Introduction

Thank you for choosing this shredder from Rexel. We are sure

it will serve you well, but please take a little time to read these

instructions to ensure you get the best out of your machine.

Safety First

• Ensure the machine is plugged into an easily accessible

power outlet.

• Please store this instruction manual in a safe place for future

reference.

• Please pay close attention to the safety symbols on the top of

the shredder and operate the machine accordingly.

• If the shredder needs cleaning, unplug the unit from the

power socket and use a damp cloth. NB. Do not use any

cleaning products to clean the unit.

• Do not position the unit near to an object that radiates heat.

• Do not place the unit in a damp environment.

• Take care not to splash any liquid onto the machine.

• Return the product and proof of purchase with receipt to the

store at which it was purchased if…

- The power cable or plug is broken.

- The machine malfunctions because liquid was accidentally

spilt onto the machine.

- The shredder doesn’t operate despite following the

guidelines in the manual.

• Make sure the power cable isn’t a trip hazard.

• Please ensure the power supply is compatible with the

requirements of the machine (230V~50Hz).

• To avoid risk of injury, do not open the machine’s casing to

attempt DIY repair. Any attempted repair by an unqualied

person will invalidate the warranty.

DO NOT attempt to repair shredder yourself.

Preparation before use

How to use the shredder correctly:

1 Take care not to insert ngers, ties or other objects into the

entry slot of the shredder.

2We recommend you remove staples and paperclips from

paper before shredding and avoid laminated documents,

plastic bags etc. from being passed through the shredder.

This will prevent damage to the cutters.

3Do not shred wet paper as it can tangle in the cutters.

4Do not shred more than the stated sheet capacity in one

pass.

5 Do not shred continuously for more than 3 minutes at a

time. Running the unit for too long may make the motor

overheat. If the motor over heats, allow it to cool down for at

least 30 minutes before resuming use.

6Do not use the reverse ()function if it’s not necessary.

Over use of the reverse ()function can result in

shredded paper becoming jammed in the entry slot, which

will adversely affect the performance of the shredder.

Correct operating procedure

1 Insert plug into the AC power socket.

2Check the shredder bin is fully closed.

3 Push the Auto button ( ), the shredder is now ready for

use.

Safety First

This means you should be careful because long hair can

become entangled in the cutting head.

This means don’t reach into the feed opening of the

cutting head.

This means be careful of ties and other loose clothing

which could become entangled in the cutting head.

This means keep children away from shredder.

This means be careful of loose jewelry which could

become entangeld in the cutting head.

This means no aerosols.

This means machine is cooling down.

Rare Occasions of Jamming

In the unlikely event of the shredder jamming, use the reverse

function to unblock the shredder (see Reverse function section).

Alternating between the reverse and continuous forward

functions will help unblock the feed area.

Over Heating

If this product is used continuously for long periods of time the

shredder may overheat. If this occurs the thermometer symbol

on the indicator panel will illuminate.

When the shredder is ready to be used again the thermometer

symbol will not illuminate.

Bin Full

Empty or compress the shredded paper when it reaches the

bottom of the viewing window. This will avoid paper spilling

over or difculty in removing the bin when it is too full. Over

lling the bin may cause the bin to jam.

Once the bin is empty, replace correctly or the shredder will not

function.

Lubrication of the Shredder

Only use Rexel Oil Sheets (2101948 & 2101949) to lubricate.

ACCO Brands accepts no liability for product performance or

safety when other types or brands of lubricants are used on any

part(s) of this machine.

Reverse Function

1 Should you wish to reverse the shredding direction whilst

shredding a document, a reverse button (f) has been tted

for your convenience.

2By pressing the reverse button the shredding cutters will

change direction allowing the retrieval of the document

being shredded.

3The reverse function will only run whilst the button is being

pressed. When the reverse button has been released the

shredder will revert to Auto mode.

CD and Credit Card Shredding

1 Insert CD to be shredded into the feed area (d).

2 A separate CD tray is provided to collect the shredded CD

shards. Ensure that this is correctly mounted onto the bin

before shredding CDs or credit cards. CD and credit card

shards should be disposed of separately to paper.

3 Empty the CD tray after 8 credit cards or CD’s to avoid

waste spilling over into the paper waste bin. Remove the CD

tray before recommencing to shred paper.

Operation

1 After unpacking the product, pull out the shredder bin and

remove the CD shard tray and store externally. Reposition

the CD shard tray when you shred CD’s to separate waste

for recycling.

2Connect shredder to mains supply.

3 Ensure the on/off button on the back of the machine is in

the on position (a).

4 To commence shredding, press the central Auto button (e).

This sets the shredder into auto mode. The standby symbol

will illuminate blue.

5 Insert paper (or credit card) to be shredded into the feed

area (c).

Guarantee

ACCO Brands warrants its products and their parts against

defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for a

period of 24 months from the original date of purchase.

During this period we will repair or replace a defective product

or part subject to the following warranty conditions:

The warranty applies only to defects in materials and

workmanship under normal use and does not extend to

damage to the Product or parts which result from:-

alteration, repair, modication or service carried out by

anyone other than an authorised ACCO Brands service

centre.

accident, neglect, abuse or misuse owing to failure to

comply with the normal operating procedures for a product

of this type.

Nothing in this Warranty shall have the effect of excluding the

liability of ACCO Brands in respect of death and personal injury

caused by the negligence of ACCO Brands. This Warranty is

offered (subject to these terms and conditions) in addition to,

and does not affect your statutory rights.

Additional Guarantee

ACCO Brands guarantees the cutting blades of the shredder to

be free from defects in material and workmanship for 7 years

from the date of purchase by the original consumer.

* Please note that the cutter blades will be progressively worn

down by shredding fastened sheets (staples and paperclips) -

this is not covered in the warranty.

These conditions shall in all respects be governed and

construed in accordance with English Law and subject to the

exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.

Australian Customers

This guarantee does not apply to Australian customers.

•Zajistěte, aby skartovačka byla zapojená do snadno

přístupné síťové zásuvky.

•Návod k obsluze si pečlivě uschovejte pro další použití.

•Věnujte pozornost bezpečnostním symbolům na víku

skartovačky a při práci se jimi řiďte.

•Je-li nutné skartovačku vyčistit, odpojte ji nejprve ze

zásuvky a otřete ji vlhkou tkaninou. Poznámka:

Nepoužívejte žádné čisticí prostředky.

•Neumisťujte skartovačku ke zdrojům tepla.

•Nepoužívejte skartovačku ve vlhkém prostředí.

•Dbejte na to, abyste skartovačku ničím nepolili.

•Skartovačku i s kupním dokladem a účtenkou vraťte zpět do

prodejny, v níž jste ji zakoupili, jestliže…

- je její napájecí šňůra nebo zástrčka poškozená;

- správně nefunguje, protože byla náhodně polita nějakou

kapalinou;

- nefunguje, přestože jste postupovali podle pokynů

uvedených v návodu.

•Zkontrolujte, že o napájecí šňůru nelze zakopnout.

•Zkontrolujte, zda zdroj napájení odpovídá hodnotám

uvedeným na přístroji (230V, 50 Hz).

•Neotvírejte kryt skartovačky a nesnažte se nic opravovat,

hrozí nebezpečí úrazu. Pokusí-li se o opravu přístroje

nekvalifikovaná osoba, zruší se platnost záruky.

NEPOKOUŠEJTE se skartovačku sami opravovat.

Správný postup používání

1Zapojte zástrčku do zásuvky elektrické sítě.

2Zkontrolujte, zda je odpadní koš řádně zasunutý.

Vzácný případ uváznutí

Dojde-li ve vzácném případě k uváznutí papíru ve

skartovačce, uvolněte jej s využitím zpětného chodu (viz část

„Zpětný chod“).

Přehřátí

Budete-li skartovačku používat nepřetržitě dlouhou dobu,

může se přehřát. Jestliže se to stane, rozsvítí se symbol

teploměru na indikačním panelu.

Až bude skartovačka opět připravena k činnosti, symbol

teploměru zhasne.

Příprava k použití

6Nepoužívejte funkci zpětného chodu ( ), pokud to není

naprosto nutné. Při nadměrném používání funkce

zpětného chodu ( ) může skartovaný papír ucpat

vstupní otvor, což nepříznivě ovlivní výkonnost

skartovačky.

3Stiskněte tlačítko automatického režimu ( ),

skartovačka bude připravena k činnosti.

Bezpečnost především

Upozorňuje, že byste měli být opatrní, protože dlouhé

vlasy mohou být vtaženy do řezací hlavy.

Upozorňuje, abyste nikdy nestrkali prsty do vstupního

otvoru skartovačky.

Upozorňuje, abyste dávali pozor na vázanky nebo jiné

volné části oděvu, které by mohly být vtaženy do

řezací hlavy.

Upozorňuje, abyste skartovačku umístili mimo dosah dětí.

Upozorňuje, abyste dávali pozor na volné šperky, které

by mohly být vtaženy do řezací hlavy.

Upozorňuje, abyste nepoužívali aerosoly.

Správné používání skartovačky:

1Do vstupu skartovačky nestrkejte prsty, vázanky ani jiné

předměty.

2Doporučujeme, abyste před skartováním odstranili

z papíru svorky a kancelářské sponky a abyste

neskartovali laminované dokumenty, plastové sáčky

apod. Zabráníte poškození nožů.

3Neskartujte vlhký papír, řezací nože se jím ucpou.

4Nesnažte se skartovat najednou víc listů, než je uvedená

kapacita.

5Neskartujte déle než 3 minuty bez přestávky. Při delším

provozu se motor může přehřát. Jestliže se motor

přehřeje, nechte jej nejméně 30 minut vychladnout, než

budete pokračovat v práci.

Uvolnění uvázlého papíru pomůže přepínání chodu vpřed

a vzad.

Plný odpadní koš

Mazání skartovačky

Provoz

1Až skartovačku vybalíte, vytáhněte odpadní koš, vyjměte

zásobník na zlomky CD a uložte jej mimo skartovačku.

Zásobník na zlomky CD vraťte zpět, když budete

skartovat disky CD, abyste je oddělili od odpadu pro

recyklování

2Zapojte skartovačku do zásuvky elektrické sítě.

3Zajistěte, aby vypínač na zadní straně skartovačky byl

v poloze ON (Zapnuto) (a).

4Skartování zahajte stisknutím prostředního tlačítka Auto

(e). Skartovačka přejde do automatického režimu.

Indikátor pohotovostního režimu se rozsvítí modře.

5Vložte papír (nebo kreditní kartu) určený ke skartování do

vstupního otvoru (c).

Zpětný chod

1Budete-li chtít při skartování dokumentu obrátit směr

chodu, můžete použít tlačítko zpětného chodu (f), jímž je

přístroj vybaven.

2Stisknutím tlačítka zpětného chodu se řezací nože

začnou otáčet opačným směrem, takže budete moct

vytáhnout částečně skartované listy.

3Zpětný chod funguje, pouze držíte-li tlačítko stisknuté.

Jakmile tlačítko uvolníte, skartovačka se přepne do

automatického režimu.

Skartování CD a kreditních karet

1Vložte disk CD určený ke skartování do vstupního otvoru (d).

2Pro úlomky CD je určen samostatný zásobník. Než

začnete skartovat CD nebo kreditní karty, ověřte si, že je

správně instalován na koši. Zlomky disků CD a kreditních

karet by měly být likvidovány odděleně od papíru.

3Zásobník na úlomky CD vyprázdněte po skartování

8 disků CD nebo kreditních karet, aby se zlomky

nedostaly do koše na papír. Před návratem ke skartování

papíru sejměte zásobník na zlomky CD.

Plný odpadní koš

Vyprázdněte nebo zmáčkněte skartovaný papír, když

dosáhne spodní části kontrolního okénka. Předejde se tím

vysypání papíru nebo problémům s vytahováním příliš plného

koše. Pokud se koš přeplní, skartovačka může přestat

pracovat.

Vysypaný koš vraťte zpět řádně, jinak skartovačka nebude

pracovat.

Mazání skartovačky

Pro mazání používejte pouze olejovací listy Rexel Oil Sheets

(2101948 nebo 2101949). Firma ACCO Brands nenese

žádnou odpovědnost za výkonnost nebo bezpečnost

přístroje, pokud bylo na jakékoli jeho části použito jakékoliv

jiné mazivo.
