This symbol provides useful additional information for assembling or
operating the device.
The Australian Regulatory Compliance Mark (RCM) is a single compli-
ance mark used by suppliers after establishing compliance with all
applicable regulations, including EMC, telecoms, radiocoms, electro-
magnetic radiation (EMR) and electrical safety.
Proper use
This is a home entertainment device. The device is intended for radio reception, as
well as for playing sound media (SD cards and USB drives).
The device is only intended for private use and not for industrial/commercial use.
The specified reception frequency range represents the technical possibilities of the
device. Information received outside this range may not be used or further distribut-
ed. The respective national laws must be observed.
Please note that we shall not be liable in cases of improper use:
• Do not modify the device without our consent and do not use any auxiliary
equipment that we have not approved or supplied.
• Only use replacement parts or accessories that we have supplied or approved.
• Comply with all the information in this user manual, especially the safety infor-
mation. Any other use is considered improper and can cause personal injury or
property damage.
• Do not use the device in extreme environmental conditions. Avoid:
• high humidity or wet conditions
• extremely high or low temperatures

Risk of injury to persons with limited physical, sensory or mental
abilities (for example, partially disabled people or older people
with limited physical or mental abilities) or to those without expe-
rience and knowledge (such as older children).
− Keep the device and its accessories out of the reach of children.
− This device can be used by children over the age of 8 and by
persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities or by
those without experience and/or knowledge, if they are super-
vised or have been instructed in the safe use of the device and
have understood the dangers that result from it.
− Children must not be allowed to play with the device.
− Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried out by
children.
− Children younger than 8 must be kept away from the device
and the mains cable.
− Do not store any of the packaging material used (bags, polysty-
rene etc.) within the reach of children.
− Do not allow children to play with the packaging material. The
packaging material is not a toy!

Operating safety
• Before using the device, inspect it for damage. A damaged
or defective device or a defective mains adapter must not be
used.
• Never allow children to use electrical devices unattended.
DANGER!
Risk of choking and suffocation!
Packaging film can be swallowed or used improperly, creating a
risk of choking and suffocation.
− Keep packaging material such as plastic film or plastic bags
away from children.
− Do not let children play with the packaging material.
Installation location
• The device should only be placed on level, stable surfaces.
• Protect the device from knocks and vibrations.
The device is not designed for use in rooms with high humidity
levels (e.g. bathrooms). Make sure that you do the following:
• To ensure adequate ventilation, do not cover the vents.
Ventilation must not be impeded by covering up the vents with
objects like newspapers, tablecloths, curtains, etc .
• Allow at least 10 cm clearance at the sides and top of the device
if it is placed on a shelf or a similar enclosed space.
• Do not expose the device to extreme temperatures.
• Do not expose the device to direct sources of heat (e.g. heaters,
sunlight).

• Do not place naked flames (for example, lit candles) near or on
the device.
• Avoid contact with moisture, water and splashes. Do not place
any objects filled with liquid, for example vases, on or next to
the device.
• Do not place the device close to magnetic fields (for example,
televisions or other speakers).
Repairs
• Contact customer services if:
−the mains cable is burnt or damaged
−liquid has penetrated the device
−the device is not operating correctly
−the device has been dropped or the housing is damaged.
• Repairs to your device should only be carried out by qualified
specialists.
Ambient temperature
• The device can be operated at an ambient tempera-
ture of 0°C to +35°C and at a relative humidity of < 80%
(non-condensing).
• When switched off, the device can be stored at temperatures of
between -20°C and +60°C.

Risk of electric shock!
Major changes in temperature or fluctuations in humidity can
cause moisture to build up within the device due to condensation
– this can cause an electrical short circuit.

− After transporting the device, wait until it has reached ambient
temperature before switching it on.
Power supply
• Only operate the protection class II device on a 220-240 V~,
50/60 Hz earthed power socket that is close by and easy to ac-
cess, or by inserting 4x 1.5 V, R20/LR20/D batteries into the bat-
tery compartment.

Risk of electric shock!
Even when the device is switched off, some components are live.
In order to interrupt the power supply to your device or to com-
pletely disconnect the device from any power source, pull the
mains plug out of the socket and remove the batteries from the
device.
• Make sure that the mains cable does not present a trip hazard.
The mains cable must not be trapped or pinched or run across
hot surfaces.
• Before cleaning, pull the plug out of the mains socket.

Risk of electric shock!
The device contains live parts. They pose a risk of electric shock or
fire if an unintentional short circuit occurs.
− Never open the housing and never insert any objects through
the slots and openings into the device!
• Do not place any objects on the cable as this may damage it.
• Keep the device at a distance of at least one metre from sources
of high-frequency or magnetic interference (televisions, speak-
ers, mobile telephones etc.) to avoid malfunctions and data loss.

• In an emergency, for example if you see smoke coming out of
the device or if it makes unusual noises, unplug the mains plug
and/or remove the batteries.
• The plug must always be easy to reach in an emergency. For
this reason, it is important that the power socket is always easi-
ly accessible.
• The device uses a small amount of electricity, even when it is
switched off. To completely switch off the device, either unplug
it from the power socket or remove the batteries from the bat-
tery compartment.
• Always hold the plug when disconnecting it from the socket.
Never pull on the cable.
• Never unplug the mains plug with wet hands. Danger of an
electric shock!
• Unplug the device from the power socket if it is not going to
be used for a longer period of time (for example, if you go on
holiday), or during a thunderstorm where there is the risk of a
lightning strike.
Batteries
The device and remote control are battery-operated. Please note
the following:
• Keep new and used batteries out of the reach of children. Do
not swallow batteries as they can cause chemical burns. Batter-
ies are not a toy!
• Avoid contact with battery acid. If battery acid comes into con-
tact with skin, eyes or mucous membranes, rinse the affected
areas with plenty of clean water and consult a doctor as soon
as possible.
