imagination in ways not

Reliable gaming monitors from the world

leader in touchmonitors

Elo TouchSystems, a division of Tyco Electronics, produces

a complete line of monitors for gaming machines as well as

applications throughout the casino. Our gaming monitor line

is the direct result of talking to industry people like you.

You wanted higher-quality monitors with greater reliability,

new features, and a superior touch technology–and we have

delivered just that.

Experienced monitor design and production

Elo’s founders invented the touchscreen more than 30 years

ago. Today, Elo is not only the world leader in touch technology,

but also the world’s largest producer of touchmonitors–

currently with over 35 different models in more than 100

standard product variations. For over 15 years, Elo has offered

monitors designed for a variety of specialized markets including

point of sale (POS), industrial, medical, gaming, and kiosk.

Proven quality

Elo gaming monitors have earned their reputation for top

quality. Starting with proven basic circuits from our desktop

monitors, we engineer and build monitors specifically for

the demanding requirements of the gaming and amusement

industry. Our monitors are designed for touch–it’s not added

as an afterthought from a different supplier. We even build

our monitors under the same roof as our touch technology.

A worldwide company with people

you can trust

Elo has expanded its leadership in the global touch marketplace

by proving itself every day. With direct offices in more than

15 countries, we are in your time zone, speak your language,

and can deliver quickly from warehouses on each continent.

We are there when you need us.

Elo is part of Tyco International, the world’s largest manufacturer

of electrical and electronic components. The company operates

in more than 100 countries with 260,000 employees and had

fiscal 2005 revenues of $40 billion.

Revolutionary iTouch CRTs

CRTs still have a place in markets where price is paramount

and repairs must be local. Elo’s unique iTouch “touch-on-tube”

technology eliminates the overlay to preserve 100 percent

of the original picture quality. That means up to 80 percent

less reflection and no overlay to break. And true flat versions

look as good as any LCD.

You really can have the best of all worlds with iTouch–ultimate

picture quality and superior touch performance at a lower price!

Custom Monitors

Elo’s 3D (Discuss, Design, Deliver) team is a great resource

for your specialized requirements. If our standard line

of Elo touchmonitors doesn’t provide one that’s a perfect fit,

our product design experts can build you one that is.

Elo can also produce a drop-in replacement for your existing

monitor, with both hardware and software compatibility along

with the added benefit of Elo’s touch technology.

USB hub

Controls on the side rather than the front, plus

lockout function for public use

Unrivalled touch technology

Elo is the leader in touch technology with eight product lines

to suit your application requirements.

IntelliTouch

Capacitive

iTouch

Both IntelliTouch and iTouch are surface-wave touch technologies.

IntelliTouch is applied on a piece of clear glass that is then integrated

into an LCD; iTouch is applied directly on the CRT faceplate.

The controller develops a digital map of the glass using ultrasonic

waves in the surface. A bare or gloved finger absorbs a portion of

the waves travelling across the surface and the resulting change in

the received signal is analysed by the controller and digitised into

X and Y coordinates. A third coordinate–Elo’s unique Z-axis–senses

pressure by measuring how much signal is absorbed.

Elo’s capacitive technology consists of a uniform conductive coating

on a glass panel. During operation, electrodes around the panel’s

edge evenly distribute a low voltage across the conductive layer,

creating a uniform electric field. A touch draws current from each

corner. The controller measures the ratio of the current flow from

the corners and calculates the touch location.

How touch systems work

Elo surface wave

An outstanding player’s experience yields increased coin-drop.

In independent comparative tests, players simply preferred

Elo’s surface-wave touch technology.

Extremely fast, sensitive touch response

The most accurate touch, even for small targets like

internet hyperlinks

Drift-free performance, not affected by surrounding

metal or poor earths

Never an incorrect or averaged double-touch from

two players

Ultimate picture quality and light transmission, with no

metallic layers or coatings

Minimized reflections from overhead lights

Z-axis for pressure adds a new dimension to games

Only Elo offers clear glass IntelliTouch and iTouch “touch-on-tube”

surface-wave technology. And only Elo has recently patented

true flat surface-wave technology with the transducers on

the back of the glass.

Elo capacitive

Elo capacitive touchscreens provide a solution for customers

seeking an alternative to the currently available capacitive

options. The Elo-designed controller is drop-in compatible

with both industry standard protocols, and the touchscreens

feature Elo’s advanced Z-border, a patented linearization

electrode pattern. With the addition of capacitive touchscreens,

Elo is firmly positioned as the primary single-source solution

for all mainstream touch technologies.
