Co-Pilot 12 & Co-Pilot 24
Quick Start Guide
PLEASE NOTE
The Co-Pilot 12 and Co-Pilot 24 are intended to be used an expansion
unit for the Pilot 12 Plus and Pilot 24 Plus battery platforms, and will
not function as a stand-alone CPAP Battery

Connecting the Co-Pilot
Note: It is important to perform the following steps in order. If
these steps are not performed in the order listed below the Co-
Pilot may emit an error code. To clear this error code please
disconnect all cords from the Co-Pilot and Pilot Plus and then
power cycle the device and follow the instructions as they are
written below.
Uninterruptible Power Supply (Backup Battery)
1. Secure the Co-Pilot and Pilot batteries together using the two
rubber joiners included with the Co-Pilot. Please ensure that
the Pilot battery (not included with Co-Pilot package) is in the
LOWER slot and the Co-Pilot is in the UPPER slot and that the
front of each battery is facing the same direction when joined
together.
2. Connect the OUTPUT port on the Co-Pilot to the CHARGE jack on
the Pilot Plus CPAP battery using the DC Cable that is included
in the Co-Pilot package.

3. Connect the Pilot Plus to your PAP Device using the output
cable that was included with the Pilot Plus.
4. Toggle power switch on Pilot Plus to ON and immediately
afterward toggle power switch on Co-Pilot to ON.
5. Connect the AC adapter to the CHARGE port of the Pilot Plus.
Note: The Pilot-12 Plus can only be used with the AC adapter
included with the battery. Use of other third-party AC
adapters may result in the Pilot-12 Plus emitting an error
code.
Note: The Pilot-24 Plus is designed to use the AC adapter that
is included with the ResMed S9 or ResMed AirSense 10
platform of PAP devices.
6. The Co-Pilot and Pilot Plus system will now provide power to
your PAP device. Refer to the instructions that came with your
PAP device for instructions on how to begin therapy.

Standalone Battery (Travel Battery)
IMPORTANT: Use of heated humidification and/or heated
tubing will significantly decrease the run-time of the Pilot Plus
and Co-Pilot batteries. To maximize you run-time, please either
disconnect your PAP device’s humidifier or ensure that the heat
setting is set to zero.
1. Secure the Co-Pilot and Pilot batteries together using the two
rubber joiners included with the Co-Pilot. Please ensure that
the Pilot battery (not included with Co-Pilot package) is in the
lower slot and the Co-Pilot is in the upper slot and that the
front of each battery is facing the same direction when joined
together.
2. Connect the OUTPUT port on the Co-Pilot to the CHARGE jack on
the Pilot Plus CPAP battery using the DC Cable that is included
in the Co-Pilot package.

3. Connect Pilot Plus CPAP Battery to your CPAP Device using the
correct output cable that came with your Pilot Plus battery.
4. Toggle power switch on Pilot Plus to ON and immediately
afterward toggle power switch on Co-Pilot to ON.
5. The Co-Pilot and Pilot Plus system will now provide power to
your PAP device. Refer to the instructions that came with your
PAP device for instructions on how to begin therapy.
Charging the Co-Pilot as an Uninterruptible Power
Supply (Backup Battery)
The Pilot Plus and Co-Pilot can both be charged at the same time
using a single AC adapter. Connect the appropriate AC adapter to
the CHARGE port of the Co-Pilot. Ensure that the power switch of
the Co-Pilot is toggled to ON.The power switch on the Pilot Plus
can be toggled to either ON or OFF.
Note: In this configuration the Pilot Plus will charge first, the Co-
Pilot will not begin charging until the Pilot Plus has been fully
charged.
Important: The power switch of the Co-Pilot must be ON for
power to be transmitted to the Pilot Plus.
Note: The Pilot-12 Plus can only be used with the AC adapter
included with the battery. Use of other third-party AC adapters
may result in the Pilot-12 Plus emitting an error code.
Note: The Pilot-24 Plus is designed to use the AC adapter that is

included with the ResMed S9 or ResMed AirSense 10 platform of
PAP devices. Use of other third-party AC adapters may result in
the Pilot-24 Plus emitting an error code.
Charging the Co-Pilot as a Standalone Battery
(Travel Battery)
For best results ensure that the power switch on the Co-Pilot is
toggled to OFF. Connect the AC adapter to the CHARGE port on the
Co-Pilot.
Note: The Pilot-12 Plus can only be used with the AC adapter
included with the battery. Use of other third-party AC adapters
may result in the Pilot-12 Plus emitting an error code.
Note: The Pilot-24 Plus is designed to use the AC adapter that is
included with the ResMed S9 or ResMed AirSense 10 platform of
PAP devices. Use of other third-party AC adapters may result in
the Pilot-24 Plus emitting an error code.

Branchement du Co-Pilot

déconnecter tous les fils des Co-Pilot et Pilot Plus, puis
redémarrez l’appareil et suivez les instructions indiquées ci-
dessous.
Source d’alimentation ininterruptible (batterie de
secours)
1 - Fixez ensemble les batteries Co-Pilot et Pilot à l’aide des deux
dispositifs de fixation en caoutchouc fournis avec le Co-Pilot.
Veuillez vous assurer que la batterie Pilot (non fournie avec
l’ensemble Co-Pilot) se trouve dans l’ouverture INFÉRIEURE, que
le Co-Pilot se trouve dans l’ouverture SUPÉRIEURE et que l’avant
de chaque batterie est orienté dans le même sens lorsqu’elles
sont fixées ensemble.
2 - Branchez le port de SORTIE sur le Co-Pilot au connecteur
femelle« CHARGE » sur la batterie CPAP Pilot Plus à l’aide du câble
CC fourni avec l’ensemble Co-Pilot.
