FOREWORD

This installation manual applies to all Getinge 600 models.

The Getinge 600 is one of Getinge’s range of usher-disinfectors.

The information in the manual is intended to ensure safe installation and

optimum efciency .

Read through the instruction manual before using the machine.

The information in this manual describes the machine as dispatched from Getinge.

There may be differences due to customization.

The machine is accompanied by the following documentation:

• Spare parts list

Getinge reserves the right to change the specication and design without prior notice.

SAFETY REGULATIONS

The equipment must be used in accordance with the safety instructions be-

low. If in doubt, contact a representative of the reseller without delay.

Caution

• Take care when handling the chemical detergent used in the machine. Read the

details on the container or contact the manufacturer:

- if the agent comes into contact with the operator’s eyes or skin or if the vapours

are inhaled, etc.

- about storing the agent and disposing of empty containers.

• The equipment must only be used by personnel who know about it and are trained

to use it. Personnel must also receive regular training on this equipment.

• Read the instructions thoroughly before use

• Never use the usher-disinfector if unsure how to operate it.

• Follow the written instructions.

• Keep the equipment clean.

• Switch off the electric power before opening the machine cabinet. (The machine

cabinet contains electrical components.)

• Ensure that there is always agent in the containers This is important both for

the operation of the machine and for keeping the ushing chamber free from

discolorations .

• Always use equipment in accordance with the local regulations.

• Always connect the equipment via an RCD (residual current device).

• Always use an earthed power supply for the usher-disinfector.

• If the goods have not cooled after cleaning, ensure that they are handled with care

- to avoid burn injuries.

• Before starting, check the waste outlet at the bottom of the ushing chamber for

blockages. This will ensure that the usher-disinfector works properly.

• Do not place items that are sensitive to heat or moisture on top of the usher-

disinfector .

• If the machine has not been used for 72 hours the steam generator and circulation

pump must be emptied. This operation must be performed by authorised personnel.

Do not wash down or hose down the machine with water.

Any modication or incorrect use of the equipment without the approval of Getinge

Disinfection AB invalidates Getinge Disinfection AB’s product liability.

Introduction

Intended application area

GETINGE 600 is a usher-disinfector for emptying, cleaning and the disinfection of

bed-pans, urine bottles, suction bottles, buckets, suction bags and urine bags. The items

must be placed in the proper holder, recommended by Getinge Disinfection AB.

The customer is responsible for ensuring that an Installation Qualication, Operating

Qualication and a Performance Qualication according to ISO 15883 are carried out

before the product goes into service.

Some of the warnings, instructions and advice in this manual are so important that we

have used the following special symbols to draw attention to them. The symbols used

are as follows:

General

The Getinge 600-series fusher-disinfector is primarily used for the cleaning and disin-

fection of circulatory items such as bedpans and urine bottles. The items are cleaned by

ushing with cold and hot water, disinfecting with steam and then cooling with warm

water. The holder in the ushing chamber is the standard model. Other models come with

separate instructions for positioning the items. The Getinge 600 series is part of Getinge’s

series of usher-disinfectors that are available as freestanding or wall mounted models.

LWhen the yellow lamp comes on: The machine is running a program.

The temperature and cleaning phase can be seen on the display.

MWhen the green lamp comes on: The program is complete. The green lamp goes

out when the door is opened and the maximum process temperature is shown on

the display .

OWhen the red lamp comes on: The machine has reached the disinfection temperature or

another fault has occurred (Fault code F).

tButton to start the economy program for urine bottles.

uButton to start the normal program for normally soiled items.

INTENS Button to start the intensive program for heavily soiled items.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

1. Place the goods to be cleaned in the holder.

2. Choose a program from the table below.

Economy program: Presst.

Normal program Press u.

(This button allso activates the pouch eater program on Getinge 608)

Intensive program: Press r, if the items are heavily soiled.

To add detergent agent press s.

By means of a preselection, detergent can be added automatically during each

program.

If detergent dispensing is automatic, the detergent can be cancelled by pressing s.

3. Press the foot pedal to start the program. The program indicated by the lamp

will start.

4. The yellow lamp at M ashes for six seconds. During this period the program can

be cancelled.

5. The green lamp N comes on when the program is ready and the door is

opened slightly .

The goods may be hot at the end of the program. If the temperature of the

goods is above 60 °C, the display shows U7.

6. To open the door completely, press on the pedal.
