Quick Note:
The Getting Started Guide (GSG), CD, and adapter are included in you X720 retail packaging.
The GSG is on top of device tray, while the adapter is inserted into the device tray itself. Please
find the adapter inside the inner tray and CD will be placed underneath of the inner tray.

About the X720 Data Card
1. Service Status LED Indicator: This LED indicates the device’s current status (i.e. when
connected to 3G, connected to 4G LTE, or when service is not available). Please see the
LED indicator status on page 8 for more information.
External Antenna Port: LTE Antenna port (antenna not included)
ExpressCard Port: ExpressCard/34 (34 mm wide) port
4G LTE USIM Card Slot: See page5 for instructions on how to Insert your 4G LTE
capable USIM Card.

Getting Started
Insert the USIM Card
To open the device cover and install your new 4G LTE capable USIM Card, follow the
steps below.
1. Remove the cover from the USIM card slot by placing your fingernail into the divot on
the cover.
2. Insert your 4G LTE capable USIM card (if one is not already inserted). The USIM card
contact points (gold colored) should face down toward the device. Insert the card with
the notched corner positioned as shown above (blue circle) and slide the card in the slot.
3. Secure the card by pushing it into the slot firmly.
4. Re-apply the device back cover.

Install Connection Manager Software (Required)
Step 1: Turn on your computer and close all applications.
Step 2: Locate and insert your Connection Manager CD in to your PC.
Important Note: The X720 Data Card should NOT be connected to your PC.
Step 3: The installation process should start automatically. Follow the on-screen
instructions to install the Connection Manager as shown below.
Step 4: Once installed launch the Connection Manager by selecting the Launch Franklin
Wireless Connection Manager checkbox.

Note:
For more information on the Connection Manager and its features please refer to the device
User Manual or the online manual located under the Help tab of the
Connection Manager (as shown below in RED).
Insert the X720 Data Card
Express Card Instructions:
(See section below for PC Card/PCMCIA instructions)
The X720 Data Card should fit directly into your PC’s ExpressCard slot (generally on the
side of your laptop) as shown below.
Note:
The push button tab(s) on your PC/Laptop’s ExpressCard
slot should be depressed in prior to inserting as shown by
the arrow to the left.
Caution:
Before disconnection the device from your computer, please follow the steps below:
Step1: Click the “Safely Remove Hardware”icon in the taskbar
(in the system tray, near the clock).
Step2: Click the Eject the device option.

PCMCIA Adapter Instructions
For laptops with a PC Card (for PCMCIA) slot, your X720 Data Card is packaged with the
adapter (the adapter can be found in the side of retail box insert tray.)
Step1: Insert the ExpressCard into the PCMCIA adapter as shown below.
Step 2:Insert the ExpressCard with adapter into your PC’s PCMCIA slot (generally on
the side of your laptop) as shown below.
Note: The push button tab(s) on your PC/Laptop’s PC Card slot
should be depressed in prior to inserting as shown by the
arrow to the left.
Caution:
Before disconnecting the device from your computer, please follow the steps below:
Step1: Click the “Safely Remove Hardware”icon in the taskbar
(in the system tray, near the clock).
Step2: Click the “Eject”the device option.

Connecting
Step1: Open the Connection Manager (if it isn’t already)
Step2: Press the Connect button as shown in RED below.
Once connected, the display outlined in Red below should read Connected.You will also
see a GREEN check mark Mobile Broadband section as outlined below in RED.
That’s it! You are now connected to Verizon’s network with blazing fast LTE speeds
(where available). Your device will automatically select the best network available for
you!

Product Features
Power Management: The X720 utilizes power management and host system features provided
by the ExpressCard and/or PCMCIA interface.
PCMCIA Adapter: This packaged adapter will allow the ExpressCard to be utilized in PCMCIA
card slots
Technology: 4G LTE (700 MHz) + 3G EVDO Rev.A (800/1900 MHz)
Data Speeds:
4G*:Downlink up to 100 Mbps & Uplink up to 50 Mbps
3G*: Downlink speeds up to 3.1 Mbps & Uplink up to 1.8 Mbps
*Note: All speeds are theoretical and may vary depending on your coverage area and network
conditions.
Care and Maintenance
Please do not remove or alter the X720 device or label in any way. Doing so may affect the
product’s performance.
Please safely remove all device (from the system tray) hardware from Windows prior to
removing it.
Forcing the device in or out of the PC slot may cause damage.
Protect the device from exposure to liquids, dust, and heat.
Remove the device prior to transport.
When inserting the device, grip both sides firmly. Make sure ExpressCard or PCMCIA card
slot has the pin pushed in.
