Informationen zum Vorbild
In den 50er-Jahren entwickelte General Motors eine
Standardlokomotive für europäische Bahngesellschaften.
Obwohl diese Lokomotiven recht „amerikanisch“ ausse-
hen, handelt es sich um einen Entwurf, der niemals in den
USA gefahren ist, dafür in Europa aber als Lizenzbau sehr
bekannt wurde und sogar bis nach Osteuropa vordrang.
Diese Mehrzwecklokomotiven werden diesel-elektrisch
angetrieben. Der Strom für die an den Achsen liegenden
Antriebsmotoren wird in der Lokomotive von Generatoren
erzeugt, die ihrerseits von Dieselmotoren angetrieben
werden. Mit ihren rund 1 300 kW Antriebsleistung wird
diese Lokomotive vor leichten Güterzügen, aber auch vor
Personen- und Schnellzügen eingesetzt und erreicht
140 km/h Höchstgeschwindigkeit.
Die „Europalok“ wird mit geringen Modifikationen in
Dänemark, Norwegen, Belgien, Luxemburg sowie Ungarn
eingesetzt.
Das Vorbild für die vorliegende Version gehört zu den
Dänischen Staatsbahnen (DSB), die in den 90er-Jahren
die NOHAB-Diesellokomotiven teis ausmusterte, teils
in den Arbeitszugdienst schickte und deshalb Rangier-
bühnen über den Puffern montierte. Mit Beginn des 21.
Jahrhunderts führte die DSB ein neues Design mit blauer
Grundfarbe für ihren Güterzugbereich (DSB Gods) ein.
Die MY 1135 steht nicht mehr im Plandienst, aber als
Bahndienstlok der DSB vor Sonderzügen, Versuchsfahr-
ten oder auch als Reservelok im regulären Verkehr zur
Verfügung und präsentiert somit in der Öffentlichkeit die
„Blaue Epoche“.
Information About the Prototype
In the 1950’s General Motors developed a standard loco-
motive for European railroads. Although these locomoti-
ves look quite “American”, they are a design which was
never operated in the USA. Rather, they were well known
in Europe as a licensed design and they even penetrated
into Eastern Europe. These general purpose locomotives
are diesel-electrics. The electricity for the traction motors
mounted on the axles is produced by generators which
are in turn driven by diesel motors. With a generated out-
put of around 1 300 kilowatts, these locomotives are used
for light freight trains as well as passenger and express
passenger trains and they reach a maximum speed of
140 km/h (87.5 m.p.h.).
The “Europa Locomotive” is used with slight modificati-
ons in Denmark, Norway, Belgium and Luxemburg as well
as in Hungary.
The prototype for the model before you belongs to the
Danish State Railways (DSB), which retired part of the
NOHAB diesel locomotives in the Nineties, and trans-
ferred part of them to maintenance train service, hence
the switching platforms mounted above the buffers. With
the start of the 21st century, the DSB introduced a new
paint scheme with blue as the basic color for its freight
business group (DSB Gods).
Road number MY 1135 is no longer in regularly scheduled
service, but it is available as a DSB railroad maintenance
locomotive pulling special trains, for test runs, or as a re-
serve locomotive for regular service. It presents the „Blue
Period“ to the public.

Informations concernant le modèle réel
Au cours des années 1950, la General Motors a dévelop-
pé une loco standard pour les besoins des compagnies
ferroviaires européennes. Bien que de type franchement
américain, cette machine n’a jamais circulé en Amérique.
Par contre, elle a été construite sous licence en Europe,
et on l’a rencontrée jusqu’en Europe de l’est. Cette loco
pour tous services est du type Diesel-électrique. Le
courant qui alimente les moteurs de traction est produit
dans la machine par des générateurs entraînés par des
moteurs Diesel. Cette machine développe une puissance
de 1300 kW et assure la traction de trains de marchandi-
ses légers ainsi de trains omnibus ou d’express légers.Sa
vitesse maxima est de 140 km/h.
Cette loco «Europe» circule au Danemark, en Norvège, en
Belgique, au Luxembourg et en Hongrie.
Le modèle réel de cette version appartient aux Chemins
de fer Danois (DSB) qui, dans les années 90, réformèrent
une partie des locomotives diesel NOHAB et affectèrent
l’autre partie au service de train de travaux, ayant installé
à cet effet des plates-formes de manœuvre au-dessus
des tampons. Au début du 21e siècle, la DSB adopta
pour ses trains marchandises (DSB Gods) un nouveau
design dont la couleur de base était le bleu.
La MY 1135 n’est plus intégrée dans le service régulier
mais reste disponible comme locomotive de service de
la DSB pour la traction de trains spéciaux, les marches
d’essai ou encore comme locomotive de réserve dans le
trafic régulier, représentant ainsi pour le public « l’époque
bleue ».

aldrig kördes i USA, men som å andra sidan blev mycket
kända i Europa som licensbyggda. De blev även kända
ända bort i Östeuropa. Dessa allroundlok drivs diesele-
lektriskt. Strömmen till de på axlarna liggande motorerna
alstras av generatorer i loket, som i sin tur drivs med
dieselmotorer. Med sina 1300 kW drivkraft används detta
lok framför lätta godståg, men även framför person och
snälltåg. Loket kommer upp i en maxfart av 140 km/h.
“Europaloket” sätts, med mindre modifikationer, in i Dan-
mark, Norge, Belgien, Luxemburg och Ungern.

derentreinbedrijf (DSB Gods), in. De MY 1135 is niet meer
in de dienstregeling opgenomen maar is als dienst-loc
van de DSB voor speciale treinen, proefritten en ook als
reserve loc in het reguliere verkeer beschikbaar en pre-
senteert daarmee de “blauwe periode” in het openbaar.

Sicherheitshinweise
• Die Lok darf nur mit einem dafür bestimmten Betriebs-
system (Märklin Wechselstrom-Transformator 6647,
Märklin Delta, Märklin Digital oder Märklin Systems)
eingesetzt werden. Keinesfalls Transformatoren für
eine Eingangsspannung von 220 V - für USA 110 V -
verwenden
• Die Lok darf nur aus einer Leistungsquelle gleichzeitig
versorgt werden.
• Beachten Sie unbedingt die Sicherheitshinweise in der
Gebrauchsanleitung zu Ihrem Betriebssystem.
• Für den konventionellen Betrieb der Lok muss das
Anschlussgleis entstört werden. Dazu ist das Entstörset
74046 zu verwenden. Für Digitalbetrieb ist das Entstör-
set nicht geeignet.
Die bei normalem Betrieb anfallenden Wartungsarbeiten
sind nachfolgend beschrieben. Für Reparaturen oder
Ersatzteile wenden Sie sich bitte an Ihren Märklin-Fach-
händler.
Jegliche Garantie-, Gewährleistungs- und Schadensersatzan-
sprüche sind ausgeschlossen, wenn in Märklin-Produkten nicht
von Märklin freigegebene Fremdteile eingebaut werden und /
oder Märklin-Produkte umgebaut werden und die eingebauten
Fremdteile bzw. der Umbau für sodann aufgetretene Mängel und
/ oder Schäden ursächlich war. Die Darlegungs- und Beweislast
dafür, dass der Einbau von Fremdteilen oder der Umbau in bzw.

Safety Warnings
• This locomotive is to be used only with an operating
system designed for it (Märklin 6646/6647 AC transfor-
mer, Märklin Delta, Märklin Digital or Märklin Systems).
Under no circumstances should a transformer rated for
an input voltage of 220 volts be used for the 110 volts
system in North America.
• This locomotive must never be supplied with power
from more than one transformer.
• Pay close attention to the safety warnings in the
instructions for your operating system.
• The feeder track must be equipped to prevent inter-
ference with radio and television reception, when the
locomotive is to be run in conventional operation. The
74046 interference suppression set is to be used for
this purpose. The interference suppression set is not
suitable for digital operation.
The maintenance work necessary with normal operation
of this locomotive is described below. Please see your
authorized Märklin dealer for repairs or spare parts.
No warranty or damage claims shall be accepted in those cases
where parts neither manufactured nor approved by Märklin have
been installed in Märklin products or where Märklin products have
been converted in such a way that the non-Märklin parts or the
conversion were causal to the defects and / or damage arising. The
burden of presenting evidence and the burden of proof thereof,
that the installation of non-Märklin parts or the conversion in or of
Märklin products was not causal to the defects and / or damage
arising, is borne by the person and / or company responsible for

Remarques importantes sur la sécurité

transformateurs pour une tension à l’entrée de 220 V

• La locomotive ne peut être alimentée en courant que
par une seule source de courant.
• Veuillez impérativement respecter les remarques sur
la sécurité décrites dans le mode d’emploi en ce qui
concerne le système d’exploitation.
• Pour l’exploitation de la locomotive en mode conven-
tionnel, la voie de raccordement doit être déparasitée.
A cet effet, utiliser le set de déparasitage réf. 74046. Le
set de déparasitage ne convient pas pour l’exploitation
en mode numérique.
Les travaux d‘entretien occasionnels à effectueren
exploitation normale sont décrits plus loin. Pour toute
réparation ou remplacement de pièces, adressez-vous à
votre détaillant-spécialiste Märklin.
Tout recours à une garantie commerciale ou contractuelle ou à
une demande de dommages-intérêt est exclu si des pièces non
autorisées par Märklin sont intégrées dans les produits Märklin et /
ou si les produits Märklin sont transformés et que les pièces d’autres
fabricants montées ou la transformation constituent la cause des

Veiligheidsvoorschriften
• De loc mag alleen met een daarvoor bestemd bedrjfs-

gebruikt worden. In geen geval transformatoren met
een ingangsspanning van 220V – voor USA 110V –
gebruiken.
• De loc mag niet vanuit meer dan één stroomvoorziening
gelijktijdig gevoed worden.
• Lees ook aandachtig de veiligheidsvoorschriften in de
gebruiksaanwijzing van uw bedrijfssysteem.
• Voor het conventionele bedrijf met de loc dient de
aansluitrail te worden ontstoort. Hiervoor dient men
de ontstoor-set 74046 te gebruiken. Voor het digitale
bedrijf is deze ontstoor-set niet geschikt.
De in het normale bedrijf voorkomende onderhoudswerk-
zaamheden zijn verderop beschreven. Voor reparatie of
onderdelen kunt u zich tot uw Märklin winkelier wenden.
Elke aanspraak op garantie en schadevergoeding is uitgesloten,
wanneer in Märklin-producten niet door Märklin vrijgegeven vreem-
de onderdelen ingebouwd en / of Märklin-producten omgebouwd
worden en de ingebouwde vreemde onderdelen resp. de ombouw
oorzaak van nadien opgetreden defecten en / of schade was. De
aantoonplicht en de bewijslijst daaromtrent, dat de inbouw van
vreemde onderdelen in Märklin-producten of de ombouw van
