When you open the camera package for the first me check the contents to make sure you have all the
mounng hardware and accessories.
Plasc film covers the camera display and lens. There is also plasc film on the inside and outside of the
lens cover and both back cover doors of the clear housing. Remove plasc film before using the camera.
Verify the authencity of the camera by checking the security code under the scratch-off on the side of
the package. Go to the SJCam official website at hp://www.sjcamhd.com/safe/ and enter the security
code as directed to verify that you have an authenc SJCam.

The following lights indicate the operaon described and can occur in several combinaons.
Blue light on: the camera is on.
Red light on: the camera is connected to a charger.
Blue light flashing: the camera is capturing video.
Power/Mode: Press and release to turn on the camera. Press and release to change modes. Press
and hold to turn off the camera.
Shuer/Select: Press to start or stop recording videos, take pictures, select menu items, or control
video playback.
Up and Down: Press and release to navigate through menus and change leers and numbers in
Setup. Press and hold to advance through several menu items in Setup. Press and hold to zoom in or
out in Record or Camera modes. Press and release to fast forward or rewind videos du ring Playback.

Pull the baery cover latch to open the cover.
Gently remove the baery from the camera body.
Once charged, open the baery cover and insert the baery. Be careful not to touch the exposed +/-
poles, and to insert the baery properly.
Press and hold the power buon 3-5 seconds to power up or shut down the camera.
Charge the baery using only the provided baery charger, or by connecng it to a computer with a
USB cable. You can also charge the baery using a car charger. It takes about 3 to 3-1/2 hours to fully
charge a depleted baery.

Working with memory cards
When fully charged, the baery can provide you with up to 90 minutes of recording me. (If the
camera is turned on, but not used for some me, it will power down to save the baery.)
Tip: If you are not using the camera for a prolonged period, remove the baery and store it in a dry
and dark place, away from sunlight.
Aenon: Using other chargers than the one provided with the camera may damage the baery. If
the baery is not charging when connected to a computer, make sure that the computer is powered
on and try a different USB port, or cable. If the baery sll has charging issues, please contact our
technical support. Do not crush, pierce, drop, disassemble, or set fire to the baery, serious injuries
may occur. Please dispose of the used baery, according to your local environmental regulaons.
To insert the microSD card, gently slide it into the slot unl it clicks into place. The microSD card can
be inserted in one way only. If you have difficules inserng the memory card, do not try to force it in,
because it can be permanently damaged. Flip it over or face it the other way round and try again.
To remove the microSD card, use your fingernail or some object with a thin p and gently press the
microSD card further into the camera body. You will hear a click, and the memory card will pop out of
the camera body..
The SJCAM M10 is compable with microSD and microSDHC memory cards with capacity up to 32
GB. SJCAM recommends using a brand name memory card, preferably with a CLASS 10 rang, in order
to have beer performance and reliability.
Aenon:Be careful when handling memory cards. Avoid touching the connector pins, and keep them
away from liquids, heat sources, dust and magnec objects. Do not insert or remove the memory card
while the camera is powered on. Consult the manufacturer’s specificaons and guidelines concerning
using the memory card in various or extreme weather condions.

Video Record Mode Icons
The baery charging symbol shows bars moving across a baery from le to right.
When all bars are full and stop moving it means that the baery is fully charged, or that the camera
is connected to the charger and is operang without a baery.
Icons appear only when OSD Mode is “On”. If OSD Mode is turned off then no icons appear on the
display except as indicated below.
When in default record mode, these icons are visible (starng at the top le corner):
Yellow circle and numbers: Record mode selected. The yellow numbers are the remaining video
recording me based on recording sengs and available memory. If the yellow circle is flashing,
switching between red and yellow,and red numbers counng up from00:00:00 show the recording
me for that segment. Yellow or red numbers are displayed shown in format HH:MM:SS.
White leers and numbers in a blue box: video resoluon and frames per second ( for example,
1080P30)
White arrow loop with number: shows the Cyclic Record me segments.
Microphone: audio recording is turned on.
Flashing circle only switching between red and yellow (when OSD Mode turned off): the camera
is recording video
Baery icon: indicates the approximate baery charge remaining. The icon has a plug symbol
within the baery icon to indicate that the baery is turned off and charging, or that the camera
is operang without a baery while connected to the charger.
Time: shows current me in 24-hour clock, HH:MM:SS. Time resets to 00:00:00 when the baery
is replaced.
Date: shows current date in format YYYY-MM-DD. The date resets to default when the baery is
replaced.
Octagon with leer F: Moon Detecon is turned “On”.
Key symbol: indicates the video is protected during Delete. CAUTION: this does not mean that the
video will not be deleted if you perform a format on the memory card.

Number and leer: image size in megapixels (for example, 12M).

Number (max of six digits): the number of photos you can take at the selected camera sengs with
the available remaining memory.
Yellow clock face with a number: Capture Mode with the selected me interval in seconds shown on
the clock face. If the clock face is red with a number, then the camera is taking photos in Capture
Mode at the me interval shown with the red numbers.

1080FHD for MOV files), or the image size ( for example, 2048X1536 for JPG files ) when reviewing
image content.
File name: a string of leers and numbers across the boom of the display. The file name can look
like this:
- YY_MMDD_hhmmss_XXX.MOV - for non-protected videos;
- MMDD_hhmmss_XXX_EVE.MOV - for protected videos;
- YY_MMDD_hhmmss_XXX.JPG - for photos.
Abbreviaons legend: YY = year, MM = month, DD = day, hh = hour, mm = minute, ss = seconds, XXX
= file sequence number, EVE = protected video, MOV = video, JPG = photo.
Key symbol: indicates the selected video is protected.
If the OSD Mode turned off, a Start and Stop icon appears at the boom of the screen. T he red
arrow icon appears when the “Shuer/Select” buon is pressed to play back a video. The blue pause
icon appears when the “Shuer/Select” buon is pressed to pause video playback.

The SJCAM M10 comes with several various modes. To browse through the modes, press the Power
buon repeatedly, unl you find your desired mode. The default mode when you turn on the camera is
the “Video Recording” mode. Pressing the Power buon will guide you through the “ Photo shoong”,
“Playback” and “Setup” modes. To select the mode, press the “Shuer/Select” buon.
The 12MegaPixel Pro-Grade CMOS Sensor, along with the 170 degree Wide Angle lens, 4x Digital
Zoom, Water Resistance of depths up to 30 meters, the Moon Detecon sensor and the “An-Shake”
Funcon will make sure you record every second of your adventure.
The camera can be operated without a baery if it is connected to an adapter. Note that the zoom
is electronic, not opcal. It operates by enlarging and cropping a recording or photo, not by adjusng
lenses. Make sure you've installed an adequately charged baery and a memory card with sufficient
remaining memory, before placing the camera in the waterproof housing.
The M10 lets you capture video in high resoluon 1080p at 30 fps (frames per second), by default.
Other available video resoluons include 1280x720 at 60fps, 1280x720 at 30fps and 640x480 at 60fps.
Use the “Sengs” menu to choose your video recording preferences.
With SJCAM M10, you will be able to produce a me lapse video, without using a separate, third
party device or soware. Use the “Sengs” menu to choose your me lapse preferences.
“Video recording” mode is the default mode when you turn the camera on. It is indicated by the
camcorder symbol in the upper le corner of the status screen. In order to start recording, press the
“Shuer/Select” buon. To stop recording, press the “Shuer/Select” buon again. The camcorder
symbol on the status screen will disappear.
Pressing the Mode buon while recording,will protect a video from accidental deleon.A key icon
will appear on the display. Pressing and holding the “Up” buon, will zoom in up to 4x. Pressing and
holding the “Down” buon will to zoom out.
Aenon: If your memory card is out of available space,or the baery is depleted,the camera will
automacally stop recording.
With the M10 you will be able to capture high resoluon 12MP images with superb quality and vivid
colors. Turn on the camera and select the Photo Shoong mode. This mode is indicated by the camera
symbol in the upper le corner of the status screen. Using the “Shuer/Select” buon, you can choose
between “Single Shot”, “Self-Timer” and “Connuous (Burst)” shoong.
To capture images, press the “Shuer/ Select ” buon. If you are in the “ Single Shot ” mode, the
camera will capture one frame. If you are in “Self-Timer” mode, the camera will capture an image with
a delay of 3, 5 or 10 seconds, depending on your preferences. If you are in the “Connuous ( Burst )”
mode, press the “Shuer/Select” buon to capture consecuve images with a speed of 3, 5, 10 or 30
frames per second.This mode is great for capturing moving targets,like sport figures, animals,speeding
objects etc. Pressing and holding the “Up” buon, will zoom in up to 4x. Pressing and holding the
“Down” buon will to zoom out.
Aenon: If your memory card is out of available space, or the baery is depleted, the camera will
prompt you that you will not be able to capture any images.
