TheSCT-1034 isanErnitectoBosch control code translator designedtopermitcontrolof Bosch
camerasfromErnitec VIP-1500 controllers. ItreceivesErnitecRS-485 commands and transmits
theappropriate commandsinBosch biphaseformat.Therearefour independentbiphaseoutputs.
Thebiphase outputcanbe limitedtofixed-speed-onlycommandsfor compatibilitywitholder Burle
receivers.
Inputandoutput connectionsaremade with matingscrewterminal connectors. FrontpanelLEDs
indicatestatusof power,receive,and transmit.
There is an optional 19" rack mount panel (one rack unit high).

SETTING THE SWITCHES
Tosetthe configuration switches,removethe
back panel, which is secured by two screws.
Then slide the cover back to expose the
switches.The switches canbechanged while
thecode translatorispoweredupandthenew
settings will take effect immediately.

TheRx indicator willflashwhenever thereisdatafromthe Erniteccontroller. Iftheinput lineshave
reversedpolarity, the Rxindicatorwillbe on solidly.Biphase codeisrepeating,so theTx indicator
will continue to flash while the camera is moving.
If you have Rx but no Tx, possible causes are:
The Ernitec code coming into the translator is not camera control code.
The Ernitec data out is not set at 2400 baud.
If the code translator is sending data and does not get a follow-up Ernitec command in about 12
seconds, it will time out and quit sending that stream of data.

OPERATION
Pan, Tilt, Zoom, Focus, and Iris commands are converted directly.
Ernitec Store and Recall pre-position commands are converted to Bosch Set and Shot com-
mands.
Aux 1 is converted toAux ON 1, which is interpreted by the Bosch domes asAutoscan (without
limits).
Aux 2 is converted to Aux ON 2, which is interpreted by the Bosch domes as Autopan (within
limits).
PAN &TILT SPEEDS
If the code translator is configured for fixed speed Bosch receivers, the Pan and Tilt commands
havenospeed value associatedwiththem.
TheErniteccontrollerdoes not send speed values forPanandTiltcommands.
Ifthe codetranslatoris configuredforvariable speedBoschreceivers,thecode translatorwillgive
aspeed valuetoPan andTiltcommands.Onpower-up, thedefaultis amediumspeed.Aux3 and
Aux 4 are used to change the Tilt speed value.Aux 5 andAux 6 change the Pan speed.
Eachtimeone of thoseAuxbuttons is pressed, asmallchangeis made to theassociatedspeed.
