Note: Engineers who install such switches for the first time should read the RG-S8600E Series Switch

Hardware Installation and Reference Guide.

Safety notes:

Do not install the device in a moist place and keep the device away from liquid.

Do not wear loose clothes during installation, to avoid hooking components and causing damage. Therefore, fasten

clothes ribbons, scarves, and sleeves.

Place tools and components away from passageways to prevent collision.

Carefully check whether hidden risks exist in the work area, for example, the power supply is not grounded, the

power supply is not grounded securely, or the ground is wet.

Ambient requirements:

Temperature: 0°C to 50°C

Relative humidity: 10% to 90%

Cleanliness: ≤ 1.4 x 105(diameter of dust particles ≥ 5 μm)

Ventilation: 20 cm space is reserved on both sides and around the front and rear panels of the chassis, to ensure

smooth ventilation.

Anti-interference: far away from high-power (such as radars and radio transmitting stations), high-frequency, or

large-current devices

The depth of the cabinet for accommodating an S8610E switch chassis must be greater than or equal to

100 cm. (80cm for S8607E and S8605E).

Whether the installation place meets device ventilation requirements: 20 cm space is reserved on both

sides and around the rear panel of the chassis.

Whether the installation place meets device temperature and relative humidity requirements: temperature

in the range of 0°C to 50°C and relative humidity in the range of 10% to 90%.

Whether the power supply is deployed at the installation place and current requirements are met:

Rated voltage range in the case of AC input: 100-240 V~, 50-60 Hz

Maximum voltage range in the case of AC input: 90-264 V~, 50-60 Hz

Rated voltage range in the case of DC input: -48 V DC

Maximum voltage range in the case of DC input: -36 V DC to -75 V DC

16 Anational standard-compliant power cable (applicable to 1600 W AC power supply) -- pay attention

to the power strip.

10 Anational standard-compliant power cable (applicable to 600 W AC power supply) -- pay attention

to the power strip.

50 ADC power cable (applicable to 1600 W DC power supply)

20 A DC power cable (applicable to 600 W DC power supply)

Whether network cables can be laid out at the installation place.

Conveying: It is recommended that four persons convey the device simultaneously. The empty

chassis (including fans) weighs 104 kg for the S8610E , 30 kg for S807E and 20kg for S8605E.

Notes:

1. Do not hold panels, power module handles, or chassis handles during conveying. They cannot bear the

weight of the device. Holding these positions may cause damage and even personal injuries.

2. Before conveying the device, remove supervisor modules, service modules, and power modules from

the chassis to reduce the weight.

The cabinet depth should be greater

than or equal to 1 m. The distance

between the column mounting bar of

the cabinet and the outer side of the

front cabinet door should be greater

than 180 mm and the thickness of the

front door should be smaller than 25

mm so as to ensure at least 155 mm

available space. In this way, after the

cable management bracket is installed

on the cabinet, the cabinet door can

be closed normally. For some

cabinets with the cabinet depth of 1

m, if the available distance between

the column mounting bar and the

cabinet door is smaller than 155 m,

the cabinet door cannot be closed and

the column mounting bar needs to be

moved backward.
