- V-DA-8-16 Video distributor in table desk housing with 2 video inputs and to 8
video outputs, 4 video inputs to each 4 video outputs or 8 video inputs
to each 2 video outputs, incl. power adapter.
The unit can also be integrated into a standard 19" rack (1HU).
General product information
The video distributor guarantees stable transmission quality of branched (distributed)
video signals. The V-DA-8-16 can be used for either 2 sets of video input to 8 video
outputs (jumper setting), or 2 sets of 2 video inputs to 4 video outputs or 4 video input
to 2 video outputs. The frequency response or 20 MHz / -3dB guarantees an optimum
output signal for all options mentioned hereinafter.
Tips for mounting
- Install the video distribution amplifier indoors only.
- To avoid overheating:
- do not expose the unit to direct sunlight
- keep sufficient distance from direct heat sources
- Do not install the unit at damp, oily or dusty locations.
- Do not expose the unit to strong vibrations.

Internal adjustments
Factory setting: The V-DA-8-16 is set to 2 video inputs to each 8 video outputs.
To make the adjustments mentioned below, open the housing. To change to mode 4 (8)
video inputs = 8 x 2 video outputs, please proceed as follows:
1. Disconnect the unit from power supply
2. Loosen the screws at the housing of the unit
3. Remove cover
4. Change the jumper setting
Note: At the V-DA-8-16, the jumper settings have to be changed on both circuit boards
(twin unit).

Troubleshooting
Error Cause
Video outputs are not all
available
(e.g. 1 video input
6 video outputs)
The jumper on the circuit board is set
to duplicated number of video in-
puts/outputs
One or several monitors
have stripes in the picture
These distortions are caused by hum
in the picture which is a result of
connecting several monitors to dif-
ferent potentials.
1. Connect all devices to the same
phase
2. Use galvanic transformers be-
tween monitor and mains phase
3. Use an additional optocoupler for
each transmission line
The monitors have no
picture
1. Video signal lines interrupted or
defective; check all coaxial ca-
bles and BNC plugs
2. Power supply to camera
interrupted; check operating
voltage at camera
3. The video distributor is off:
a. Check and/or replace
mains fuse
Should none of the above remedies be successful, please contact your authorized
dealer with a detailed failure description.
Maintenance and care
Before starting to clean the device, disconnect the unit from power supply. Never use
any water or fluid to clean the device for reasons of electronic safety. Never put the unit
under water. To clean use a soft dry cloth. Never open the unit to clean inside. This
may only be done by authorized personnel according to the local safety regulations. If
the device will be handed over to third parties, make sure to include these operating
instructions.
