1. Introduction
The 16-Port Multi-WAN VPN Router contains two WAN ports and two configurable WAN/LAN
ports, eleven dedicated Ethernet 10/100 LAN ports and one dedicated DMZ port and mainly
supports small and medium size enterprise business network with a high security VPN. The
router brings high-speed network security to enterprise businesses, remote users, service
providers, and data centers. The router’s design combines firewall, VPN support, NAT, and
powerful traffic management with Fast Ethernet connections to provide consistent network
infrastructure security.
The unique configurable WAN/LAN ports allow users to configure as WAN port or LAN port for
providing tremendous flexibility. In addition, with multi WNA ports, the device can have backup
WAN interfaces. 16-Port Multi-WAN VPN Router can choose Intelligent Balancer (Auto Mode)
which can compute automatically the maximum Bandwidth of all WAN ports to balance the
traffic for multi WAN management, and this feature enhances the robustness. It also supports
CoS (Class of Service) which is able to automatically classify and tune the bandwidth for some
certain users. Furthermore, 16-Port VPN Router provides QoS for users to transmit packets
through WAN ports. QoS includes two types of functionality. One of functionality is Rate
Control for both guarantee/minimum bandwidth and maximum bandwidth; the other of
functionality is priority for different services.
The product’s built-in advanced firewall features can resist various kinds of malicious attacks
and curious intruders. The product uses Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI) to examine all data

packets based on the established security policies. It also provides automatic protection from
Denial of service (DoS) attacks such as SYN flooding, IP Spoofing, LAND, ping of death and all
reassembly attacks. The NAT functionality with firewall conceals network address to avoid its
disclosure as public information and also provides a solution for IP address depletion problem.
The product also has the reverse NAT capabilities that enable users to host various internet
services in the private IP address space, such as web servers, e-mail servers…, etc.
The VPN in this product provides the security for transferring important data. It supports up to
200 VPN tunnels and 2 Group VPNs. Group VPN feature facilitates the setup and it’s not
necessary for network administrators to individually configure remote VPN clients. The product
implements the Authentication Header (AH) and Encapsulating Security Payload (ESP)
protocols that provides anti-replay service for automatic key management and confidentiality,
authentication and integrity for data stream.
The 16-Port Multi-WAN VPN Router provides network users with a web-based user interface,
which is flexible, effective, and easy to use. Furthermore, network administrators can easily
control, manage and monitor the network’s conditions through this web-based interface.
