Step 1:
1. Move the shift lever to the rearmost position.
2. Use a plastic trim removal tool to detach the trim surrounding
the shifter.
3. It may also be possible to grasp the edges of the trim surround-
ing the shifter, where it meets the shift boot, and pull straight up
to detach.
4. Pull it up and out of the way to expose the Torx screws.
5. Using the included T20 Torx bit remove the two screws at the
front of the button cluster. Be careful not to let the screws fall
into the shifter recess. Set the screws aside in a safe place.

Step 2:
Lift up the front of the button cluster enough to expose the
connectors below. Make sure the key is in the off position.
1. Disconnect the ESP and any other button harnesses by
depressing the tab on the left side of the connector and
pulling downward. Put some downward pressure on the
button top while doing so to prevent it from moving upward
and possibly dislodging its retaining clips.
2. Detach the harness support if equipped. You may want to
pry it loose with a small flat head screw driver.
3. Disconnect the 12v power socket by depressing the tab on
the connector and pulling downward. On models with the
socket on the left, the tab is on the back side.
4. If equipped disconnect the audio input connector by de-
pressing the tab, circled in yellow, with a small screw driv-
er.
5. Remove the console tray and set aside for now.

Step 3:
The wiring connections will be as follows:
1. Orange connector on the included Button Harness → Button
2. RJ11 connector on Button Harness → Splitter, side with two sockets
3. Radar detector power cable → Splitter, side with one socket
4. One end of included Detector Harness → Splitter, side with two sockets
5. Other end of Detector Harness → Radar detector
Cable routing will depend on where the Radar Detector is installed, so this is not detailed in this manual.
The orange connector on the Button Harness needs to be in the area of the button cluster. Route the ca-
bles as needed from there. We recommend testing the circuit before fully installing the cables and vehicle
trim pieces, if possible.
The next steps will detail installing the Mute Button and connecting power for the button’s LED.

Step 4:
1. The short leads on the button harness, (Figure A) power the button’s LED.
Red is positive, black is negative.
2. Connect the short leads to the traction control button wiring harness. Us-
ing the pair of smaller Posi-Taps, connect the red wire to the
grey wire on the TC button harness and the black wire to the
brown wire on the TC button harness. (Figure B). If you need
to connect to a push start button, lilac / white is (+), brown is
(-).
If your vehicle does not have other buttons that can be used
for lighting power, a power extension is available. Contact Double Apex for
more information.
3. Remove the blank from the desired location in the center tray by pushing
it out from the back side. Insert the Mute Button. (Figure C)
4. Reinstall the center tray. Align the back side of the tray with the back of
the recess and connect the orange connector to the Mute Button.

Step 4 Continued:
5. Once the other connections to your radar detector have been made, test the system.
6. Secure any cable slack as needed with the included zip ties.
7. Complete the reinstallation of the center console and any other vehicle trim.

Limited Warranty
Double Apex LLC warrants this product, Mute Button, to be free from defects in materials and workman-
ship for one year from date of purchase to the original retail Purchaser.
Double Apex LLC reserves the right to repair or replace the defective product at their discretion, without
charge. This is the only remedy the purchaser has for any loss or damage due to any defect in the prod-
uct. This warranty does not cover labor, lost profits, down time or loss of use, shipping costs, damage to
the vehicle or other incidental, indirect or consequential damages.
This warranty is void if the product is misused, abused or installed incorrectly.
The Purchaser is responsible for ensuring that the product is installed correctly and should immediately
stop use of the product if an improper or unsafe condition is observed.
Please contact Double Apex LLC to make a warranty claim before returning the product.
