The minimum clearances from any

combustible constructions at the front of

the appliance are shown in fig.

These

front clearances apply for all installations

whether in solid fuel fireplace, new zero

clearance construction or free standing.

If, it is intended to fit the appliance in a

combustible recess, the Zero Clearance

Kit #700ZCK (available from your dealer)

must be usedas shown infig.3.

FLOOR

The floor in the fireplace recess must be

sufficiently flat and level to support the

appliance satisfactorily. Some fireplace

constructions have

well in the floor at

the back which may need to be filled in.

Do not place the appliance on carpeting,

vinyl or other soft-surfaced floor coverings.

Install only on hard surfaced materials.

We recommen'd that a hard surfaced

hearth area be maintained at least

INSTALLING IN EXISTING FlREPLACE

2.1

PRE-INSTALLATION PREPARATION

2.1.1. Closing Large Fireplace Openings

4.1. Openings for the gas supply line are

provided at the back and right side (see

figure 4). The appliance is supplied with a

platecoveringthebackopening.Theopening

at the rightside is uncoveredas supplied. If

the supply line isto enterthrough the back,

removetheplateandrefittothesideopening.

Notethattheopeningsattherightandleft

sides which are supplied covered with

metalplatesare notforsupplypipeentry.

Theseopeningsshouldonlybeuncovered

when the #7OOZCK zero clearance kit is

used.

4.2. To allow clear access for connecting the

4.2.2. Slidethe collar up the shaft to free it

from the thermostat spindle (Figure

13b). Holdontothe collar. Don't let

the collar safe.

4.2.4. Swingthe lowershaftbackandpark it

4.3.

The gas supply line must be sized and

installed to provide a supply of gas

sufficient to meet the maximum demand of

the appliance without undue loss of

pressure. Sealants used must be resistant

to the action of all gas constituents

includingL.P. gas.

Sealants should be applied lightly to male

threads to ensure excess sealant does not

enter gas lines.

The supply line should include a manual

shut-off valve and union inthe lineto allow

the appliance to be disconnected for

servicing.
