1About this document
This document shows the necessary information to do these tasks on the Puck or on the
Wi-Fi Box in combination with the Bellfires Gas app:
• Installation
• Operation
This document is an essential part of your appliance. Read it carefully before you do work
on the appliance. Keep it in a safe place.
The original instructions of the document are in English. All other language versions of
the document are translations of the original instructions. It is not always possible to
provide a detailed illustration of every single item of the equipment. The illustrations are
for instructional use only. Screenshots of the Bellfires Gas app are from an Apple IPad.
The screenshots of the Bellfires Gas app on other mobile devices can be different.

3Description
3.1 Intended use
3.1.1 Wi-Fi Box
The Wi-Fi Box is intended for indoor use in combination with a Bellfires gas appliance
and with the Bellfires Gas app in combination with a hand set or Puck. Do not use it for
other purposes.
3.1.2 Puck
The Puck is intended for indoor use in combination with a Bellfires gas appliance. It can
be used in combination with the Wi-Fi Box. Do not use it for other purposes.
3.2 Overview
3.2.1 Overview of the Wi-Fi Box

3.2.2 LED indication
The Wi-Fi Box has two LED's with colors red/green/blue.

3.2.3 Overview of the Puck
Item Description
A ON/OFF button To start or stop the appliance

4Requirements
4.1 Wi-Fi router (for Wi-Fi Box only)
Minimum requirements Wi-Fi router:
• Compatible with IEEE 802.11n/g/b
• WPA2 encryption
• Radio frequency: 2.4 GHz
• Wireless auto channel: Automated search for Wi-Fi radio channel free of interference
• Support of the User Datagram Protocol (UDP)
• Connection to mDNS is required to make sure Easy Commission Process works.
If the Wi-Fi router is part of a business network, or if the router is applicable for use in a
business network, the User Datagram Protocol (UDP) and/or broadcasting must be
enabled. Refer to the manual of the router.
Note:
At the end of the installation procedure, the initial router settings can be
restored, if necessary.
4.2 Receiver
• Symax-2 receiver. This type can be recognized by a blue sticker attached to it.
Contact your dealer if you have a receiver with a green sticker (Symax-1) or a silver
sticker (GV60).
• The Symax-2 receiver must have a power supply by means of a 6 VDC adapter.
Batteries are not sufficient to power the Wi-Fi Box.
Note:
The Puck works only with a Symax-2 receiver with production code 'CN'
or higher. This code can be found in the lower right corner of the blue sticker
on the receiver.
4.3 Handset (for Wi-Fi Box only)
The Wi-Fi Box works only with the 8-button or 10-button Symax-2 handset with a blue
sticker attached to it.
Contact your dealer if you have a handset with a green sticker (Symax-1) or with a silver
sticker (GV60).
4.4 Mobile device (for Wi-Fi Box only)
• Tablet or smartphone with IOS 8.0 / Android 4.2 or higher.

5Installation of the Wi-Fi Box
1. Make sure you have a Symax-2 receiver and a Symax-2 handset (8 or 10 buttons).
Both can be recognized by the blue sticker. If not, contact your dealer.
2. Connect the 4-wire cable on the connector marked '
'SI '
on the receiver.
3. Connect the other side of the 4-wire cable on the connector marked '
'receiver'
on the

4. Make sure LED 1 is green. If not, check the connection to the receiver.

6Connecting the Puck
1. Remove the lid of the battery compartment at the back of the Puck.
2. Put 2 batteries (type AAA, 1.5 Volt) in the battery compartment. Make sure the
batteries are put correctly as indicated in the battery holder.
3. Put the lid on the battery compartment.
4. On the Symax-2 receiver, press the Reset button (refer to the User Manual of the
appliance) until 2 beeps are heard.
5. After the second beep release the Reset button.
6. Within 20 seconds after release of the Reset button, press the '
'-'
button on the Puck.
Note:
It is not necessary to connect the Puck again after the batteries have
been changed. The Puck stays connected with the receiver
Important:
To prevent damage to the electronics, do not use metal tools to
remove the batteries.
Important:
• Remove old or dead batteries immediately to prevent damage to the Puck.
• Prevent exposure of the batteries to direct sunlight, too much heat, fire,
moisture of too much force.
• Make sure batteries are kept with their recommended temperature limits (0
ºC to 55 ºC).
• New and old batteries and different brands of batteries must not be used
together.
