Seiko G510 Quick start guide
= Precautions
For G510 caliber watches, as they incorporate a microcapsule-type
electrophoresis display module and employ a special case structure, all repair,
adjustment, and replacement must be carried out in Japan, with the exception
of replacement of “Urethane Safety Catcher” or batteries.
Battery replacement can be done only at Seiko Service Centres where the
Water-Resistance Tester S-451A is equipped.
As soon as you receive a request from a customer, immediately contact the CS
Department.
11) Loosen and remove the four “battery cover screws” (#7500920).
* Use sufficient force as adhesive is used for preventing the screws from
loosening.
Pay attention not to damage or scratch the case and battery cover.
The other 6 screws should not be touched.
Use a short screwdriver because the case shape is unusual.
Avoid diagonally inserting a long screwdriver because this will cause
damage to the screw head.

2 Remove the “battery cover.”
Remove the “battery clamp” (#4225544) using tweezers.3
4Replace the battery (CR2025)
When setting the battery, insert it diagonally from the side so as not to
bend the terminal spring.
Set the “battery clamp” correctly.

6Touch the two terminals beside the battery to create a short circuit for
resetting system.
* Refer to the instructions on the rear side of the battery cover.

* Confirm that the display shows <12:00>.
Apply a small amount of adhesive “LOCTITE 241” to the four screw
holes on the battery cover.
*First, remove any remaining adhesive before applying the new adhesive.
Set “gasket for the battery cover” (0G286BCA2).

* Be sure to use a new one.

* Apply grease as necessary.
Close the “battery cover.”

* Pay attention not to displace the “gasket.”
* You may put the “battery cover” below, and place the watch body onto
the cover.
*Dry the adhesive with the battery cover down under a temperature
of not more than 50°C.

Check that the display shows the time by pressing “button A” and the
calendar by pressing “button B.”

Ensure the non-water resistant level by use of the water-resistance
tester S-451A.
* Set the detector to the glass part in a similar manner as a normal
watch.
* In the case where water resistance cannot be determined, remove the
battery cover to reset the gasket and try again.
