4.0 Installation
4.1 General
After unpacking, check the PinTherm Mistral and the sensors (if applicable) for damage. Check that the
type/model and the rated voltage are correct.
4.2 Installation PinTherm Mistral
Determine a suitable place for installing the PinTherm Mistral. Mount the PinTherm Mistral on a solid
surface that can carry a minimum of 4 kg. We recommend mounting the PinTherm Mistral at a height of
±1.5m from the oor, at a well reachable place.
For cable gland use only cable glands tted with strain relief, with a minimum re class of UL94V2.
Check that the power supply has been switched off before connecting any wiring. If this is not the case,
the power supply must be switched off before you continue. When switching off the power supply of
the appliance to which connection is to be made, you should also refer to the technical documentation/
operating instructions for the appliance in question.
Connect the PinTherm Mistral according to one of the supplied electrical diagrams which are in the back
of this technical book. To select the correct connection diagram, you need to know on which type of
device you will connect the PinTherm Mistral. For a selection see also Annex I.
When applying a 0-10VDC signal, see the table below for the correct cable diameter and associated
length.
Diameter Length
0.8mm2 80 meter
1.0mm2 100 meter In this case, we advise the use of a shielded cable.
1.5mm2 150 meter
4.3 Installation external room sensor (06 29 086)
Place the external room sensor draft-free, in view of the appliance at a height of approx. 1.5m from the
oor. And connect the sensor to the appropriate terminals in the PinTherm Mistral. Refer to the chart
below for the correct wire diameter and length.
Diameter Length
0.8mm2 80 meter
1.0mm2 100 meter In this case, we advise the use of a shielded cable.
1.5mm2 150 meter

4.4 Installation water temperature sensor (06 29 094)
In case of a water-supplied system, place an external sensor at the supply pipe in the area of the
MDA(+) water-supplied air heater. Refer to the chart below for the correct wire diameter and
length.
Diameter Length
0.8mm2 80 meter
1.0mm2 100 meter In this case, we advise the use of a shielded cable.
1.5mm2 150 meter
Based on the determined actual water temperature, the 0-10V signal will be available. This to
prevent cold air blowing (heating mode) / warm air blowing (cooling mode).
