1. Remove the parts from the packaging.
2. Prior to initial use, fill the coffee maker with water to the maximum mark, then
run it once without using any coffee.
3. Your appliance is now ready for normal use.
4. Dispose of the packaging in a responsible manner.
Brewing Your Coffee:
1. Open the top lid and fill the water tank with drinking water.
Note: Do not exceed the MAX LEVEL as indicated on the water tank.
2. Place the brewing basket into the filter cavity and make sure it is correctly
fitted into place. If necessary, place a coffee filter into the brewing basket.
3. Add coffee powder to the brewing basket or coffee filter. Usually a cup, or two
cups of coffee, uses three spoons of powder, three cups needs five spoons, and
four cups needs six spoons of coffee powder, but you may adjust according to
personal taste.
4. Replace the top lid.
Note: The appliance will not work unless the top lid is closed and in its correct
position.
5. Insert the glass carafe onto the warming plate horizontally, ensuring the centre
line of the carafe aligns with the anti-drip valve.
6. Plug the coffee machine into the mains and push the ‘On’ button to start
the brewing process. The button will illuminate to indicate the unit has been
powered on.
Note: During the brewing process, you can press the “Start” button again if you
want to make the appliance stop working. However, it is better to avoid stopping
the unit during brewing process.
To continue brewing after pausing the cycle, you must first open the top lid and
then close it again to make the appliance continue operating.
WARNING! Do not open the top lid during the brewing process to avoid scalding.
The Keep-Warm Function:
During the brewing cycle, coffee will flow into the glass carafe from the coffee
outlet. The appliance will automatically stop operating and switch to ‘keep-warm’
mode after it has finished brewing.
Note: The keep-warm function is applicable for a maximum of 40 minutes. After
this time, the appliance will cut off automatically. The indicator light on the
“Start” button will go out to indicate the unit has stopped working.

The Pause-And-Pour Function:
The appliance is designed with a pause-and-pour feature letting you temporarily
remove the glass carafe at any time during the brewing cycle without interrupting
it or causing coffee to drip from the appliance. To restart the brewing cycle after
making use of this feature, simply replace the glass carafe onto the warming plate.
Note: The pause-and-pour feature is applicable for a maximum of 30 seconds.
Removing the carafe for longer than 30 seconds will cause the coffee to overflow
the filter, leading to spillages.
CAUTION! Never return the empty glass carafe onto the warming plate when it is
still warm.
Serving Your Coffee:
When the unit has finished brewing, remove the glass carafe to serve. For great-
tasting coffee, pour directly after brewing.
Note: The volume of coffee brewed will be less than the amount of water first
added as some water will be absorbed during the brewing process.
CAUTION! When pouring, do not angle the carafe beyond a safe angle. We
recommend no more than 45 degrees from the vertical position. Pour the coffee
slowly until the glass carafe is empty, to prevent the coffee from rushing into the
lid and flowing out from both edges of the lid. This will help avoid spillages and
minimise the risk of scalding.
Always turn the coffee maker off and unplug it from the mains when not in use.
Hints For Great Tasting Coffee:
1. A clean coffee maker is essential for making great-tasting coffee. Regularly
clean the coffee maker as specified in the “CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE”
section. Always use fresh, cold water in the coffee maker.
2. Store unused coffee powder in a cool, dry place. After opening a packet of
coffee powder reseal it tightly and store it in a refrigerator to maintain its
freshness.
3. For an optimum coffee taste, buy whole coffee beans and finely grind them
just before brewing.
4. Do not reuse coffee powder since this will greatly reduce the coffee flavour.
5. Reheating coffee is not recommended as coffee is at its peak flavour
immediately after brewing.
6. Over-extraction will eventually cause your coffee maker to become oily, and
small oil droplets to appear on the surface of brewed, black coffee as a result.
When this occurs, clean your coffee maker as detailed in the ‘Cleaning and
Care’ section below.
7. The use of heavily roasted coffees increases the likelihood of the coffee maker
becoming oily.

Questions Answers
What kind of coffee
shall I use?
Any ground coffee! You can buy pre-ground coffee for filter
machines from supermarkets in a variety of different flavours and
blends, grind your own coffee beans, or buy beans from your
favourite coffee shop and ask for them to be ground to filter
consistency.
How do I clean the
filter?
The filter can be washed in warm water. Ensure the filter is fully dry
before placing it back into the coffee maker.
Can I put the carafe
in the microwave?
No. NEVER put the carafe in the microwave, dishwasher or on a
hotplate.
The unit does not
work.
Ensure the unit is plugged into the mains and that the ‘On’ button
is illuminated.
My coffee has an odd
taste.
This may result from oil residue in your coffee maker. Clean your
coffee maker to dispose of any residue, then try brewing a fresh
batch of coffee.
