HOW THE SYSTEM WORKS
The VELO-FLO Automatic Water Bottle Pump was designed to pump puried
water from a 5-gallon puried water bottle. The system will deliver water under
pressure to an individual drinking water faucet, the water inlet of a refrigerator for
the icemaker and chilled drinking water tap, and to most residential and commercial
coee and tea brewing systems.
When the suction wand is inserted into the 5-gallon bottle, it will activate the oat
switch on the end of the wand and turn the pump on. This same oat switch shuts
the system o when the bottle is empty. The wand has a built in check valve that
prevents water in the system from owing back into the bottle, or spilling while
changing bottles.
The pump module automatically adjusts the ow and pressure to ll an appliance
or faucet, and stops automatically.
The system is equipped with an automatic thermal cut-o device for additional
protection. BOX CONTENTS
A. Pump Module with On/O rocker switch, 3.5 ft. (1m) cord.
B. Suction wand and hose assembly.
C. 1/4 in. (6.35mm) discharge tube (20 ft - 6.1m).
D. Kit Fitting: Hose port/connector, compression nut and sleeve.
E. Wall power transformer.
TOOLS REQUIRED FOR INSTALLATION
1. Medium size wrench.
2. Drill with 7/16 in. (11.12mm) or 1/2 in. (12.7mm) drill bit.
3. Sharp knife or box knife.

INSTALLATION
Select a cabinet large enough to accommodate the 5-gallon (19L) bottle and
suction wand assembly. Place the pump module on the oor of the cabinet with on/
o switch and suction tube facing out toward the cabinet doors. Position as close
as possible to a grounded electrical outlet and place the 5-gallon bottle close to the
pump module, ensuring that the suction hose is free of kinks.
VELO-FLO may also be placed in a pantry, closet, cellar or other location where a
grounded electrical outlet is available.

20 ft. (6.1 m) of 1/4 in. (6.35 mm) O.D. polyethylene tubing is supplied with the
VELO-FLO. Carefully measure the distance between the pump module outlet and
the appliance water inlet or faucet, and cut the tubing clean and square to prevent
tting leaks. If a refrigerator and faucet are being connected, use 1/4 in. (6.35 mm)
tube “T” tting and place it in an accessible location. Push the cut end of the tubing
into the outlet port of the pump module, past the o-ring to tube stop. Route tubing
to the refrigerator water valve and connect it to the water inlet valve in the back of
the refrigerator by using the tube connector tting. First slip nut over the tube, then
place the ferrule over the tube, then install onto the refrigerator water valve tting
and tighten.
CAUTION: DO NOT USE COPPER TUBING WITH VELO-FLO
For installation and use with commercial coee and tea brewing equipment:
Many commercial coee and tea brewing machines can be connected to a water
supply line. Ensure that you have a 1/4 in. (6.35 mm) I.D. connection tting at
the water inlet that can accept the supplied 1/4 in. (6.35 mm) O.D. tubing. Most
brewing machines have a factory installed device that restricts incoming water to
a safe pressure that won’t damage the brewing machine. This device is usually
referred to as an inlet pressure regulator or ow restrictor, and limits incoming
water pressure to approx. 90-100 psi. If you intend to use the VELO-FLO pump
system with one of these brewing machines, you should remove the brewing
machine’s inlet restrictor device. Consult the brewing machine manufacturer for
details. Failure to remove the brewing machine’s restrictor may cause VELO-FLO
pump to cycle itself o and on repeatedly, leading to premature motor failure. This
type of failure is not covered under warranty.
For installation on refrigerators with ice making and/or water dispensing
functions:
Do not use any external ltration devices. These will cause the pump to over-
cycle, possibly causing premature pump failure, not covered under warranty. If
your refrigerator has factory installed internal ltration that must remain in place
as part of the water line, this too may cause over-cycling resulting in pump failure.
Contact the refrigerator manufacturer and inquire about obtaining an empty or
dummy lter housing for use instead of the standard lter model.
ELECTRICAL
WARNING! RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK!
Plug the power cord into a grounded outlet after moving pump system’s rocker
switch to OFF position.

SUCTION WAND INSTALLATION
1. Place bottle close to system and remove bottle cap.
2. Install suction wand into bottle. (Note: If bottle is over lled, dispose of enough
water to allow the suction wand to be installed to the bottom of the bottle).
3. Push suction wand bottle cap over bottle neck and push wand to bottom center
of bottle.
SUCTION WAND REMOVAL AND BOTTLE CHANGING
PROCEDURE
1. Move bottle to an open area outside of cabinet.
2. Put new (uncapped) bottle next to empty bottle, clean neck and cap area with
detergent and remove cap.
3. Remove suction wand from empty bottle by lifting wand cap with a rocking
motion.
4. Pull cap o bottle, sliding suction wand out of the bottle and place into new
bottle while sliding cap over new bottle neck.
• Do not attempt to remove suction wand by pulling on the soft plastic
tube, this can result in permanent breakage of suction wand.
• Do not place suction wand on oor, counter, or sink as this could
contaminate the suction wand assembly.

SANITIZING YOUR SYSTEM
Equipment required:
Two (2) household pails
Paper towels
BIOMAX EXTRA cleaner (available through our Customer service)
Cleaning procedure:
1. Turn the pump o by pressing the switch to the OFF position.
2. Fill a clean pail (A) with two gallons (7.5 L) of hot tap water (135°F/57.2°C).
3. Add 6.5 oz (200 ml) of BIOMAX EXTRA cleaner.
4. Remove the suction wand from the water
bottle and submerge the bottle cap end
into pail (A), taking care that the metal
hose clamp connecting the hose to the
suction wand is totally immersed in the
cleaning solution for ten minutes; wash
underside of cap and suction tube exterior
as well.
5. Place suction wand into clean empty pail (B)
and dispose of cleaning solution from pail (A).
6. Rell pail (A) with two (2) gallons of hot tap water (135°F/57.2°C) adding
6.5 oz (200 ml) of BIOMAX EXTRA cleaner and place suction wand into pail
with bottle cap up.
7. Disconnect the discharge tube from the faucet or the refrigerator and place
into pail (B).
8. Turn pump on, by pressing the switch to the ON position and dispense all of
the cleaning solution into the empty pail (B).
9. Place discharge tube into pail (A).
10. Dispose of cleaning solution from pail (B).
11. Place discharge tube into pail (B).
12. Rell pail (A) with two (2) gallons of hot tap water (135°F/ 57.2°C), adding
6.5 oz (200 ml) of BIOMAX EXTRA cleaner and repeat step 9.
13. Dispose of cleaning solution.
14. Rinse all parts with clean water.
15. Re-install suction wand into new water bottle and reconnect discharge tube
into refrigerator or faucet and dispense 12 to 18 ounces (355 ml to 532 ml)
of water.
16. Cleaning should be performed at least six (6) times per year. System should
be cleaned and ushed with fresh water if unused for more than 48 hours.
CAUTION
Do not place VELO-FLO into a dishwasher as it will cause electrical failure
of pump and controls.

TEMPERATURE WARNING
For additional protection, thermal cut-o device which is activated at 158°F / 70°C.
Under normal operation, it will take 45-50 minutes for the motor to reach 158°F /
70°C at open ow condition. Once the power is cut o to the unit, it takes 15-20
mintues to reset. Power is restored after motor temperature has dropped to 131°F
/ 55°C.
Before the VELO-FLO is put into service, the system should be sanitized by
following the maintenance and sanitation clean in-place procedure on page 6.
After the VELO-FLO has been installed in a suitable location with the suction wand
installed into the bottle and the discharge tube routed to the appliance water inlet,
it must be plugged into a grounded outlet. Turn the VELO-FLO on by pressing
the switch to the ON position and starting the appliance dispensing valve or the
drinking water faucet in order to bleed all the air out of the VELO-FLO. After air
has been bled out of the system, close the appliance dispensing valve or the water
faucet and the pump will stop automatically until you open the water dispenser
valve or water faucet. Follow manufacturer’s plumbing and operating instructions
with commercial coee and tea brewers.
For refrigerators with icemaker only, the seal at the icemaker connection should be
loosened or disconnected to bleed the trapped air out of the system. When water
is present at the connection, reconnect, tighten and check for leaks.
Once the system is pressurized, it will not require bleeding again, even after bottle
changes.

Waterite, Inc. warrants this product to be free of defects in material and/or
workmanship for a period of one (1) year after purchase by the customer. During
this one (1) year warranty period, Waterite will, at its option and at no charge
to the customer, repair or replace this product if found defective in material or
workmanship, with a new or reconditioned product. Removal, installation and
shipping costs are note covered.

ATTENTION
Ne lavez jamais le VELO-FLO au lave-vaisselle, cela causera des
problèmes électriques à la pompe et aux contrôles.
AVERTISSEMENT DE TEMPÉRATURE
Pour plus de sécurité, un dispositif de coupure thermique est activé à 158°F /
70°C. Dans des conditions normales de fonctionnement, le moteur prendra 45-

Une fois l’air évacué du système, fermez la valve d’alimentation de l’appareil ou le
robinet et la pompe arrêtera automatiquement jusqu’à ce que vous ouvriez la valve
d’alimentation de l’appareil ou le robinet. Respectez les directives de plomberie et
de fonctionnement du fabricant pour les machines à café ou thé.
Pour les réfrigérateurs ne comportant qu’une machine à glaçons, le joint
d’étanchéité à la connexion de la machine devrait être desserré ou déconnecté
an d’évacuer l’air enfermé dans le système. Lorsque l’eau se présente à la
connexion, reconnectez, serrez et vériez qu’il n’y ait pas de fuite.
Une fois le système pressurisé, l’air n’aura pas besoin d’être évacué de nouveau,
même après les changements de bouteille.
