Precautions
Please read this manual before using the Freedom electric wheelchair in
order to operate and maintain it properly.
PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THE FOLLOWING
CONTENT WITH THESE WARNING SYMBOLS.
FAILURE TO TAKE PRECAUTIONS COULD
RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURIES.

1. Folding & Unfolding
1.1 Folding Process
Step 1
Open the safety hasp, check the image below to see how it should open.
Step 2
While holding the seat cushion with one hand, grab the backrest with
your other hand and push forward to fold the chair down.
1.2 Unfolding Process
Step 1
While you are holding the backrest, pull in an upwards motion to open.
Step 2
Securely lock the safety hasp.

2. Installing the Joystick Controller
Insert the controller joystick into the armrest tube and tighten the knob to fix it
into position.
Step 1
Connect the aviation plug into the battery socket. Keep in mind the orientation
of the plug and socket so they are aligned properly.

3. Adjusting the armrest
Turn the lock knob anticlockwise up to lift the armrest.

4. Manual Operation
Press down on the clutch handle to keep the electromagnetic brake in the separation
position.
This will allow the wheels to move freely allowing someone to push the chair.
If the user operates the chair without assistance, the electromagnetic brake must be
at the engaged position.
Otherwise the user will not have control over the chair.

5. Joystick Operation
Power on/0ff
Increase speed
Decrease speed
Horn
Joystick
•Joystick: Controls the chairs direction and speed.
•Power on: Press to turn on the power.
•Power off: Press again to turn off the power.
•Power display: Eight green LED lights indicates power left in the
batteries.
•Horn: Sounds when the user presses the button.
•Increase speed: Press to adjust to a higher speed.
•Decrease speed: Press to adjust to a slower speed.
•Speed display: All lights on means it is set to max speed.

6. Charging Instructions
Insert the charger into the joystick socket (as
shown) while being mindful of the plug
orientation.
Insert the charger into an electrical outlet
which will cause the charging light to turn
on.
Red indicator light means the battery is
charging.
Green indicator light means the battery is
fully charged.
•A handy USB port is located underneath
the controller. Suitable for charging
mobile phones.

7. Transport & Storage
•To pick up the chair, stand it up when it is folded.
•The folded chair can then be stored in the car boot.
•The battery should be fully charged and the chair should be stored in a
cool, dry, and ventilated place.
•The battery needs to be charged at least once every three months,
otherwise it could lead to over-discharge damage.

Safety Guide
•The user must be of sound mind and judgement.
•The user must read the instruction manual before operating the chair to
get familiar with its components and features.
•The user should practice driving with assistance in a safe environment on
open and flat land before normal use.
Moving forward and parking
•To move forward push the joystick forward gently.
•To stop (or park) release the joystick.

Moving backwards
•Please be aware of what is behind you before manoeuvring backwards to
avoid collisions.
•Gently pull the joystick backwards.
•To turn push the joystick to the desired angle, either the left or right.
Turning

•Whilst driving on bends, gently push the joystick in the direction of the
bend.
•You can practice speed control by manoeuvring around obstacles.
