Chapter 1. Introduction
1.1 Safety Precautions
xAll safety instructions should be read and understood before the unit is operated.
xThe owner’s manual and safety instructions should be retained for future reference.
xUnplug this unit from the wall outlet before cleaning. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners. Use a damp
cloth only.
xKeep away from wet, magnetic, and flammable surfaces or substances.
xAlways use the correct external power supply (indicated on the product label) when operating this unit.
xThis unit may be equipped with a 3 wire grounding-type plug - a plug having a third (grounding) pin.
This pin will only fit in to a grounding type power outlet. If you are unable to insert the plug in to the
outlet, contact your electrician to replace your obsolete outlet.
xAir vents should be kept clean and unobstructed at all times.
xPlease refrain from using frayed power cords and damaged wall outlets.
xDo not place any heavy objects or equipment on top of the unit.
xTo prevent electrical damage, TURN OFF the power to this unit before inserting or removing
INPUT/OUTPUT slot cards.

1.4 Product Introduction
The new HX Series HDMI Integrated Matrix Routers provide switching options for up to eight (8) HDMI
inputs to any eight (8) HDMI outputs, and feature PureLink’s legendary EDID/HDCP Management System,
consistently praised by system integrators as the most reliable in the industry. Together with full HDCP,
4k2k, and HDMI v1.4 compatibility and PureLink’s uncompromising design and manufacturing standards,
the HX-8800 delivers unparalleled quality and value.
Matrix Switching for up to 8 HDMI™ Inputs to any 8 HDMI™ Outputs
PureLink’s HX Series routers are available in the following models and configurations: HX-4200-U (4x2),
HX-4400-U (4x4). HX-8200-U (8x2), HX-8400-U (8x4), and HX-8800-U (8x8)
Supported Resolutions
HDTV resolution up to 1080p @ 60Hz, and UHD (4K2K)
PC resolution up to 1920x1200 @ 60Hz
HDMI v1.4 Compatibility
Full 3D & 48-Bit Deep Color support, 7.1 Channel Dolby TruHD & DTS MasterHD
Control Options:
