Congratulations. You have purchased a Regent 500 watt halogen

floodlight. This floodlight is perfect for security lighting or for illuminating

signs, recreational areas, and buildings.

What to know

• For outdoor use only.

•UL and CSA LISTED for wet

locations.

•Fixture must be connected to 120 Volt, 60 Hz power source. Any other

connection voids warranty.

•Fixture should be mounted to a grounded junction box marked for use

in wet locations.

• Keep away from flammable objects. Do not mount body of

fixture within 1” of any combustible material.

•The bulb and fixture get extremely hot during use.

•Always replace bulb with the same or lower wattage than the bulb

included. Installing a higher wattage bulb could create a fire hazard

and shorten the life of the bulb. Use of higher wattage bulbs will void

the warranty.

• Never touch the bulb with your bare hands. Handle the bulb with gloves

or a soft cloth. Oil from your skin can cause premature failure.

• For maximum bulb life, position light so that

the halogen bulb remains within 4 degrees of

horizontal.

•If lens is replaced, use only tempered safety

glass of equal thickness.

•Fixture should be installed by persons with experience in household

wiring or by a qualified electrician. The electrical system and the

method of electrically connecting the fixture to it must be in accordance

with the National Electrical Code and local building codes.

Installing the bulb

Step 1: Loosen screws that hold lens retaining clips in place.

Step 2: When screws become loose, rotate clips away from fixture and

remove glass lens.

Step 3: Using gloves or a soft cloth, gently insert bulb by pressing one

end into the spring loaded socket and repeat with the opposite

end. Bulb should fit securely into contacts.

Step 4: Replace the glass lens and tighten the screws

that hold the lens retaining clips.

NOTE: Be sure lens gasket is installed correctly around

upper portion of housing (E).

Assembling your fixture

Step 1: Loosen the swivel bolt (F) located on

the back of the fixture.

Step 2: Thread the junction box coverplate

(I) onto the mounting arm (G).

Step 3: Secure the locknut (H) to the

coverplate.

NOTE: Your fixture is factory assembled

for wall or ground mount use. If fixture is

to be used for eave mounting, the screw

holding the mounting arm must be loos-

ened and the mounting arm repositioned

(J). Retighten mounting arm screw when

completed. Be sure fixture is always

mounted in the UP position (note UP

arrow on housing).

Wiring your fixture

Step 1: TURN OFF POWER SUPPLY.

Step 2: Connect the black wire to the black supply wire (hot).

Step 3: Connect the white wire to the white supply wire (neutral).

Step 4: Connect the ground wire to the supply ground or a grounded

junction box. NOTE: Be careful to connect the wires correct-

ly. Make sure no bare strands of wire extend from the wire

nut or other approved wire connector (not provided). Apply

silicone caulk around the junction box to ensure a water-

tight seal.

Step 5: Attach fixture and coverplate to junction box and fasten securely.

NOTE: This fixture can be used with a dimmer switch to adjust

light output. To install a dimmer switch: Use a dimmer switch

designed for incandescent lighting that has a rating of 500 watts

or higher. Follow the installation instructions included with the

dimmer switch. Keeping the halogen bulb in a dim mode for

an extended period of time may shorten the life of the bulb.

To achieve maximum bulb life, occasionally turn switch to

full brightness for a few hours.

Two year limited warranty

Cooper Lighting (“the Company”) warrants this product (“the product”)

against defects in material or workmanship for a period of two years from

date of original purchase, and agrees to repair or, at the Company’s

option, replace a defective product without charge for either replacement

parts or labor during such time. This does not include labor to remove or

install fixtures. This warranty is extended only to the original purchaser of

the product. A purchaser’s receipt or other proof of date of original pur-

chase acceptable to the Company is required before warranty perfor-

mance shall be rendered.

This warranty only covers product failure due to defects in materials or

workmanship which occurs in normal use. It does not cover the bulb or

failure of the product caused by accident, misuse, abuse, lack of reason-

able care, alteration, faulty installation, subjecting the product to any but

the specified electrical service or any other failure not resulting from

defects in materials or workmanship. Damage to the product caused by

separately purchased, non-Company brand replacement bulbs and corro-

sion or discoloration of brass components are not covered by this warran-

ty. There are no express warranties except as described above.

THE COMPANY SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL

OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES RESULTING FROM THE USE OF

THE PRODUCT OR ARISING OUT OF ANY BREACH OF THIS WAR-

RANTY. ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, IF ANY, INCLUDING IMPLIED

WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICU-

LAR PURPOSE, ARE LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE DURATION OF

THIS EXPRESS WARRANTY. Some states do not allow the exclusion or

limitation of incidental or consequential damages, or limitations on how

long an implied warranty lasts, so the above exclusions or limitations may

not apply to you.

No other warranty, written or verbal, is authorized by the Company. This

warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights

which vary from state to state.

To obtain warranty service, please write to Cooper Lighting, 2611 La Vista

Drive, Burlington, NC 27215. Enclose product model number and prob-

lems you are experiencing, along with your address and telephone num-

ber. You will then be contacted with a solution, or a Return Goods

Authorization number and full instructions for returning the product. All

returned products must be accompanied by a Return Goods Authorization

Number issued by the Company and must be returned freight prepaid.

Any product received without a Return Goods Authorization Number

from the Company will be refused.

Cooper Lighting is not responsible for merchandise damaged in transit.

Repaired or replaced products shall be subject to the terms of this warran-

ty and are inspected when packed. Evident or concealed damage that is

made in transit should be reported at once to the carrier making the deliv-

ery and a claim filed with them.

Qué necesita saber

•El portalámparas debe estar conectado a una fuente de energía de

120 Voltios, 60 Hz. Cualquier otro tipo de conexión anula la garantía.

•El portalámparas debe conectarse a una caja de conexiones con toma

a tierra marcada para el uso en áreas húmedas.

•Manténgalo alejado de objetos inflamables. No instale el

•El foco y el portalámparas se calientan extremadamente durante su

prematuros.

• Para que el foco dure el mayor tiempo posi-

ble, coloque la luz de manera que el foco haló-

gena quede a 4 grados de la línea horizontal.

•Si se reemplaza el vidrio, utilice solo vidrio de seguridad compactado

de igual grosor.

•El portalámparas debe ser instalado por personas con experiencia en

cableado doméstico o por un electricista calificado. El sistema eléctrico

y el método de conexión eléctrica del portalámparas debe cumplir con

el Código eléctrico nacional y los códigos locales sobre edificios.

Instalación de el foco

Paso 1: Afloje los tornillos que sujetan el vidrio y mantenga las presillas

en su lugar.

Paso 2: Cuando los tornillos estén sueltos, gire las presillas en dirección

opuesta al portalámparas y retire el vidrio.

Paso 3: Con guantes o un paño suave, con cuidado introduzca el foco

ejerciendo presión en uno de los extremos para que encaje en

uno de los casquillos de muelle y repita el mismo procedimiento

con el otro extremo. El foco debe cazar con precisión dentro de

los contactos.

Paso 4: Reemplace el vidrio y apriete los tornillos que

sujetan las presillas de retención del vidrio.

NOTA: Asegúrese de que la junta obturadora de vidrio

está instalada correctamente alrededor de la parte

superior del alojamiento (E).

Ensamblaje del portalámparas

Paso 1: Afloje el perno giratorio (F)

ubicado en la parte posterior del

portalámparas.

Paso 2: Enrosque la placa de cierre de la

caja de conexiones (I) en el brazo

de montaje (G).

Paso 3: Fije la contratuerca (H) a la

placa de cierre.

NOTA: Su portalámparas ha sido

ensamblado en la fábrica para montajes

de pared o suelo. Si el portalámparas va

a ser usado para montaje de alero, se

debe aflojar el tornillo que sostiene el

brazo de montaje y reposicionar el

mismo (J). Vuelva a apretar el tornillo

del brazo de montaje cuando haya

terminado. Asegúrese de que el portalámparas esté siempre monta-

do en la posición HACIA ARRIBA (fíjese en la flecha HACIA ARRIBA

del alojamiento).

Paso 2: Conecte el cable negro al cable de suministro negro (activo).

Paso 3: Conecte el cable blanco al cable de suministro blanco (neutro).

Paso 4: Conecte el cable de conexión a tierra al cable de conexión a

tierra del suministro o a una caja de conexiones con toma a

tierra. NOTA: Conecte los cables correctamente. Asegúrese

de que no sale ningún alambre suelto de la tuerca de alam-

bre o de cualquier otro tipo de conector aprobado (no se

incluye). Apliquar un sellador de silicon contra la

intemperie alrededor de la caja de unión, para asegurar la

impermeadbilidad.

Paso 5: Conecte el portalámparas y la placa de cierre a la caja de

conexiones y fíjelos. NOTA: Este portalámparas se puede uti-

lizar con un interruptor de graduación de luz. Instalación de un

interruptor de graduación de luz: Utilice un interruptor de grad-

uación de luz para iluminación incandescente con |una clasifi-

cación de 500 watts o más alta. Siga las instrucciones de insta-

lación que se incluyen con el interruptor de graduación de luz.

Si mantiene el foco halógena en la modalidad más tenue

durante un período largo de tiempo puede que se acorte su

duración. Para obtener la máxima duración, encienda el

foco a su máxima intensidad durante unas horas.

Dos años de garantía limitada

Cooper Lighting (“la Compañía”) garantiza este producto (“el producto”)

contra defectos relacionados con el material o la mano de obra durante

un período de dos años desde la fecha original de compra y se compro-

mete a reparar o, a elección de la Compañía, reemplazar un producto

defectuoso sin cargo alguno ni por las piezas de repuesto ni por la mano

de obra durante el período estipulado. Esto no incluye la mano de obra

para retirar o instalar los portalámparas.

Esta garantía se extiende únicamente al comprador original del producto.

Antes de comenzar a realizar cualquier trabajo bajo esta garantía, se

requerirá el recibo de compra o, en su defecto, cualquier otra prueba de

la fecha de la compra original.

Esta garantía cubre solamente cualquier falla del producto debida a

defectos de los materiales o de la mano de obra que se produzca

durante el uso normal. Esta no cubre el foco o fallas del producto oca-

sionadas por accidentes,descuidos, abusos, falta de cuidados razon-

ables, alteración o instalación incorrecta, sometimiento del producto a

cualquier otro servicio eléctrico diferente al especificado o cualquier otra

falla no resultante de defectos en materiales o en mano de obra. Daños

al producto ocasionados por adquisiciones independientes de repuestos

que no hayan sido fabricados por la Compañía, focos y corrosión o

decoloración de los componentes de bronce tampoco están cubiertos

por esta garantía.

• L’ampoule et le dispositif deviennent très chauds pendant

l’utilisation.

•Remplacez toujours l’ampoule par une ampoule de même

puissance ou de puissance inférieure. L’installation d’une ampoule de

puissance supérieure pourrait créer un risque d’incendie et réduire la

durée de vie de l’ampoule. L’utilisation de telles ampoules annule la

garantie.

•Ne touchez jamais l’ampoule avec vos mains nues. Manipulez-la avec

des gants ou un chiffon doux. L’huile provenant de votre peau pourrait

entraîner une défaillance prématurée.

• Pour une durée maximale de l’ampoule, posi-

tionnez le projecteur afin que l’ampoule

halogène à quartz soit dans les 4 degrés à

l’horizontale.

•S’il faut remplacer la lentille, n’utilisez que du

verre de sécurité trempé de même épaisseur.

•Ce dispositif doit être installé par une personne familière avec l’installa-

tion électrique de la maison ou par un électricien qualifié. Le système

électrique et la méthode du branchement du dispositif à cette installa-

tion électrique doivent respecter les spécifications du Code électrique

national ainsi que les réglementations locales pour le bâtiment.

Installation de l’ampoule

Etape 1 : Desserrez les vis qui maintiennent en place les attaches de

retenue de la lentille.

Etape 2 : Lorsque les vis sont desserrées, faites tourner les attaches en

dehors de la pièce fixe et retirez la lentille en verre.

Etape 3 : A l’aide de gants ou d’un chiffon doux, insérez doucement

l’ampoule dans la douille à ressort en appuyant sur une

extrémité, et faites de même avec l’autre extrémité. L’ampoule

doit être bien en place entre les contacts.

Etape 4 : Remplacez la lentille en verre et serrez les vis

qui maintiennent les attaches de retenue de

la lentille.

NOTE: S’assurer que le joint de lentille est installé cor-

rectement autour de la partie supérieure du boîtier (E).

Assemblage de votre dispositif

Etape 1 : Desserrez le boulon à émerillon

(F) situé à l’arrière du dispositif.

Etape 2 : Vissez le couvercle de protection

de la boîte de connexion (I) sur le

bras de montage (G).

Etape 3 : Fixez le contre-écrou (H) sur le

couvercle de protection.

REMARQUE : Votre dispositif est assem-

blé à l’usine pour montage mural ou à

terre. Si le dispositif doit être monté sur

avant-toit, la vis qui supporte le bras de

montage doit être desserré et le bras de

montage remis en place (J). Finalement,

resserrer la vis du bras de montage.

S’assurer que le dispositif est tou-

jours monté vers le HAUT (noter la

flèche HAUT sur le boîtier).

Câblage de votre dispositif

Etape 1 : COUPEZ L’ELETRICITE.

Etape 2 : Branchez le fil noir au fil noir d’alimentation (fil sous tension).

Etape 3 : Branchez le fil blanc au fil blanc d’alimentation (fil neutre).
