SAFETY NOTES & GENERAL SERVICING ADVICE

1. This manual is NOT intended as a comprehensive repair/maintenance guide to the appliance.

2. It should ONLY be used by suitably qualified persons having technical competence applicable

product knowledge and suitable tools and test equipment.

3. Servicing of electrical appliances must be undertaken with the appliance disconnected (unplugged)

from the electrical supply.

4. Servicing must be preceded by Earth Continuity, Earth Resistance & Insulation Resistance checks.

5. Personal safety precautions must be taken to protect against accidents caused by sharp edges on

metal and plastic parts.

6. After servicing the appliance must be rechecked for Electrical Safety. In the case of appliances

which are connected to a water supply (i.e.: Washing Machines, Dishwashers & Food Centres etc.)

checks must be made for leaks from seals gaskets and pipe work and rectification carried out where

necessary.

7. It can be dangerous to attempt 'DIY' repairs / maintenance on complex equipment and the Company

recommends that any problem with the appliance is referred to its own Service Organisation.

INTRODUCTION

A new range of Innovative Washing Machines with a large 11.0 kg load for the modern family.

New style Digit Control Display Panel to advise and update the customer on the machines options and

programme progress.

A range of new Wash Cycles including Steam Refresh, Darks, Anti Allergy and Ultra Delicates

programmes.

Programmes can be adjusted to suit the individual customer requirements.

Spin Speed and Temperature can all be fine-tuned.

A large drum porthole allowing easy laundry loading and unloading.

The soap dispenser is hidden and only revealed when the machines door is opened.

The programme start can be delayed.

Note: This model is Cold Fill only.

Stand-by Mode:

The machine in compliance with the new 'Energy Saving Regulations' is fitted with an automatic

stand-by system which is enabled after 30 minutes if no activity is detected. Press the On/Off button

briefly and wait for the machine to start up again.

OPENING THE DOOR MANUALLY - ALL MODELS

To release the door if the machine fails during a cycle and the door will not open

• Disconnect the machine from the electricity supply.

• Lower the drain hose and remove the water from the machine into a suitable container.

• Unclip the machine’s kickstrip using a flat bladed screwdriver to release the plastic clips.

• Pull the tab now revealed outwards (Fig. A) until the plastic brace comes away. Then pull the

brace twice downwards (Fig. B) until a 'click' is heard, this indicates that the door is now unlocked.

• It should now be possible to open the door.

• If the door will still not open, repeat the above steps.

INSTALLATION

Transit Supports Removal

BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO USE THE MACHINE, YOU MUST FOLLOW THE PROCEDURE

DESCRIBED BELOW.

The inside of the appliance is supported, for transportation, by four screws on the back panel.

Before using the appliance these MUST be removed.

NOTE: You may need a second person to help you.

WARNING: The appliance must not be plugged into the mains supply until all installation

instructions have been completed.

Choose a Location

The choice of location for the appliance will influence its performance.

Position where possible on a solid floor as vibration may occur with a wooden floor.

Take care with vinyl floor coverings. The weight of the appliance may cause indentations in some vinyl

floor coverings. You should not install your appliance on a carpeted floor, but if this is unavoidable,

ensure that air can circulate around its base.

If locating next to another appliance or an item of furniture, leave space between them to allow air to

circulate.

For your safety and to comply with IEE regulations, you should not install your appliance in a bath or

shower room. Seek professional advice if you wish to do so.

Ensure sufficient space is allowed for the appliance.

Ensure the electrical socket and water taps are easily accessible and that the water supply can be

isolated if necessary.

Risk of freezing:

Do not position the appliance in rooms exposed to frost. Frozen pipes may burst under pressure.

1. Remove the 4 screws, along with the

spacers together with the washers intact,

indicated by arrows.

2. You must now cover the holes with the four

plastic covers provided.

Retain the transit screws, spacers and

washers. Should you move house then these

should be replaced to support the inside of

the appliance to prevent damage when in

transit.

IMPORTANT:

Use the round cap supplied to cover the 5

holes which housed the mains plug, situated

in the right hand part of the lower back of the

appliance.

Levelling

Connect to the Water Supply

The water tap and standpipe should be situated away from the rear of appliance but in easy access for

turning on and off.

Connect to a Drainage System

Connect up the drain hose, after fitting the hooked end support supplied in the machine.

Ensure the drainage hose is not obstructed, trapped or kinked.

The drainage pipe should not be extended on these models.

Do not position standpipe near an electrical outlet. We recommend one of the following drainage

methods:- (on following page)

1. Install the washer dryer on a flat sturdy floor, without

resting it up against walls, cabinets etc.

2. If the floor is not perfectly level, compensate for any

unevenness by tightening or loosening the adjustable

front feet (see figure); the angle of inclination, measured

according to the worktop, must not exceed 2°.

For the machine to operate correctly it requires water

pressures in the range of 0.5bar (0.05MPa) to 10bar

(1.0 MPa). Most water supplies will be in this range.

Connect the hose to the water supply pipe at the rear

of the appliance and onto the cold water supply tap.

Remember to insert a sealing washer (A) to ensure

each connection is watertight.

Fit securely and turn on the water supply to check for

leaks. If there is a leak, turn off the water supply,

remove the connector and check that the sealing

washer is in place.

Refit the connector and tighten it. Turn on the water

supply.

Note: Do not over tighten the water supply pipe

connection. Hand tight should be sufficient.

We recommend you use the new hose provided with

your appliance to ensure correct connection and

prevent leaks.

Standpipe

Note:

Ensure the standpipe has a minimum diameter of

38 mm.

The standpipe should be installed away from the

rear of the appliance.

1. Ensure hooked end of drain hose is positioned

between 100 and 65 cm above the bottom of the

machine.

2. Untie the end of the GREY drainage hose from

the rear of the appliance and place

approximately 100 mm into the standpipe or

sink trap spigot.

Ensure the drain hose is securely attached, to

prevent it coming away while the machine is in use

and causing a flood.

Sink Waste System Note:

Ensure the sink outlet pipe has a minimum diameter

of 32 mm.

1. Untie the end of the GREY drainage hose from

the rear of the appliance.

2. Reposition 'hooked end' support as required

along the GREY drainage hose.

3. If fitting an under sink waste disposal unit cut

out the membrane, bung or blanking plug.

4. Attach the GREY drainage hose to the under

sink waste disposal unit securely, using a

suitable hose clip.

5. Raise the hose to a minimum height of between

90 and 65 cm to avoid syphoning.

Ensure the drain hose is securely attached, to

prevent it coming away while the machine is in

use and causing a flood.

CONTROLS

On-Off/Cancel with Indicator Lamp

Pressing the button briefly switches the machine 'On' or 'Off'.

The machine can be switched 'Off' during a Wash Cycle by holding the button in for

approximately 3 seconds. If the button is pressed briefly or accidentally the machine will not

switch off. If the machine is switched Off during a wash cycle it will cancel the selected

programme.

Start/Pause with Indicator Lamp

When the Green indicator light flashes slowly, press the button to start the cycle.

Once the cycle has begun, the indicator light will stop flashing and remain lit.

To pause the wash cycle in progress, press the button. The indicator will now flash

orange.

If the Door Locked indicator symbol switches off the door can be opened.

To re-commence the programme at the point it was interrupted press the button

once.

Programme Knob (Wash Cycle Selector)

This can be rotated in both directions to select the required programme. The knob will NOT move during

the wash cycle.

Temperature Button

The machine will automatically display the maximum temperature for the selected cycle.

The temperature can be decreased by pressing the temperature button, until the Cold wash

setting is reached (no). Pressing it again will restore the maximum temperature.

Note: Exception - if the "Cotton" programme is selected, the temperature can be increased

to 90°C.

Spin Speed Button

The machine will automatically display the maximum spin speed for the selected cycle.

The speed can be decreased by pressing the Spin Speed button until the (no) setting is

reached. Pressing again will restore the maximum speed.

Delay Timer Button

Press the button until the desired delay time is displayed. During the selection process the

time is indicated in the display. To remove the Delay Timer option, press the button until the

display shows the text "OFF". At this time the Display Time symbol disappears.

Note: Once the Start/Pause button has been pressed the delay time can only be

decreased.
