17. IMPORTANT: If the bread carriage hand e gets b ocked during use
(e.g. because the bread s ices are too thick) and the bread starts
burning, unp ug the app iance immediate y and et it coo down
before emptying and c eaning it. Shou d the prob em persist,
contact a competent qua ified e ectrician.
18. Do not use the app iance for defrosting food other than bread
and on y insert unbuttered s ices of bread of which the thickness
does not risk to prevent the bread from coming up. Be extreme y
strict about this as toasters are the cause of many fires when
these e ementary safety precautions are not observed.

POL RIZED PLUG INSTRUCTIONS
This app iance has a po arized p ug (one b ade is wider than the
other). To reduce the risk of e ectric shock, this p ug wi fit into the
po arized out et on y one way. If the p ug does not proper y fit into
the out et at first, reverse it. If it sti does not fit, contact a competent
qua ified e ectrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.
SHORT CORD INSTRUCTIONS
A short power supp y cord is provided to reduce the hazards resu ting
from becoming entang ed in, or tripping over a onger cord.
Extension cords may be used if care is exercised in their use.
• The e ectrica rating of the extension cord shou d be at east
that of the app iance. If the e ectrica rating of the extension
cord is too ow, it cou d overheat and burn.
• The resu ting extended cord shou d be arranged so that it wi
not drape over the counter top or tab etop where it can be
pu ed on by chi dren or tripped over.

BEFORE USING THE TO STER FOR THE FIRST TIME
C UTION: the bread carriage handle will not stay down if the
appliance is not plugged in!
In order to e iminate any manufacturing residues, operate the toaster
a coup e of times without bread with the browning contro se ector
on a medium power eve . Some smoke might escape.

OPER TION
• Before using your app iance for the first time, check if it is c ean
(see “Maintenance and c eaning”) as it comes into direct
contact with bread. Check if any object has fa en into the s ot.
• For safety reasons, connect the app iance on y to a mains
earthed wa socket.
• P ace the bread s ices in the s ot (for the French bread, cut a oaf
shorter than the s ot, then cut it in two pieces a ong its ength.).
Your app iance is provided to receive French bread, but a so
pieces of toast or other bread s ices if their thickness and their
ength are shorter than the one of the s ot.
• Press down the bread carriage hand e unti it stops (in the same
time, the grid inside the s ot wi tighten around the bread in order
to keep it away from the heating wires). Then re ease the pressure
and the hand e wi stay in the ower position, which means that
the heating process has begun. If the hand e comes up
immediate y, check if the app iance is p ugged in as it b ocks
when the unit is p ugged in.
• You can adjust the browning intensity to obtain a more or ess
toasted bread by positioning the browning contro se ector to
one of the degrees marked from 1 to 5. Therefore you on y have
to turn c ockwise to increase the intensity, and antic ockwise to
decrease it. The higher the number is, the more toasted the
bread wi be.
• During operation, if you think that the bread is toasted enough or
for another reason, you can break the heating process, simp y by
pressing the cance button.
• The reheat button a ows you to reheat a ready toasted bread or
to toast bread which is not toasted enough during a short time
without modifying the browning degree.
• The defrost button a ows you to toast the bread that has been
frozen beforehand.
• If you want to reheat bage s, push the "BAGEL" button.
• A ways unp ug the app iance after use and et it coo down
before hand ing or storing it.
• A cord winder consisting of 4 hooks is foreseen on the bottom of
the app iance. When you store your app iance, wind the cord
around the hooks.

M INTEN NCE ND CLE NING
• Before attempting any c eaning operation, make sure the toaster
is unp ugged from the supp y socket and fu y coo ed down.
• To remove bread crumbs s ide, the crumb tray situated on the
side of the app iance.
• Caution! It is very important to empty the crumb tray regularly.
Crumbs that have accumulated in the toaster might burn and the
appliance might catch fire.
• To c ean the exterior surfaces, simp y wipe over with a soft damp
c oth.
• ON NO ACCOUNT MUST THE TOASTER BE IMMERSED IN WATER.
• A other maintenance and repair shou d be performed by a
qua ified technician.

Para reducir e riesgo de choque e éctrico, este aparato tiene un
enchufe po arizado (una pata es más ancha que a otra).
Como medida de seguridad, este enchufe ca za en e
tomacorriente po arizado de una so a manera. Si e enchufe no
cabe tota mente en e tomacorriente, gire e enchufe. Si aún así no
ca za, consu te a un servicio técnico cua ificado. No intente anular

NTES DE SU PRIMER UTILIZ CION
TENCIÓN: la palanca de sujeción no quedará abajo sí el aparato
no está enchufado!
Para e iminar todo residuo procedente de a producción, antes de
uti izar por primera vez su tostador, hága o funcionar por o menos
dos veces a vacío (sin pan), co ocando su termostato a un nive de
potencia media. Puede producirse un igero humo.
UTILIZ CION
• Antes de usar e aparato por primera vez, asegúrese que este
impio (vea “ impieza”) porque tiene contacto directo con e
pan. Compruebe que ningún objeto este dentro de a ranura de
tostador.
• Antes que nada, conecte e aparato a a corriente e éctrica.
• Co oque e pan en a ranura. E aparato esta provisto para recibir
pan francés, pero también tostadas u otros panes si su grosor y
ongitud es mas corto que a de a ranura de pan.
• Presione a maneci a hacia abajo, hasta a posición de cierre. Si
e asa sube inmediatamente compruebe si e aparato esta
enchufado y que no haya nada que o b oquee.
• Usted puede ajustar a intensidad de a regu ación para que sus
tostadas sa gan como usted desee. Los nive es de a regu ación
e ectrónica van de 1 a 5. Gire e regu ador e ectrónico de a
potencia para incrementar a intensidad.
• Si desea interrumpir e proceso, presione e botón de parada.
• Si desea reca entar pan, presione e botón de reca entamiento.
• Si desea desconge ar pan, presione e botón desconge ación.
• Si desea reca entar "bage s" (du ce americano), presione sobre e
botón "BAGEL".
• Desenchufe siempre e aparato después de usar o y déje o
enfriar antes de tocar o o guardar o.
• En a base de tostador hay 4 pestañas que sirven para recoger
e cab e. Cuando usted guarde su tostador enro e e cab e
a rededor de aparato.
