slight,harmless odorwhen firstused. This

odoris a normalcondition causedby the

notoccur again.

Whenusing electricalappliances, basicprecautions

Fireplace.

burns,do notlet bareskintouch hotsurfaces.

pillows,bedding, papers,clothes, and

curtainsat least3 feet(0.9m) fromthe frontof

theunit.

7. Thefireplaceis notintended foruse in

bathrooms,laundry areasand similarindoor

locations. Neverlocate heaterwhere itmay

fallinto abathtuborotherwater container.

8. Donot runthe cordunder carpeting. Donot

covercord withthrowrugs, runners,orthe

like. Arrangecord away fromtrafficarea and

whereit willnot betripped over.

9. Todisconnectthe unit,turnthe controlsoff,

thenremovethe plugfromthe outlet.

10.Donot insertor allowforeign objects toenter

anyventilation orexhaustopening asthis

maycause anelectricshock orfire, or

damageto theheater.

11.To prevent a possible fire, do not block air

intakeorexhaust inany manner. Donotuse

onsoft surfaces,like a bed,where openings

maybecome blocked.

12.All electricalheaters havehot andarchingor

sparking parts inside. Do not use in areas

wheregasoline, paint,or flammableliquids

areused orstored orwhere the unitwill be

exposedto flammablevapors.

13.Donot modifythe fireplace. Use itonly as

describedin thismanual. Any otheruse not

recommendedbythe manufacturermay

causefire, electricshock orinjury topersons.

14.To reducethe riskof electricshock, this

appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is

widerthan theother). Thisplugwill fitin a

polarizedoutlet onlyoneway. Ifthe plugdoes

notfitfully intheoutlet, reversetheplug. Ifit

stilldoes notfit, contact aqualified electrician

toinstall theproper outlet.Donot changethe

plugin anyway.Avoidthe useof anextension

cord. Extensioncords mayoverheat and

causea riskof fire. Ifyou mustuse an

extensioncord, thecord mustbe No.16

relocationof theunit.

20. Whentransporting orstoringthe unitand

cord, keep in a dry place, free from

excessive vibration and store so as to avoid

damage.

required. Adedicated circuit is preferred but not

essential in all cases. Adedicated circuit will be

requiredif, afterinstallation, thecircuit breakertrips

1. Makesurethe unitsMAIN ON/OFFswitchis

switchedOFF (referto operatinginstruction

section).

2. Plugthe unitinto a15Amp/120VAC outlet. If

thecord doesnot reach,you mayusean

extensioncord ratedfora minimumof 1875

watts.

Switch1 (I) Controlstheelectricity supplytothe

heaterand flameeffect.

Note:This switchmust beinthe ON

(I)position forheater tooperate with

orwithoutheat.

Switch2 (I) Provides600 Wheat output.

Switch3(II) Provides 1200W heatoutput with

switch2.

RESETTING THE TEMPERATURE CUTOFF

SWITCH

Shouldthe heateroverheat,an automaticcutout will

turnthe heateroff andit willnot comeback on

withoutbeing reset. Itcan bereset byswitching the

MAINON/OFF SWITCHto OFFand waiting5

minutesbefore switchingthe unitbackon.

Ifyouneed tocontinuouslyresetthe heater,unplug

theunit andcall customerserviceat

1-800-668-6663.

MAINTENANCE

WARNING: Alwaysdisconnect fromthepower

supplybefore attemptinganymaintenance.

Bulb Replacement - see Fig.’s 3, 4 & 5

Thereare twobulbs locatedunder theember bed.

To gainaccess tothe bulbs,remove thecoal/

pebblesand placein acontainer.Remove thefront

panel fromthe fireplaceby liftingit upand outfrom

theslots onthe fireplace -see Fig.3.

Removethe rotisserieby carefullyslidingthe rubber

connecteroff themotor shaft- seeFig. 4.

Removethe defectivebulb byunscrewingit as

shownin Fig.5.

Replace with a 60W E12 clear chandelier or

candelabrabulb.Takecare nottoover-tighten the

bulb.Refitthe frontpaneland replacethe coal/

pebbles.
