straightdowntheslope.
•Donottakeaninjuryrisk!Whenapersonor
petappearsunexpectedlyinorneartheoperating
area,stopoperation.Carelessoperation,
combinedwithterrainangles,ricochets,or
improperlypositionedguardscanleadtothrown
objectinjuries.Donotresumeoperationuntilthe
areaiscleared.
•Lightningcancausesevereinjuryordeath.If
lightningisseenorthunderisheardinthearea,do
notoperatethemachine;seekshelter.
•Donottouchtheengineormuferwhiletheengine
isrunningorsoonafteritisstopped.Theseareas
couldbehotenoughtocauseaburn.
Maintenance
•Removethekeyfromtheignitionswitchtoprevent
accidentalstartingoftheenginewhenservicing,
adjusting,orstoringthemachine.

•Besurethatthemachineisinsafeoperating
conditionbykeepingnuts,bolts,andscrewstight.
•Makesurethatallhydrauliclineconnectorsare
tightandallhydraulichosesandlinesareingood
conditionbeforeapplyingpressuretothesystem.
•Keepyourbodyandhandsawayfrompinhole
leaksinhydrauliclinesthatejecthighpressure
hydraulicuid.Usecardboardorpapertond
hydraulicleaks.Hydraulicuidescapingunder
pressurecanpenetrateskinandcauseinjury.
Fluidaccidentallyinjectedintotheskinmustbe
surgicallyremovedwithinafewhoursbyadoctor
familiarwiththisformofinjuryorgangrenemay
result.
•Beforedisconnectingorperforminganyworkon
thehydraulicsystem,allpressureinthesystem
mustberelievedbystoppingtheengineand
loweringthepumptotheground.
•Iftheenginemustberunningtoperforma
maintenanceadjustment,keephands,feet,
clothing,andotherpartsofthebodyawayfrom
thefanandothermovingparts.
•Donotoverspeedtheenginebychangingthe
governorsettings.Tobesureofsafetyand

checkthemaximumenginespeedwitha
tachometer.
•Theenginemustbeshutoffbeforecheckingthe
oiloraddingoiltothecrankcase.
•Toensureoptimumperformanceandsafety,
