INTRODUCTION
Congratulations on your purchase of the Integra double action water lter.
Rena Ware’s Integra double action water lter integrates the ltering power of both
ceramic and carbon block technologies into one attractive, sleekly designed unit,
perfect for convenient counter-top use. The Integra will improve the quality of your
home water supply, providing you and your family with fresh tasting, economical,
ltered water via its advanced, two-stage ltering process:
Stage 1: A cleanable ceramic outer shell mechanically removes contaminants
including pathogenic bacteria and coliforms and signicantly increases the life the
activated carbon block.
Stage 2: An inner activated carbon block works like a sponge to absorb and reduce
chlorine, lead, tastes, and odors.
The Integra has a rated capacity of 10,000-15,000 liters or between 31 and 47
months. Actual capacity will depend on the amount of suspended solids and
particles in your local water system and the frequency with which you clean the
ceramic outer shell of the Double Action Cartridge. In certain water supplies, tastes
or odors may return or the ow may decrease prior to the rated capacity. In these
cases, the cartridge should be cleaned and replaced more often.

SETUP
1. Remove all contents from the
shipping box, discard packing
materials, and compare box contents
with the packing diagram to make sure
all items have been received (Figure 1).
2. Unscrew the
cartridge from
the base housing
by holding the
base securely
and turning the
black plastic
screw knob in a
counterclockwise
direction. Pull
straight out
(Figure 2). Inspect
the cartridge
carefully to
ensure it has
not become
damaged during
shipment. Note:
The cartridge is
fragile and
should always be
handled gently.
3. After checking the cartridge, reinsert
it into the base housing and screw
it in carefully by
turning the black
plastic screw knob
clockwise until
hand-tight. Do not
over-tighten.
4. Insert the spout
into the hole at the
top of the black
plastic screw knob.
Push down rmly
until is properly
seated (Figure 3).
5. Remove the existing aerator from
your faucet using padded or locking
pliers (Figure 4).
6. Thread the Integra’s diverter valve
onto the end of the faucet. Hand-
tighten only! Do not over tighten as it
could damage the threads (Figure 5).
7. If the diverter valve does not thread
onto the faucet properly, use the
universal faucet adapter (included).
Simply screw the diverter valve into
the threaded section of the universal
faucet adapter and then push the
rubber section of the adapter onto the
end of your faucet (Figure 6). Secure
the adapter by positioning the adapter

surface near the sink. With the spout
pointing into the sink, turn on COLD
water and divert the water through the
lter by turning the diverter valve handle
clockwise 90° (Figure 7).
9. Check for any leaks. To stop the
ow through the lter, turn off the faucet
or turn the diverter valve handle in the
opposite direction.
10. Resume owing cold water through
the lter for approximately ve minutes
to expel excess air and any loose
particles. For best results, always
allow water to ow through lter for
5-7 seconds before using water. After
sitting overnight or after several hours
of non-usage, run water through the
lter for 15 seconds before using.
MAINTENANCE
Clean the exterior of your lter using a
damp cloth and mild, non-abrasive dish
washing soap. Rinse off with warm
water and towel dry.
Cleaning the Double Action Cartridge
1. To prolong the life of your lter, clean
the cartridge whenever the water-
ow falls below an acceptable rate.
Note: Take sanitary precautions when
handling the soiled components of your
lter. We suggest using thin, waterproof
gloves.
2. Over the sink, unscrew the cartridge
from the base housing by holding the
base and turning the black plastic
screw knob in a counter-clockwise
direction. Pull out the cartridge. Drain
water out of the base housing and set
aside.
3. Dampen and then scrub the cartridge
with a nylon or plastic scouring pad
until the cartridge returns to its original
white color (Figure 8). Rinse thoroughly
in cold water. Discard or save the
scouring pad for the next cleaning of
the cartridge. Due to contamination do
not re-use for anything else.
Note: Never use soap or detergents
when cleaning the cartridge!
4. Reassemble the lter.
TROUBLESHOOTING
1. Water is not coming out of the
spout...
• Check to see that the diverter valve
is in the open position (Figure 7).
• Be sure the tubing is smooth and
straight without any kinks.
• Inspect the cartridge to see if
it has become dirty preventing
water from owing properly. If this
is the case, clean the cartridge.
(See “Cleaning the Double Action
Cartridge” in the Maintenance
section of this manual).
2. Water leaks from the base
housing...
• Hand-tighten the cartridge until
water stops leaking.
3. Water leaks from the tubing...
• Check the tubing for cuts or nicks.
If a portion of the tubing is leaking,
it must be replaced.

Lubricating the Diverter Valve
Over time, a diverter valve may lose its
lubrication and become more difcult
to operate. To improve the operation,
place a small drop of silicone lubricating
gel or petroleum jelly, e.g. Vaseline® at
the points shown (Figure 9). Turn the
valve handle back and forth several
times to spread the lubricant to all
moving parts.
