Installation and mounting of this ap-
pliance in non-stationary locations
(such as on ships) may only be carried
out by specialised businesses or by
trained specialists who ensure that con-
ditions for safe utilisation of the appli-
ance are fulfilled.
The cooker hood is only disconnect-
ed from the electrical power supply
when one of the following conditions has
been fulfilled:
–The connection cable to the mains
has been disconnected from the
power supply.
Do not pull on the connection cable to
the mains in order to disconnect the
appliance from the power supply. Pull
out the power supply plug.
–The safety fuse of the home wiring
system has been switched off.
–The screw-locking device of the home
wiring system has been completely
screwed out.
The appliance may not be connect-
ed to the power supply by means of
an extension cable.
Extension cables do not guarantee the
required standard of safety for the appli-
ance (e.g. risk of overheating).
Use
Never work with an open flame un-
der the cooker hood. Thus flambe-
ing and grilling on an open flame are for-
bidden. The activated cooker hood will
draw the flames into the filter. Cooking
fat which has been absorbed results in a
risk of fire.
On using a cooker hood over gas
cooking hobs it is essential that
cooking zones in operation be covered
by pots or pans.
The cooker hood may be damaged by
the heat effect of the flames.
Always switch on the cooker hood
when a cooking zone is being used.
Condensation water may collect if the
cooker hood is not switched on and this
may corrode the hood.
On cooking with cooking oils and
fats, pay attention to pots, pans and
deep fryers. Grilling with electrical
grilling appliances must also be
constantly supervised.
Overheated oils and fats may ignite
spontaneously and set the cooker hood
on fire.
Never use the cooker hood without
a grease filter, since this filter pre-
vents deposits of grease and dirt in the
appliance, which would impair its opera-
tion.
Ensure that the filters are regularly
cleaned or replaced. Filters which
become oversaturated with grease
always mean a risk of fire (see the
section “Cleaning and Maintenance”)
Never use a steam cleaner to clean
the cooker hood. The steam could
contact live parts of the hood and cause
a short circuit.
