Your Scooter desi n combines the most advanced state-of-the-art components with modern, attractive stylin .

We are certain that the desi n features and trouble-free operation will add convenience to your daily livin and

ensure complete satisfaction.

At Pride, your safety is important to us. Please read and follow all of the instructions in this manual before

you attempt to operate your Scooter for the first time. These instructions were produced for your benefit.

Your understandin of these instructions is essential for the safe operation of your new Pride Scooter.

Pride is not liable for dama e to property or personal injury arisin out of the unsafe use of a Pride Scooter. Pride

is also not liable for any property dama e or personal injury arisin out of the failure of any person and or/user to

followin the instructions and recommendations set forth in this manual or any other instructions or recommendations

contained in other Scooter related literature issued by Pride or contained on the Pride Scooter itself.

It is imperative that you read this entire manual and understand all of the safety precautions before you attempt to

operate your new Celebrity for the first time.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

nDo not leave the key in the switch when your Celebrity is unattended.

nMake certain that the seat is locked into place and that the key is removed from the key switch before ettin

on or off of your Celebrity, and make certain that the seat is in a locked position when you are operatin your

Scooter.

nReduce your Celebritys speed when you are operatin it on uneven terrain, soft surfaces, and around a

corner.

nProceed with extreme caution as you approach the down rade of a ramp or incline and when drivin near a

raised surface or unprotected led es and drop offs (kerbs, porches, stairs, etc.).

nUse extreme caution when operatin your Celebrity on busy streets and in parkin lots or shoppin malls.

nKeep your hands on the tiller and your feet on the floorboard when you are operatin your Celebrity.

nMake certain that the tyres are properly inflated (30 psi).

nMake certain that your Celebritys batteries are properly secured when you are transportin your Scooter in

another vehicle.

nDisconnect your Celebritys batteries if you will not be usin your Scooter for more than 48 hours.

nBattery posts, terminals and related accessories contain lead and lead compounds. Wash hands after handlin .

II. SAFETY

WARNING! Do not expose the electronics to any type of moisture (rain, snow, mist, or wash) at any

time. uch exposure can damage the electronics.

Never attempt to ride a cooter that has been exposed to moisture until it has dried thoroughly.

Do not operate or store your cooter where it may be exposed to inclement weather conditions

such as rain, snow, mist, and below-freezing temperatures (such as storage on an outside car/van

lift). Attempting to operate your cooter in such conditions can damage the electronics and

potentially result in loss of control.

Do not operate your cooter in icy or slippery conditions or on salted surfaces (i.e., walks or roads).

uch use may result in an accident, personal injury, or adversely affect the performance

and/or safety of your cooter.

Always protect batteries from freezing temperatures and never charge a frozen battery.

This will damage the battery and may cause personal injury. Charging a battery in freezing

conditions does not prevent the battery from freezing.

As you be in to use your Celebrity durin your daily activities, you will encounter situations that may require some

practice. Simply take your time as you operate your Scooter and you will soon be in full and confident control as

you maneuver throu h doorways, on and off of elevators, up and down ramps, and over moderate terrain.

DOORS

nDetermine if the door opens toward or away from you.

nUse your hand to turn the knob or push the handle or push-bar.

nDrive your Celebrity slowly forward to push the door open; or drive your Scooter slowly backwards to pull

the door open.

ELEVATORS

Modern elevators have a door-ed e safety mechanism that, when pushed, reopens the elevator door(s).

nIf you are in the doorway of an elevator when the door(s) be in to close, push on the rubber door ed e or

allow the rubber door ed e to contact your Scooter to reopen the door.

nUse care that pocketbooks, packa es, or Celebrity accessories do not become cau ht in the elevator doors.

RAMPS AND OTHER INCLINES

More and more buildin s have ramps with specified de rees of inclination, desi ned for easy and safe scooter

access. Some ramps may have turnin switchbacks that require you to have ood cornerin skills on your Celebrity.

nTake wide swin s with your Scooters front wheel(s) around any ti ht corners. If you do that, the rear wheels

will follow a wide arc and will not cut the corner short, bump into, or et hun up on any railin corners.

nWhen drivin down a ramp, keep your Celebritys speed adjustment dial (see IV. Description) set to the

tortoise (slowest speed settin ) to ensure a safely controlled descent.

nAvoid sudden stops and starts.

Other inclines may be natural or, if man-made, not desi ned specifically for scooters. Fi ures 1 and 2 illustrate your

Celebritys stability and its ability to climb rades under various wei ht loads and under controlled testin conditions.

Controlled incline testin was conducted with the Celebritys seat in the hi hest position, adjusted backward on the

seat base to the farthest rearward position. These tests show that your Celebritys ability to travel up inclines is

affected by your wei ht, your Scooters speed, your an le of approach to the incline, and your Scooter setup.

When you approach an incline, it is best to lean forward. See fi ures 3 and 4. This shifts the center of ravity of

you and your Celebrity toward the front of the Scooter for improved stability.

II. SAFETY

CAUTION! Do not exceed the incline guidelines or any other specifications presented in this

manual.

DRIVING SURFACES

Your Celebrity was desi ned to provide optimum stability under normal drivin conditions  dry, level surfaces

composed of concrete or asphalt. However, Pride reco nizes that there will be times when you will operate your

Scooter on surfaces other than concrete or asphalt. For that reason, we also desi ned your Celebrity to perform

admirably on packed soil, rass, and ravel.

nFeel free to use your Celebrity safely on lawns and in park areas.

nAvoid tall rass that can entan le the runnin ear.

nPacked soil, ravel, driveways, or roads will not present a problem for your Celebrity.

nAvoid loosely packed ravel and sand.

nIf you feel unsure about a drivin surface, avoid that surface.

Your Celebrity is an indoor/outdoor motorized electric scooter desi ned to enhance your personal mobility. It was

desi ned to travel primarily on smooth surfaces such as sidewalks, roads, parkin lots, floors, and driveways. For

easy transportation or stora e, you can disassemble your Celebrity into seven components. See fi ure 6. To

decrease the rear section wei ht or to char e your batteries while your Scooter is disassembled, you can also

remove the utility tray and its subcomponents from the rear section. For further information on disassembly, see

VIII. Disassembly and Assembly. For further information on char in your batteries while your scooter is

disassembled, see V. Batteries and Char in .

CONTROL CONSOLE ASSEMBLY

The control console assembly located on the front section houses all of the controls you need to operate your

Celebrity. See fi ure 7.

IV. DESCRIPTION

SEAT

CAUTION! Do not expose the control console assembly to moisture. In the event it does become

exposed to moisture, do not attempt to operate your Celebrity until it has thoroughly dried.

Tiller Adjustment Lever

This lever allows you to adjust the tiller between the forward stop and the scooter deck. For tiller adjustment

instructions, see VII. Comfort Adjustments.

Power Seat Switch (Optional)

If your Celebrity is equipped with a power seat, this switch enables you to raise and lower the seat. For power seat

adjustment directions, see VII. Comfort Adjustments.

WARNING! trict adherence to the following safety rules is vital:

nDo not attempt to raise or lower the seat while the Celebrity is in motion!

nAdjust the power seat only when your Celebrity is level and stationary!

nDrive the vehicle only with the seat in the lowest position!

nDo not operate your cooter with the power seat elevated!

Speed Adjustment Dial

This dial allows you to preselect and limit your Celebritys top speed.

nSet the speed between the slowest (ima e of the tortoise) and the fastest (ima e of the hare) speed settin s.

Key Switch

This switch enables you to power up and power down your Celebrity Scooter.

nFully insert the key into the key switch to power up your Celebrity.

nPull the key out to power down your Celebrity.

Left and Right Turn Signal Buttons

Use these buttons to turn on the left and ri ht turn si nal (amber) li hts.

nPush the appropriate turn si nal button once to illuminate the si nal li ht prior to turnin your Celebrity. Your

Celebritys turn si nals are timed to shut off automatically.

Throttle Control Levers

These levers allow you to control the forward and the reverse speed up to the maximum speed you preset on the

speed adjustment dial. For instructions on how to operate your Celebritys throttle control, see VI. Operation.

Horn Button

This button activates a warnin horn.

nEnsure the key is fully inserted into the key switch and push the horn button to sound the horn.

Hazard Light Switch

This switch enables you to control your Celebritys front and rear (amber) hazard li hts.

nTo le this switch to turn the hazard li hts on and off.

Light Switch

This switch enables you to control your Celebritys headli ht and runnin (rear red) li hts.
