or plumb.
Relative-angle measurement
Use the relative-angle measurement to measure the angle difference between two working
surfaces.
1. Place the digital level on the rst working surface with the Angle Base at against the
surface.
2. Turn on the digital level. The LCD screen indicates the absolute angle between true level
and the working surface.
3. Press the Relative-Angle Measurement Button to enter the relative-angle
measurement mode. The current angle will be set to be 0.0° and the LCD will display REF.
4. Place the digital level on the second working surface with the Angle Base at against the
surface; the relative angle between the rst working surface and the second working surface
will be displayed.
5. Press the Relative-Angle Measurement Button again or press the Power Button (no
more than 1 sec) to return to the absolute angle measurement.
NOTE: Arrows will also display at the new reference value 0° and 90° in the same way as
the absolute value 0° and 90° shown in the Absolute- angle measurement.
Fig. 3

9
NOTE: In absolute-angle measurement and relative-angle measurement modes, when the
tool inclines more than approximately 45° forward or backward from vertical, the LCD screen
will indicate “- - - -” (FIG. 4).
Fig. 4
Forward Backward
Audio
Press the Unit-Conversion/Audio Button for more than 1 second to turn the audio on
or off. The audio activation indicator will display in the LCD when the audio is activated.
The tool will beep at 0°, 45° and 90°, with ±1° accuracy, when the audio is activated. When
the deviation (positive or negative) is between 0.1 to 0.5 degree of 0°, 45° or 90°, the tool
will beep a more frequently; from 0.6 to 1.0 degree of 0°, 45° or 90°, the tool will beep less
frequently.
NOTE: The audio will be off before the rst use. If the audio is activated when the tool is
turned off, it will remain active when the tool is turned back on.
Hold
To hold and display the measurement, press the Hold Button when the required measurement
is displayed; the LCD screen will display “H”.
To release the hold, press the Hold Button again.
NOTE: When entering into the relative-angle measurement mode and the icon REF is
displayed, you may press the Hold Button to hold the measurement in the LCD display or to
release the hold. When both the REF and hold functions are activated, press the Relative-
Angle Measurement Button or press the Power Button (no more than 1 second), and
the tool will go back to the initial Absolute-angle measurement without the hold and REF icons.

10
Saves the current reading and display the memory
To save the current reading, press the Save Button . You may save and later display up
to ten values: they may be absolute angle measurements and/or relative angle measurements,
indicated as M1 to M10. Saved relative angle measurements will display with REF preceding
the value. If more than ten results are saved, the oldest remembered measurement (M1) will
be overwritten by the current reading and all the other saved readings will be cleared.
To display the measurements in memory, repeatedly press the Memory Button . The
ten saved measurements will be displayed in sequence, beginning with the most recently
saved measurement together with its corresponding icon reminder M10.
To make a new measurement, press the Memory Button for more than 1 sec or press
the Power Button for no more than 1 sec to return to measuring mode.
NOTE: All the saved readings will be cleared when the digital level is turned off.
