Start by positioning the speakers

according to the labels on the

rear panel.

Next, connect the speakers to the

main unit.

For BDV-EF420, refer to the

supplied “Speaker Installation

Guide” for assembling the

speakers.

To enjoy high-quality video and

audio, connect via a High Speed

HDMI cable  (not supplied).

If your TV has no HDMI ARC jack,

you also need a digital optical

cord  (not supplied) to enjoy

TV sound through the system

speakers.





You can also connect your iPod or

iPhone to the system and your TV

via the supplied dock.  (BDV-

EF420 only)

For FM radio, connect the supplied

wire antenna (aerial) and extend it

for the best reception. 

To connect your set-top box, game

console, or digital satellite receiver,

make an audio connection to the

main unit with a digital optical

cord  (not supplied). Separately,

make a video connection to the

TV.







the home menu (page 12).

You can connect to the Internet

and home network via a LAN

cable (not supplied). If you use

the optional USB Wireless LAN

Adapter, Wi-Fi is available.

To a broadband router

Connect the AC power cord

(mains lead) to a wall outlet

(mains).

Once [Easy Initial Settings are

complete.] appears on the

screen, select [Finish] and the

system is ready to use.

To ready the system for use,

go through the on-screen Easy

Initial Settings using the supplied

remote. This should only take a

few minutes.

If the setup screen is not

displayed, select the correct AV

input in your TV.

Press / to turn the system on.

“SETUP” appears in the front

panel display.
