OC-48c/STM-16c POS Optical Interface Boards

Overview

The OC-48c/STM-16c POS optical interface board of the Quidway®NetEngine 80 core router

(abbreviated to NE80) consists of the PIC OC-48c/STM-16c POS optical interface and the Line

Processing Unit (LPU).

The LPU implements processing and encapsulation of link layer protocols, data flow classification

and packet filtering, data forwarding and control packet processing. The OC-48c/STM-16c POS

optical interface mainly implements POS frame encapsulation/decapsulation of data flows and

SDH/SONET mapping/demapping of POS frames, provides 2.5-Gbps external optical interfaces,

and enables such functions as loopback and environment monitoring.

CR-P1UZ

The OC-48c/STM-16c POS optical interface board uses fixed optical modules and reaches a rate

up to 2.5 Gbps. You can choose the optical modules according to networking requirements.

Specifications

The 1-port OC-48c/STM-16c POS optical interface board of the NE80 can be further categorized

into four types based on the transmission distances of the used fixed optical modules. The

specifications are listed below.

CR-P1UZ LC 1-port 2.5G POS single-mode optical interface board: The

maximum transmission distance is 2 km, and the center

wavelength is 1310 nm.

CR-P1US LC

1-port 2.5G POS single-mode optical interface board: The

maximum transmission distance is 15 km, and the center

wavelength is 1310 nm.

CR-P1UL LC

1-port 2.5G POS single-mode optical interface board: The

maximum transmission distance is 40 km, and the center

wavelength is 1310 nm.

CR-P1UV LC

1-port 2.5G POS single-mode optical interface board: The

maximum transmission distance is 70 km, and the center

wavelength is 1550 nm.
