ventilated area where it can draw a steady supply of fresh air. The arrows below show
an example of locations for air intake on an engine.
Pumps are water cooled. When the machine is running, ensure the trigger of the gun
is pressed to allow a constant ow of fresh water into and out of the pump. Do not let
the machine run for more than 30 seconds without pressing down on the trigger.
axial pump
triplex pump
Most pumps are protected by a thermal valve. The thermal valve releases water if a
pump starts to run too hot. It will prevent catastrophic heat failure. However, the pump
may have suffered damage and need maintenance, repair, or replacement. If it does not
reset and continues to leak water, the thermal valve may need to be replaced.

WARNING
Fuel and its vapors are extremely ammable
and explosive.
Fire or explosion can cause severe burns or death.
When Adding or Draining Fuel
• Turn pressure washer OFF and let it cool at least 2 minutes before removing fuel
cap. Loosen cap slowly to relieve pressure in tank.
• Fill or drain fuel tank outdoors.
• DO NOT overll tank. Always allow space for fuel expansion.
• If fuel spills, wait until it evaporates before starting engine.
• Keep fuel away from sparks, open ames, pilot lights, heat, and other
ignition sources.

• When starting engine, pull cord slowly until resistance is felt and then pull rapidly
to avoid kickback.

• Firmly grasp spray gun with both hands when using high pressure spray to avoid
injury when spray gun kicks back.

Some chemicals or detergents may be harmful if inhaled or ingested,
causing severe nausea, fainting, or poisoning.
