Important safety instructions
To minimize the risk of fire in a tumble dryer, the following should be observed:
• Items that have een spotted or soaked with vegeta le or cooking oil constitute a fire
hazard and should not e placed in a tum le dryer.
Oil-affected items can ignite spontaneously, especially when exposed to heat sources
Such as in a tum le dryer. The items ecome warm, causing an oxidation reaction in the
oil. Oxidation creates heat. If the heat cannot escape, the items can ecome hot enough to
catch fire. Piling, stacking or storing oil-affected items can prevent heat from escaping and
so create a fire hazard.
If it is unavoida le that fa rics that contain vegeta le or cooking oil or have een
contaminated y hair care products e placed in a tum le dryer they should first e
washed in hot water with extra detergent-this will reduce, ut not eliminate, the hazard.
Washed in hot water with extra detergent-this will reduce, ut not eliminate, the hazard.
The ‘cool down’ cycle of tum le dryers should e used to reduce the temperature of the

• Items that have een previously cleaned in, washed in, soaked in or spotted with
petrol/gasoline, dry-cleaning solvents or other flamma le or explosive su stances should

waxes and was removers.
• Items containing foam ru er (also known as latex foam) or similarly testured ru er. like
