Fitting XL Latchbolt - Part No. BLGATELATCHNEW
To t the XL latchbolt, the existing latchbolt will need to be removed. The tools required to t are a 1.5mm (1/16”)
hex key and 4mm (3/16”) hex key.
Please Note: Before
following step 1, it is advised that the 2 x grub screws are heated with hot water to
.
release the thread lock. Take extreme care when pouring hotwater onto the grub screws.
1. Using a 1.5mm (1/16”) hex key, remove the 2 x hex head grub screws located either side of the latch sleeve
As per Fig.1 and Fig.2 below.

2. Using a 4mm (3/16”) hex key, remove the hex head bolt located in the end of the latchbolt as per Fig.3. Keep this
bolt, as this will be needed when the XL latchbolt is tted.
3. Holding the latchbolt sleeve, grip and rotate the latchbolt anti-clockwise until it comes away from the sleeve - as
per Fig.4

4. Ensure that the 2 x ball bearings are in line with the holes either side of the XL latchbolt as per Fig.5. If there is
not already - place a small amount of grease around the ball bearings to ensure they do fall out of the holes. With
the bearings in position, screw the threaded part of the XL latchbolt (clockwise) into the latchbolt sleeve until both
halves join as per Fig.6.
