1 Safety Instructions
The manufacturer accepts no liability for damage in the following cases:
• Faulty assembly or connection
• Damage to the product resulting from mechanical influences and incorrect connec-
tion voltage
• Alterations to the product without express permission from the manufacturer
• Use for purposes other than those described in this manual
1.1 General Safety
DANGER!
• Only with stationary cooling (optional): In stationary operation the transport
refrigeration system operates with a voltage of 230 V which causes a risk of death.
Ensure that you do not come into contact with live parts.
WARNING!
• Assembly and repair of the transport refrigeration system may only be carried out by
qualified personnel who are familiar with the associated risks and the relevant reg-
ulations. Improper repairs can cause considerable danger. If repairs are necessary,
contact the service center in your country.
• Inhalation of gaseous refrigerant can cause suffocation. Ensure that the refrigerant is
properly drained off with an A/C service unit before opening the cooling system.
• If the transport refrigeration system shows visible damage, it must not be put into
operation.
• Risk of injury due to leaking liquids if the transport refrigeration system is damaged.
Liquids leaking on the floor can cause people to slip and injure themselves. Immedi-
ately wipe up any leaking or dripping liquids or absorb them with a suitable binding
agent and dispose of them in an environmentally friendly manner.
1.2 Safety during Installation
WARNING!
• The installation may only be carried out by persons who have a certificate of compe-
tence, for example in accordance with EC Regulation 307/2008, for installation and
start-up of transport refrigeration systems.
• Wear protective clothing (especially eye protection and protective gloves) when
working on the transport refrigeration system.

3 Flushing the transport refrigeration system
Flushing the Dometic Frigo DC transport refrigeration system is mandatory if the compressor is
mechanically damaged. Flushing may also be necessary to completely remove refrigerant oil
remaining in the system.
During the flushing process, refrigerant oil residues and mechanical contaminants are removed
from the refrigerant circuit.
3.1 General instructions for flushing
Additional equipment needed for flushing the transport refrigeration system:
• A/C service station with rinsing tank
CAUTION!
• The contact with live electrical components can cause injuries. There is a risk of
electric shock when connecting the electrical components. Disconnect the battery
before starting installation work. Make sure that no voltage is transmitted to the
electrical components.
• The transport refrigeration system may only be flushed by qualified personnel of
a specialist company who are familiar with the applicable guidelines and safety
regulations.
• Improper flushing of the transport refrigeration system can endanger the safety of
the user and lead to irreparable damage to the unit.
• The manufacturer assumes no liability for malfunctions and for the safety of the
transport refrigeration system, in particular for personal injury and/or damage to
property, if the transport refrigeration system is not flushed in accordance with these
service instructions.
• Always wear the recommended protective clothing (e. g. safety goggles, gloves).
NOTE!
• To ensure optimal flow during flushing, disassemble components and bridge them
with adapters (see chapter 4.1 or chapter 5.1).
• Replace hose lines or components that cannot be integrated into the rinse cycle or

clean them separately.
• Before starting work, empty the waste oil container of the service station to allow
a visual check of the waste oil separated aer disposal and the waste oil separated
aer the flushing process.
• Replace the filter on the rinse tank before the flushing process.
• Always flush the transport refrigeration system against the general flow direction.
• Fill sufficient refrigerant into the service station. Otherwise the flushing process
cannot be started.
• The service station carries out the flushing process three times in a row.
4 Flushing of refrigerant oil residues
4.1 Preparations
NOTE!
• Before flushing, start up the transport refrigeration system for a few minutes
and remove the refrigerant oil via the high-pressure connection. This allows as
much refrigerant oil as possible to be sucked out of the transport refrigeration
system before flushing.
• When flushing refrigerant oil residues, the expansion valve and capillary tube
can remain mounted on the evaporator.
Prepare the flushing as follows:
1. Connect the A/C service station to the transport refrigeration system and dispose of
the transport refrigeration system’s refrigerant oil completely.
2. Aer emptying the transport refrigeration system, take a note of the amount of refrig-
erant oil separated. The noted value is added to the total amount aer the flushing
process.
3. Perform the steps as shown (fig. 2 - fig. 8).
NOTE!
When the magnetic valve opener (fig. 1 4) is put on and the magnetic valve is
tightened, you must hear a distinct clicking sound. If you do not hear a clicking
sound, replace the magnetic valve opener rotated by 180° (fig. 8).
5. Perform the steps as shown (fig. 9 - fig. a).
4.2 Perform the flushing process
1. Make sure that the waste oil container of the service station is empty.
2. Select “Other selections” from the service station menu.
3. Select the entry “Flushing”.
4. Select the entry “Full flushing”.
5. Press the ENTER key to start the flushing process.

6. Aer completion of the flushing process, check the amount of waste oil separated in
the waste oil container of the service station (fig. b).
NOTE!
Ensure that the total amount of coolant oil is approximately reached aer the
flushing process. Add the amount of waste oil collected to the amount of coolant
oil flushed out. If the amount of oil flushed out is not sufficient, start another
flushing process.
4.3 Activities aer the flushing process
1. Remove all flushing adapters from the lines.
2. Install a new filter dryer.
3. Mount the removed magnetic coil back onto the magnetic valve.
NOTICE!
• If the compressor remains in the transport refrigeration system, remove the re-
maining coolant oil from the compressor and then refill it with the prescribed
total oil quantity.
• When replacing the compressor, it is not necessary to check the coolant
oil quantity, as a new compressor already contains the prescribed total oil
quantity.
4. Make sure that the compressor contains sufficient coolant oil.
5. If necessary, fill the compressor with the prescribed total amount of oil (200 ml, Zerol
Ester 68 SL or WAECO SE 55 POE).
6. Perform a complete functional test of the transport refrigeration system.
5 Flushing of mechanical impurities
5.1 Preparations
NOTICE!
To protect your A/C service unit, the refrigerant must be recovered via the
low-pressure connection. This ensures that most contaminants remain in the
cooling system and do not enter your service unit.
1. Connect the A/C service station to the transport refrigeration system and dispose of
the transport refrigeration system’s refrigerant oil completely.
2. Perform the steps as shown (fig. 2 - fig. 8).
NOTE!
When the magnetic valve opener (fig. 1 4) is put on and the magnetic valve is
tightened, you must hear a distinct clicking sound. If you do not hear a clicking
sound, replace the magnetic valve opener rotated by 180° (fig. 8).

5.2 Perform the flushing process
1. Make sure that the waste oil container of the service station is emptied.
2. Select “Other selections” from the service station menu.
3. Select the entry “Flushing”.
4. Select the entry “Full flushing”.
5. Press the ENTER key to start the rinsing process.
5.3 Activities aer the flushing process
NOTICE!
In case of heavy mechanical impurities, carry out another flushing procedure to
ensure that all impurities are flushed out of the cooling system. Any impurities
remaining in the cooling system can cause damage to the compressor and impair
the function of the transport refrigeration system.
1. Aer the flushing process, check whether impurities are visible in the waste oil contain-
er (fig. b) or in the sight glass of the rinsing container (fig. c).
2. Disassemble all flushing adapters from the lines and the expansion valve.
3. Replace the filter drier.
4. Replace the magnetic valve.
5. Replace the complete expansion valve with its nozzle.
6. Replace the capillary tube on the expansion valve.
7. Replace the compressor.
8. Perform a complete functional test of the cooling system.

1 Sicherheitshinweise
Der Hersteller übernimmt in folgenden Fällen keine Haung für Schäden:
• Montage- oder Anschlussfehler
• Schäden am Produkt durch mechanische Einflüsse und falsche Anschlussspannung
• Veränderungen am Produkt ohne ausdrückliche Genehmigung des Herstellers
• Verwendung für andere als die in der Anleitung beschriebenen Zwecke
1.1 Grundlegende Sicherheit
GEFAHR!
• Nur bei Standkühlung (optional): Bei einem Standbetrieb arbeitet die Trans-
portkühlanlage mit einer Spannung von 230V, was eine Gefahr darstellt, die zum
Tod führen kann. Stellen Sie sicher, dass Sie nicht mit spannungsführenden Teilen in
Berührung kommen.
WARNUNG!
• Die Montage und die Reparatur der Transportkühlanlage dürfen nur von Fachkräen
durchgeführt werden, die mit den verbundenen Gefahren und den einschlägigen
Vorschrien vertraut sind. Unsachgemäße Reparaturen können erhebliche Gefahren
verursachen. Wenn Reparaturen notwendig sind, wenden Sie sich an das Service-
zentrum in Ihrem Land.
• Das Einatmen von gasförmigem Kältemittel kann zum Ersticken führen. Stellen Sie
sicher, dass das Kältemittel vor dem Öffnen der Kühlanlage ordnungsgemäß mit
einem Klimaservicegerät abgelassen wird.
• Weist die Transportkühlanlage sichtbare Schäden auf, darf sie nicht in Betrieb
genommen werden.
• Es besteht Verletzungsgefahr durch austretende Flüssigkeiten, wenn die Transport-
kühlanlage beschädigt ist. Auf den Boden austretende Flüssigkeiten können dazu
führen, dass Personen ausrutschen und sich verletzen. Wischen Sie auslaufende
oder austropfende Flüssigkeiten sofort auf oder nehmen Sie sie mit einem geeigne-
ten Bindemittel auf und entsorgen Sie sie umweltgerecht.
1.2 Sicherheit bei der Montage
WARNUNG!
• Die Montage darf nur von Personen durchgeführt werden, die über einen Befähi-
gungsnachweis, z. B. nach der EG-Verordnung 307/2008, für die Montage und
Inbetriebnahme von Transportkühlanlagen verfügen.
• Bei Arbeiten an der Transportkühlanlage ist Schutzkleidung (insbesondere Augen-
schutz und Schutzhandschuhe) zu tragen.

3 Spülen der Transportkühlanlage
Das Spülen der Dometic Frigo DC Transportkühlanlage ist obligatorisch, wenn der Kompressor
mechanische Schäden aufweist. Das Spülen kann auch notwendig sein, um das in der Anlage
verbliebene Kältemittelöl vollständig zu entfernen.
Während des Spülvorgangs werden Kältemittelölreste und mechanische Verunreinigungen aus
dem Kältemittelkreislauf entfernt.
3.1 Allgemeine Hinweise zum Spülen
Erforderliche Zusatzausrüstung für das Spülen der Transportkühlanlage:
• Klimaservicestation mit Spülbehälter
VORSICHT!
• Der Kontakt mit stromführenden elektrischen Komponenten kann zu Verletzungen
führen. Es besteht die Gefahr eines Stromschlags beim Anschließen der elektri-
schen Komponenten. Klemmen Sie die Batterie vor Beginn der Montagearbeiten
ab. Stellen Sie sicher, dass keine Spannung auf die elektrischen Komponenten
übertragen wird.
• Die Transportkühlanlage darf nur von qualifiziertem Personal einer Fachfirma gespült
werden, das mit den geltenden Richtlinien und Sicherheitsvorschrien vertraut ist.
• Unsachgemäßes Spülen der Transportkühlanlage kann die Sicherheit des Benutzers
gefährden und zu irreparablen Schäden an der Anlage führen.
• Wenn die Transportkühlanlage nicht gemäß dieser Serviceanleitung gespült wird,
übernimmt der Hersteller keinerlei Haung für Betriebsstörungen und für die
Sicherheit der Transportkühlanlage, insbesondere nicht für Personen- und/oder
Sachschäden.

• Tragen Sie bei allen Arbeiten die vorgeschriebene Schutzbekleidung (z.B. Schutz-
brille, Handschuhe).
HINWEIS:
• Um einen optimalen Durchfluss während des Spülens zu gewährleisten, sind die
Komponenten zu demontieren und mit Adaptern zu überbrücken (siehe Kapitel 4.1
oder Kapitel 5.1).
• Tauschen Sie Schlauchleitungen oder Komponenten, die nicht in den Spülzyklus
integriert werden können, aus oder reinigen Sie sie separat.
• Entleeren Sie vor Arbeitsbeginn den Altölbehälter der Servicestation, um eine
Sichtkontrolle des nach der Entsorgung abgeschiedenen Altöls und des nach dem
Spülvorgang abgeschiedenen Altöls zu ermöglichen.
• Tauschen Sie vor dem Spülvorgang den Filter am Spülbehälter aus.
• Spülen Sie die Transportkühlanlage immer entgegen der allgemeinen Durchfluss-
richtung.
• Füllen Sie ausreichend Kältemittel in die Servicestation ein. Andernfalls kann der
Spülvorgang nicht gestartet werden.
• Die Servicestation führt den Spülvorgang dreimal hintereinander durch.
4 Spülen von Kältemittelölresten
4.1 Vorbereitung
HINWEIS:
• Nehmen Sie vor dem Spülen die Transportkühlanlage für einige Minuten in
Betrieb und entfernen Sie das Kältemittelöl über den Hochdruckanschluss. So
kann vor dem Spülen möglichst viel Kältemittelöl aus der Transportkühlanlage
abgesaugt werden.
• Beim Spülen von Kältemittelölresten können das Expansionsventil und das
Kapillarrohr am Verdampfer montiert bleiben.
Bereiten Sie die Spülung wie folgt vor:
1. Schließen Sie die Klimaservicestation an die Transportkühlanlage an und entsorgen Sie
das Kältemittelöl der Transportkühlanlage vollständig.
2. Nach dem Entleeren der Transportkühlanlage notieren Sie sich die Menge des
abgeschiedenen Kältemittelöls. Der notierte Wert wird nach dem Spülprozess zur
Gesamtmenge addiert.
3. Führen Sie die Schritte wie abgebildet durch (fig. 2- fig. 8).
HINWEIS:
Wenn der Magnetventilöffner (fig. 14) aufgesetzt und das Magnetventil fest-
gezogen wird, muss ein deutliches Klickgeräusch zu hören sein. Wenn Sie kein
Klickgeräusch hören, setzen Sie den Magnetventilöffner um 180° gedreht erneut
an (fig. 8).
4. Führen Sie die Schritte wie abgebildet durch (fig. 9- fig. a).
