This manual is for the using method, troubleshooting and maintenance about

IN480 series biological microscope. Please study this manual thoroughly before

operating, and keep it with the instrument. The manufacturer reserves the rights to

1. As the microscope is a high precision

instrument, always operate it with care, and

avoid physical shake during the operation.

2. Do not expose the microscope in the sun

light directly, neither in the high temperature,

damp, dust or acute shake. Make sure the

worktable is flat and horizontal.

Operating environment: temperature

5℃~40℃, maximum relative humidity 80%.

3. When moving the microscope, use both hands

to hold its stand arm ②and the front base

①, and lay it down carefully (see Fig. 1).

4. The microscope power should be grounded to

avoid lightning strike.

5. For safety, make sure the main switch③is at

“O” (off) and power it off before replacing

the bulb or fuse. Wait until the lamp cools

down.

★Bulb selected only: 6V/30W Halogen light

(Philips 5761).

6. Universal voltage is supported as 90~240V.

Additional transformer is not necessary. Make

sure the voltage is in this range.

7. Use the special cord supplied by our company.

Maintenance

1. Wipe the lens gently with a soft tissue. Carefully wipe off the oil marks and fingerprints

on the lens surfaces with a tissue moistened with a small amount of 3:7 mixture of

alcohol and ether or dimethylbenzene.

★As alcohol and ether is flammable, don’t place these chemical near to fire or fire

source. When turning on or off the electrical device, place these chemicals in a

ventilated place.

2. Don’t use organic solution to wipe the surfaces of the other components. Please use the

neutral detergent if necessary.

3. If the microscope is damped by liquid when using, please power it off immediately and

wipe it dry.

4. Never disassemble the microscope by yourself.

5. After using, cover the microscope with a dust cover.

2-1 Assembling Scheme

Following is the Assembling Scheme, and the numbers denote the assembling order.

★Before assembling, make sure there is no dust or dirt. Assemble carefully and do not scrap

any part or touch the glass surface.

★Save the hex spanner. It will be used when changing the parts.

2-2-1 Assemble and change the bulb (see Fig.1)

◎Lamp selected only: 6V/30W HAL bulb

(Philips 5761)

★Do not touch the bulb with finger. If there

is a fingerprint, wipe it with clean and soft

cloth.

1. Hold the bulb ①with clean glove or gauze

and insert the pins ②to the jack ②. Make

sure the bulb is vertical.

★Insert the bulb gently to avoid damage.

2. Change the bulb. The bulb will become very

hot when using or after using. Before replacing

the bulb, turn off the main power (The main

switch is at “O” and disconnect the power

cord) and wait until the lamp holder and bulb

cool down.

2-2-2 Assemble Lamp House Cover (see Fig. 2)

1. Slide down lamp house cover①by groove

until the hole②on the cover①is aligned to

the screw hole②.

2. Tighten lock screw③into screw hole②.

2-2-3 Assemble the Objective (see Fig.3&Fig.4)

1. Rotate the coarse focusing knob①to lower the

nosepiece to the lowest position (see Fig.3).

★★★★ To make the instrument safe in

transit, please set he nosepieces to the lowest

position after use. Please turn the adjusting

ring②of the coarse adjustment knob to the

proper tension. (see Fig.3)

2. Screw the objectives into the microscope

nosepiece from the lowest magnification to

the highest in a clockwise direction from the

rear.

◎For ease of use, please following this

assemble direction.

◎It can also be assembled by aperture on the

stage.

★★★★ Clean the objectives periodically

because the inverted microscope objectives are

sensitive.

★★★★ Cover the hole on the nosepiece with

a dust cap③to avoid the dust and the dirt. (see

Fig.4)

★★★★ Search and focus the sample starting

from low magnification objective (4X or 10X).

Then change to the high power magnification

ones if needed.

★★★★ After the objective replaced, rotate the

objective nosepiece until it sounds “ka-da” to

make sure the objective is in the center of light

path.

2-2-4 Assemble the Stage extension board/

Attachable mechanical stage (see Fig.5&Fig.6)

◎Stage extension board could be assembled on

both left side and right side to extend the work

stage. But the stage extension board and the

attachable mechanical stage cannot be used at

the same side.

◎Attachable mechanical stage generally is

assembled on the right.

1. Assemble stage extension board. Tighten the

lock screw①on stage extension board. Then

screw it from bottom right or bottom left.

Use the small tools to tighten till the board

is installed firmly.(see Fig.5)

2. Assemble attachable mechanical stage

Assemble it as the stage extension board (see

Fig.6).

2-2-5 Circular central stage (see Fig.7)

1. Assemble the metal stage①on the stage

aperture. Turn the metal stage V②facing to

the user. It is easier to check the objective.

2. Lay glass stage flat when using it. There is

special direction.

2-2-6 Assemble the Eyepiece (see Fig.8)

1. Remove the cover of eyepiece tube①.

2. Insert the eyepiece②into the eyepiece tube

fully.

2-2-7 Assemble the Condenser (see Fig.9)

1. Loosen the condenser fixing rod②until

aligned with the condenser holder③inner

wall.

2. Push condenser①into condenser holder③

as arrow direction. Make it staying

vertically.

3. Tighten condenser fixing rod②.
