Thanks for purchasing our Vlectro VL-AT professional alcohol tester, please study this
manual carefully before using.
The VL-AT personal breathalyzer, is a hand held professional personal use
semiconductor type alcohol analyzer with LCD digital display.
◼Humanized safe high-tech design
◆Key parameters such as sampling analysis, test accuracy and display range designed
according to the EN 16280 standard, which drafted and officially adopted by the
European Union in the field of breath alcohol testing devices used by the general public
in the year of 2012.

◼Operation Instruction
Read the instructions carefully before use.
1. How to use
Rinse your mouth with water before using.
Avoid smoking or drinking alcohol for at least 20 minutes before using.
2. Insert the batteries

⚫Insert 2 x 1.5V alkaline batteries (AAA) into the battery compartment.
3. Power ON/OFF
3.1 Power ON
After insert batteries, keep press key for 2,5s until device with “di-di” voice warning,
then device enter into the warm-up mode, interface show as following picture

3.2 Power OFF
Under warm-up and Heating state, keep press for 2,5s, the device will power off;
When the result is displayed, without any key operation within 60s, device will power off
automatically.

4. Formal Test
4.1 Intelligent self-checking
Turn on the device, will enter into the warm-up state automatically, to reset the sensor
into a better working state, interface as following picture

4.2 Wait for preheating
After warm-up, will enter into heating mode to active the warming of sensor, countdown
19s (19-00), to make sensor work better and more sensitive.

➢Tips: Alarm level setting
Under self-checking and preheating state, double press button to enter alarm level
setting mode. Short press the button again to select alarm level as b2,b3,b5,b8, after
setted, waiting for 2 seconds, device will enter into test mode automatically.
b2: Means alarm level as 0.20‰BAC(=0.020%BAC or 0.100mg/L)
b3: Means alarm level as 0.30‰BAC(=0.030%BAC or 0.150mg/L)
b5: Means alarm level as 0.50‰BAC(=0.050%BAC or 0.250mg/L)
b8: Means alarm level as 0.80‰BAC(=0.080%BAC or 0.400mg/L)
4.3 Blow test
After 19s of heating, when the “blow” flashes, the instrument can be breath tested by the
mouthpiece. Press the ON/OFF button one time when starting the breath test, the
instrument is officially sampled. “bLo” flashes for about 25 seconds ,Please carry out the
measurement within this period.

Blow continuously through the mouthpiece for about 5 seconds, a long beep tone sounds
continuously while blowing. Only stop blowing until the beep tone stops together with
dynamic progress bar full displayed. Two short “di-di”sounds will be heard when the
sample is being taken successfully, test result will be displayed accordingly.

Device will power off automatically, when user fails to start the blowing test within 25s.

◆Under test reading interface, can press key to re-test, or device will power off
automatically if there’s no any operation within 60 seconds.
◆Under test reading interface, keep press key to switch units between mg/L,‰,%,
next test reading will show with this re-setted unit
4.4 Test result show
If the test result exceeds the alert level, the alarm indicator light turns on red and flashes
10 times together with “di-di” sound prompt.
While test result lower than alarm level, the alert indicator light turns on green.
The reading range is 0.00‰BAC -2.00‰BAC.
“2.00‰BAC”will be shown if the reading is higher than 2.00‰BAC.

“0.00‰BAC” will be shown if the reading is lower than 0.05‰BAC.
◼Low battery detection
This device using 2 * 1.5V AAA alkaline batteries, if the batteries are low, “Lob”and the
battery symbol in the upper right corner flashes 10 times together with “di-di”sound
prompt to remind that need to replace new batteries, then device power off automatically.
Please replace new batteries for normal use.

Warning
While low battery, device cannot work normally, need to replace new
batteries, or it won’t power on.

◼Common faults and solutions

Cannot power
on
Low battery.
Replace new batteries.

blocked during one test.
Don’t block the vent outlet while
doing breath test.
After drinking alcohol, the

please abstain from smoking and

or non-alcoholic beverages

residues of alcohol in mouth will
affect the measured values.
◼Maintenance
◆Keep the device (especially the blow hole of the device) away from organic solvents
(such as alcohol, etc.) while cleaning the surface of instrument.
◆Don’t let alcohol or any other liquid enter into the device, or it will cause permanent
damage to the sensor.

◆Store the device in right packing box, avoid exposure to sunlight and humidity.
◼Precautions
◆During the breath sampling, do NOT block the outlet to avoid a inaccurate test result.
◆Many factors (e.g. environment gas residue, smoke & various smell in human mouth,
etc…) may affect the Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) level, so the Readings are For
Reference Only.
◆Tolerance to alcohol varies from one person to another, and can be affected by such
factors as genetics, constitution, gender, percentage of body fat, adaptation to chronic
alcohol use, and synergistic effects of drugs. same amount of alcohol, different person
the Blood Alcohol Content maybe different, so the test result may be different. As there’s
a absorption and digestion progress of human’s blood alcohol content after drinking,
your blood alcohol content (BAC) may change within minutes.
◼Important notes
◆The frequency of use and test concentration of device, will affect the sensitivity and life
of the sensor. The more frequently used and higher alcohol concentration tested, sensor
sensitivity will be reduced and service life will be shortened.
◆Test results for reference only, do not use this device to determine if you can drive or not.
◆The test results may be inadmissible in court.
◆Please bear in mind that this device is designed to measure your blood alcohol
concentration/content(BAC),not to estimate how much alcohol you have drunk.
◆For the health and safety of you and others, please don’t drive after drink.
