Important safety information beyond the contents of Chapter 1 is prominently

• Children must not be permitted to operate the appliance. The appliance and its
power cord must be kept well away from them.
• This jug blender may be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or
mental capabilities, or lacking experience and knowledge, if they have been

18
GB
• If the appliance is not in use, always remove the power plug from the wall
socket and store the appliance out of reach of children.
• Always remove the plug from the wall socket
- when there is no supervision,
- before assembling or disassembling the appliance,
- before cleaning the appliance.
• Keep any packaging materials well away from children – they are a potential
source of danger, e.g. of suffocation.
1.3 Improper use
This appliance must only be used for puréeing food or crushing ice. Any other
use must be considered improper and may lead to personal injuries or material
damage.
• The appliance is intended for domestic or similar applications, eg in offices
and similar locations. It is not suitable for commercial use, eg in commercial
kitchens.
• The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or
separate remote-control system.
1.4 Electricity
The device is powered by electricity, and so there is always a risk of electric
shock. The following precautions are therefore to be taken:
• This appliance must only be connected to an earthed safety socket installed in
accordance with the regulations.
• The appliance must only be connected to the mains if the voltage marked on
the rating label corresponds to the supply voltage.
• Do not kink or pinch the power cord. Keep both the cord and the appliance
itself well away from heat sources (eg hot-plates, gas flames).
• When removing the plug from the wall socket, never pull on the power cord;
always grip the plug itself. Do not carry the unit by its power cord.

19
• Do not immerse the motor unit in water or any other liquid, do not clean it
under running water and do not put it in a dishwasher.
• Do not touch the plug with wet hands.
• Do not operate the unit outdoors.
• As long as it is connected to the mains, a current is present inside the unit,
even if it is switched off. Always remove the plug from the wall socket after
use.
• In the case of an emergency or malfunction, disconnect the appliance from the
mains immediately. Ensure, therefore, that the plug the appliance is connected
to is accessible and can be removed from the wall socket at any time.
• Always remove the plug from the wall socket before any cleaning or
maintenance work is carried out.
• Do not attempt to open or dismantle the unit, and do not attempt to make any
technical modification.

scarves or shawls, or long, loose hair when operating the appliance.

• Never lick the blades when tasting the food.
• Wait until all parts have come to a complete standstill, and remove the plug
from the wall socket before opening the lid of the jug.
• Always remove the plug from the wall socket when there is no supervision.
• To prevent injury, take special care when handling the jug itself, especially
when emptying or cleaning it.

the ambient temperature can be processed.
• The blender is not designed to process dry food such as coffee beans,
legumes (peas, beans etc), noodles, nuts etc.

Lack of hygiene may result in germs forming inside the appliance:
• To prevent any dried-on food residues collecting inside the appliance, the
motor unit and all its accessory parts must be thoroughly cleaned before it is
used for the first time, and also immediately after each cycle of use.

6Pulse button

9Speed control
10 ON position – unit is switched on
11 OFF position – unit is switched off
4.1 Pulse programme
In this mode, the unit operates at maximum speed as
long as the pulse button ‘P’ is pressed. This programme
is ideally suited for chopping ingredients for a short time
at maximum speed.
4.2 Ice-crushing programme
This button starts the programme for crushing ice cubes.
The appliance starts at maximum speed, then slows
down and returns to maximum speed. This cycle is
repeated until the ice-crushing button is pressed again.
4.3 Smoothie programme
The unit works for 60 seconds at maximum speed. This
programme is ideally suited for preparing smoothies,
as the programme automatically switches off after 1
minute. In this way, any overheating of the ingredients is
avoided, ensuring that valuable nutritious elements are
preserved.
4.4 Speed control
The speed control allows for increasing or reducing the
operating speed. Use a low speed setting for coarse
chopping of the ingredients; for puréeing ingredients,
we recommend using the maximum speed setting.
