GENERAL INFORMATION

Attractive brick ﬁrebox liner kits are available for 36" and 42" models

listed above.

READ ENTIRE INSTRUCTION SHEET BEFORE STARTING THE

INSTALLATION

THE FIREPLACE MUST BE OFF AND COLD BEFORE BEGINNING.

ALL WARNINGS, PRECAUTIONS AND INSTRUCTIONS IN THE

INSTALLATION AND OPERATION MANUAL PROVIDED WITH THE

APPLIANCE APPLY TO THESE INSTRUCTIONS.

If you encounter any problems, need clariﬁcation of these instructions

or are not qualiﬁed to properly install this kit, contact you local

distributor or dealer.

WARNING

•Turn off, unplug, and let ﬁreplace cool before install-

ing brick liner. Only a qualiﬁed service person should

service and repair ﬁreplace.

•A qualiﬁed service person must connect and discon-

nect ﬁreplace to gas supply. Follow all local codes.

NOTICE

If already installed, you must remove log base

assembly before installing brick liner. Refer to log

base assembly owner's manual.

NOTE: Some installations may require the gas supply line to be

disconnected before removing log assembly. If so, call a qualiﬁed

service person to disconnect gas supply from ﬁreplace.

IMPORTANT:Always handle ﬁrebrick panels with two hands.

INSTALLATION

1. Install rear ﬁrebrick panel on back wall. Rest bottom edge of ﬁrebrick

panel on ﬁrebox ﬂoor. Lean ﬁrebrick against back wall of ﬁrebox while

installing side panels.

NOTE: The rear panel is held in place by two side panels.

2. Gently slide left side brick into place while holding rear brick panel

upright against ﬁrebox back.

3. Use supplied retainer bracket and screw to secure side brick panel to

ﬁrebox (see Figure 2).

4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for right side brick panel.

5. There is a gas knockout in each side panel for the gas line to feed through

(see Figure 2). Determine on which side the gas connection will be

located. Using a utility knife or cutting blade, remove the identiﬁed gas

knockout.

6. Replace log base, if removed, for ﬁrebrick installation (see log base

owner's manual for proper installation).

CAUTION

Always handle ﬁrebrick panels with two hands. Do

not force ﬁrebrick panels into place. Excessive force

will break ﬁrebrick panels.

WARNING

•Test all gas piping and connections for leaks after

installing or servicing. Correct all leaks at once.

•Never use an open ﬂame to check for a leak. Apply

a noncorrosive leak detection ﬂuid to all joints.

Bubbles forming show a leak. Correct all leaks at

once.
