WARRANTY
All equipment and accessories are warranted by Thermaltronics to be free from
defects in materials and workmanship as follows:

This warranty does not apply to equipment or goods which have been tampered
with, misused, damaged through improper installation or used in a manner
contrary to supplier instructions. Normal “wear and tear” of equipment or goods
is not covered by this warranty. If the product should become defective within the
warranty period, Thermaltronics will repair or replace it free of charge at its sole
option. Warranty period is from the date of purchase by the original owner. If the
date of purchase cannot be substantiated the date of manufacture will be used as
the start of the warranty period.

INTRODUCTION
Congratulations on your purchase of the Thermaltronics desoldering kit. The
desolder gun uses shop air to create a powerful air vacuum to clean through-
holes quickly and efficiently. Cleaning and maintenance is quick and easy
with the use of replaceable lter wools and chamber liner.

60 = Temperature Sensitive

Choosing the Correct Tip Geometry:
Select a tip with an inner diameter larger than the lead diameter.
Choosing the Correct Temperature Series:
For temperature sensitive applications please choose the 60 Series tips.
For standard applications the 75 series tips is sufcent.
For heavy loads or very thick multi-layer boards use the 80 series high
performance tips.

UNPACKING/ASSEMBLY/OPERATION
Please read this manual and follow the directions before using the equipment.
The carton contains:
1. Instruction manual
2. Desolder Gun
3. Desolder Gun handpiece holder, including Brass curls and sponge
4. Tip removal pad
Important: Keep all shipping materials until satisfactory operation has been veried.
Assembly and Operation
1. Remove Desolder Gun from its packaging and place on a suitable work bench.
2. Attach the Desolder Gun handpiece cord onto the desolder gun.
3. Plug the other end of the handpiece cord into the System front connector.
4. Attach the airhose onto the desolder gun.
5. Attach the other end of the airhose to your air supply.
Note: For optimal performance set the air supply to 80 psi. Operating the desolder
tool at over 100 psi can cause the airhose to rupture.
6. Plug desolder tip into handpiece. Notice the tailpipe must be oriented down.
7. Turn the system on, the desolder tip should reach curie point temperature quickly.
8. When not in use place the desolder gun into the workstand.
Temperature Calibration
Thermaltronics “Curie Heat Technology” systems do not require temperature
calibration. The technology is very precise and is self regulating. The alloy used in the
construction of the tip cartridge will maintain the set temperature for its entire life.

MAINTENANCE
Note: For safety purposes maintenance must be done with the system
powered off.
Cleaning Gun Chamber:
1. Open the gun chamber.
2. Replace the chamber liner.
3. Replace the lter wool.
Replacing the Venturi:
1. Open the gun chamber.
2. Remove the venturi
(Use a slot type screwdriver.)
3. Replace with a new venturi.
Replacing the Cartridge Seal:
1. Remove the desolder tip.
2. Pry out the cartridge seal gently.
3. Install a new cartridge seal.

2. Replace the chamber liner.
3. Replace the lter wool.
1. Slide Open
