CONNECTING YOUR CODEC TO A BROWSER
The C600ip-s is designed to be configured by web browser only. To do this you will need to plug the LAN
Ethernet socket into your local network using a standard Ethernet cable. The C600ip-s is defaulted to obtain
an P address using DHCP, so it is essential that your local network has a DHCP server running.
When power is applied to your codec the front panel system status led will flash until the LAN is connected to
a network and a DHCP P address is obtained successfully. On success the system status LED will remain
light constantly.
To find the P address of the codec you can use one of the following freeware tools. These can be
downloaded from the internet here.

nstall and RUN the chosen P scanner on your computer and you will find the P address of your C600ip-s
audio codec displayed like this:-
You can now clearly identify your C600ip audio codec by the model number and the serial number of the
unit. n this case it has been allocated the P address 192.168.1.253.

Now you have the codec P address you can use your WEB browser to connect to the management
interface. This is done by entering the P address of the codec in the browsers address bar and pressing
enter. You will prompted with a sign in screen like this
Now enter the default user name “admin” and the default password “admin” and click Sign n.

CONFIGURE THE AOIP CODEC
Firstly you will need to connect the Ao P Ethernet connector to you local network. Once connected
successfully the front panel LED will stop flashing and turn off.
Next you will need to configure the Ao P codec to make a call. This is done by proceeding to the P Config
tab on the browser.
Now you can enable the DHCP setting in the local settings menu to allocate a P address to the Ao P codec.
You can see that the unit has now been allocated the P address of 192.168.1.9.

MAKE A CALL
Now that the Ao P codec has an P address we can proceed to make a call. This is done from the P audio
control tab. Simply enter the P address of the far end codec into the remote address field and specify the
audio mode that you require. n this case the far end P address is 192.168.1.11 and the chosen audio mode
is APTX, Stereo, 48KHz, Duplex with 1:4 FEC error correction. This is perfect for a FM radio transmitter link.
Note that the Link state has become active with a reported round trip delay of 0ms. Now you can make a call
by pressing the green Manual button.

The call is now established with a entry in the active connection panel displaying some basic statistics. f you
wish this call to be 24/7 and remain connected following power outages and breaks in the P connection you
should use the AUTO On button rather than the MANUAL button.

AUDIO OVER IP STATS
P statistics are available and can be useful for monitoring the performance of the Ao P connection.
Please note that it is not recommended to run audio codecs on a network that is shared with many
computers as the RTP streams are very sensitive to packet jitter. t is recommended that some QOS is
implemented using the codecs DSCP settings to elevate the priority of the RTP traffic in the routers queuing
system.
