Thank you for choosing the Escali Wide Body Composition Bathroom
Scale. This precision state-of-the-art measuring instrument is most accurate
when weighing on a flat hard surface. This scale will not function correctly on
carpet. As the electronic sensors are sensitive, avoid dropping, or jarring the
scale, and store where it will be protected from impact.
Warning! Do not use this product if you have a pacemaker or other
internal electronic medical devices.
INITIAL SETUP & ENTERING PERSONAL DATA INTO MEMORY
1. Insert four AAA batteries, into the battery compartment, and ensure the +/-
terminals are correctly in place. Your scale should now be on.
2. To change to your desired unit mode (kg, lb, or st), press the left arrow.
This smart scale can remember up to 10 users. To begin using, simply
stand on the scale with clean, dry, and bare feet or press SET to enter set-
up mode.
3. While in set-up mode, select a user number (P0 - P9) using the left or right
arrows; press SET to confirm.
4. Select your gender using the left or right arrows; press SET to confirm.
5. Select your age using the left or right arrows; press SET to confirm.
6. Select your height using the left or right arrows; press SET to confirm.
7. After completing set-up mode, the LCD will return to zero with all the data
that you have entered. Your data is now stored
into memory.
8. To program other users, repeat steps 2
through 6.

3
TO WEIGH AND MEASURE
1. To begin use, simply stand directly onto the scale platform with clean, dry,
and bare feet. After a few seconds, your weight will be shown. (New users
will need to select an open user by pressing SET twice,
and go through the set-up process. After the new users
weight has been captured, the scale will automatically
detect the dedicated user for the next weigh-in.)
2. The scale will then begin body analysis, and display a
moving “o”.
3. When measurement is completed, the scale will then display the current
weight, body fat, body water, bone, muscle mass measurements, and
BMR value.
4. The scale will turn off automatically if there is no further operation.
TO MEASURE WEIGHT ONLY
1. Simply step onto the platform of the scale.
2. Your weight value is then shown on the display.
3. The scale turns off automatically if there is no further operation.
HOW DOES THE SCALE WORK?
The scale uses BIA (Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis) to measure the body fat,
body water, bone, and muscle mass. In this technique, a safe, low-level electri-
cal signal is passed through the body. The scale measures the speed of the cur-
rent which is affected by water, muscle, bone, and fat. Using this data, the scale
estimates the percentage of body fat, body water, bone, and muscle mass.
UNDERSTANDING THE MEASUREMENTS
Body weight, and hydration levels fluctuate throughout the day and are affected
by exercise, eating, and drinking. This can affect body composition measure-
ments. As a result, for maximum accuracy and repeatability it is recommended
that you measure yourself about the same time of day under the same condi-
tions to establish a personal average and track change.
HOW ACCURATE IS BIA TECHNOLOGY?

4
Body composition measurements from any personal scale using BIA technology
are a close indication, and not an exact value. Use body composition measure-
ments from any personal scale as an indication of progress or change. Please
consult your doctor for more information on accurate body composition measure-
ments.
ATHLETE MODE
Athletes are defined as those who exercise at least 10 hours per week, and
have been doing so for the last 6 months.
WEIGHT LOSS
During weight loss, the percentage of body fat may not change as expected,
since the reading is a percentage of body weight, and both will be changing at
the same time. To minimize the loss of lean body tissue, be sure to include
exercise in your weight loss plan.
