Prepayment kit for SATK series HIUs

Function
The prepayment kit is meant to provide an interface to connect SATK20-30-40-50-60 series
HIUs with external units that manage the prepayment logic for the provision of heating and
domestic hot water to the housing units. In case the tenant runs out of credit, the prepayment
kit disables heating services, commanding the closing of the primary circuit that provides
heating power to the heat interface unit, while the electronic controller returns an error
message (FAULT LED on, with error “80” shown on the display)”.

The following instructions must be read and understood before installing and
maintaining the device.
CAUTION! FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS COULD RESULT IN A
SAFETY HAZARD!
CAUTION: Risk of electric shock. Live parts. Cut off the electric supply before opening the device box.
1 During installation and maintenance procedures, always take care to avoid direct contact with live
or potentially hazardous parts.
2 The device must not be exposed to leakages or humidity, direct sunlight, bad weather, sources of
heat or high-intensity electromagnetic fields. This device cannot be used in areas at risk of
explosion or fire.
3 The device must have a separate connection to an independent bipolar switch. If the equipment
needs maintenance, cut off the electric supply before any work is carried out. Do not use devices
with automatic or timed reset, or which may be reset accidentally.
4 Use suitable automatic protection devices in accordance with the electrical characteristics of the
zone in which the device is installed and in compliance with current legislation.
5 The device must always be earthed before it is connected to the electric supply. If the device needs
to be removed, the earth connection should always be disconnected after the other electrical wires.
Make sure that the building has been earthed professionally, in accordance with current legislation.
6 Electrical installation must only be carried out by a qualified technician, in accordance with legal
requirements.
7 If the power supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or technical
assistance service or qualified technical personnel in order to prevent any risk.

Installation
N B The kit can be used solely in electronic controllers with dedicated wire.
• Disconnect the electric supply to the HIU and to the prepayment external control unit;
• Open the code 789835 box removing the two closing screws;
• Loosen the free gland;
• Make the dedicated wire from the electronic controller of the HIU (identified by the label
shown in the picture below) to pass through the gland;
• Connect the wire according to the instructions in the “electrical connections” paragraph.
• Screw the gland;
• Close the code 789835 box by means of the screws that have previously been removed
and apply the anti-tampering labels in a position useful for the purpose;
• The box can be fixed on the side of the electronic controller by means of the adhesive
velcro; make sure that neither the cables, nor the prepayment kit box touch hot
components of the HIU;
• ass the cable provided with the 789835 kit through one of the holes on the HIU frame
then proceed with connecting the cable provided with the code 789835 kit to the
external unit that manages the prepayment service;
• Reconnect the electric supply to the devices and check that the HIU works correctly.

Electrical connections
The 789835 prepayment kit enables the functions of the HIU when the output potential-free
contact is open. According to the functioning logic of the external prepayment unit, the
electrical connection of the dedicated wire from the electronic controller of the HIU will have
to be carried out as described below:
External prepayment unit that provides 230 V (ac) power supply when credit is available
“Normally closed” connection.
The voltage-free contact will be therefore closed (disabled HIU) with no electric supply to the
code 789835 kit (credit unavailability condition).
External prepayment unit that DOESN’T provide power supply when credit is available
“Normally open” connection.
The voltage-free contact will be therefore closed (disabled HIU) when 230 V (ac) electrical
supply to the code 789835 kit is present (credit unavailability condition).

Funzione
Il kit di abilitazione satellite è un sistema di interfacciamento tra il regolatore elettronico dei
satelliti serie SATK20-30-40-50-60 ed una centralina esterna che gestisce l’erogazione dei
servizi d’utenza mediante un sistema di tipo “prepagato”. In mancanza di consenso da parte
di quest’ultima, il kit provvede alla disabilitazione del satellite d’utenza, comandando la
chiusura del circuito primario che lo alimenta.
In assenza di credito il display del regolatore del satellite mostra l’errore “80”.

ATTENZIONE: Rischio di shock elettrico. arti in tensione. Togliere l’alimentazione elettrica
prima di eseguire qualsiasi operazione.
1. Durante le operazioni di installazione e manutenzione evitare sempre il contatto diretto con
parti in tensione o potenzialmente pericolose.
2. Il dispositivo non deve essere esposto a gocciolii o umidità, alla luce solare diretta, alle
intemperie, a fonti di calore o campi elettromagnetici di elevata intensità. Tale dispositivo
non può essere utilizzato in zone a rischio di esplosione o incendio.
3. Il dispositivo deve essere collegato ad un interruttore bipolare indipendente. In caso fosse
necessario l’intervento sul dispositivo, interrompere prima l’alimentazione elettrica.
Non utilizzare dispositivi con riarmo automatico, a tempo o che possono essere riarmati in
modo accidentale.
4. Utilizzare dispositivi automatici di protezione idonei, in funzione delle caratteristiche
elettriche della zona in cui è montato il dispositivo e della normativa vigente.
5. Il collegamento a terra deve essere effettuato sempre prima di collegare l’alimentazione.
Nel caso fosse necessario rimuovere il dispositivo, il collegamento a terra deve essere
scollegato sempre dopo aver scollegato i conduttori di alimentazione. Verificare che il
collegamento a terra dell’edificio sia realizzato a regola d’arte secondo la normativa
vigente.
6. L'installazione elettrica deve essere eseguita esclusivamente da un tecnico abilitato ai
sensi di legge.
7. Se il cavo di alimentazione è danneggiato, esso deve essere sostituito dal costruttore o dal
suo servizio assistenza tecnica o comunque da una persona con qualifica similare in modo
da prevenire ogni rischio.

Installazione
N B Il kit può essere installato esclusivamente in satelliti forniti di regolatore elettronico con
cavo dedicato.
• Scollegare l’alimentazione elettrica dal satellite e dalla centralina esterna del servizio
prepagato;
• Aprire la scatola del kit di abilitazione satellite, rimuovendo la due viti di chiusura;
• Allentare il pressacavo libero;
• Far passare l’apposito cavetto del regolatore elettronico del satellite (identificato da
specifica etichetta, vedi figura seguente) all’interno del pressacavo;
• Collegare il cavetto secondo quanto indicato nel paragrafo “connessioni elettriche”;
• Avvitare il pressacavo;
• Chiudere la scatola del kit di abilitazione satellite con le viti precedentemente rimosse
ed applicare le etichette antimanomissione in posizione utile allo scopo;
• Fissare eventualmente la scatola del kit prepagato a fianco del regolatore elettronico del
satellite mediante l’apposito velcro; porre attenzione al fatto che né la scatola, né i cavi
vengano in contatto con i componenti caldi del satellite;
• Far passare il cavo precablato al kit di abilitazione satellite attraverso uno degli appositi
fori passacavo disponibili sul telaio del satellite. rocedere quindi con il collegamento
alla centralina esterna che gestisce il servizio prepagato.
• Riattivare l’alimentazione elettrica e verificare il corretto funzionamento del dispositivo.

Connessioni elettriche
Il kit cod. 789835 fornisce l’abilitazione del satellite se il contatto pulito in uscita è aperto.
A seconda della logica di funzionamento della centralina esterna che gestisce il servizio
prepagato, la connessione dovrà essere effettuata nei modi seguenti:
Centralina esterna che fornisce alimentazione a 230V se c’è disponibilità di credito
Collegamento di tipo “normalmente chiuso”.
Il contatto pulito sarà quindi chiuso (satellite disabilitato) in assenza di tensione in ingresso
al kit prepagato (condizione di assenza di credito).
Centralina esterna che NON fornisce alimentazione a 230 V se c’è disponibilità di
credito
Collegamento di tipo “normalmente aperto”.
Il contatto pulito sarà quindi chiuso (satellite disabilitato) in presenza di tensione in ingresso
al kit prepagato (condizione di assenza di credito).
