PopPulse T150
Class-T Stereo Amplifier
USER GUIDE
1. Introduction
Congratulations on purchasing a PopPulse t150 Class-T stereo amplifier.
Thanks to it utilising advanced Tripath technology & audiophile grade parts, the t150 is able to easily achieve the
sonic performance of traditional high-end amplifiers, but in a compact, affordable and efficient little unit.
Based around the Tripath 2022 IC, this amplifier is much more powerful, dynamic and musical than most other t-
amps that commonly use the 2024 IC.
With a power output of up to 77 Watts RMS per channel, the t150 has sufficient power to drive most hifi speakers
with total authority.
2. Features
•Uses Tripath technology for audiophile quality sound
•Up to 90% efficient. Hardly generates any heat!
•No start-up pop!
•Audio grade parts used throughout including an Alps RK27 volume pot and Elna capacitors.
•Powered directly from the mains via it’s oversized internal toroidal transformer.
•Volume control can be bypassed via an internal jumper (for use with a pre-amplifier)
•Monoblock bridgeable for up to 150 Watts RMS output through setting an internal jumper (stereo use
requires two identical T150 amps).
•XLR mono input (for use when using two bridged t150’s as monoblocks)
•Over-current protection
•Thermal protection
•Uses Audiophile parts and components
•Housed in a top quality metal case with a very classy, thick aluminium front facia plate. Provides
excellent shielding from electronic interference.
Technically the XLR input is stereo but not true balanced. Think of it as a mono
XLR input for when two t150 amps are setup in bridged mode as monoblocks..
3. Overview

4. Getting Started Guide
•Carefully unpack amplifier
•Observing correct polarity, attach left and right speakers to the left and right speaker terminals. The use
of banana plugs (not supplied) is highly recommended and makes hooking up speakers very easy.
•Plug audio source into the left and right RCA sockets (don’t switch on audio source yet)
•Plug the supplied AC power lead into the IEC power socket on the rear of amp (do not turn mains power
on just yet)
•Make sure that the volume control is turned down fully.
•Switch on the mains power and using the power switch on the amplifier back panel, turn on the amplifier.
The blue power LED on front of amplifier should light up.
•Play audio source
•Turn up volume to a suitable level
•Enjoy!

7. Troubleshooting Checklist
•Make sure AC power lead is plugged into mains. The other end should be plugged into the IEC socket on
rear of amplifier. Switch on mains.
•Make sure amplifier is switched on.
•Make sure music is playing and the volume is not turned totally down.
•If volume control is not working, make sure that the internal jumper is not set up to bypass the volume
control.
•If volume knob is grinding and rough to turn, gently pull volume knob forward slightly to restore smooth
operation.

8. How to bypass volume control (for use with a pre-amp)
Recommended Tools
•
A good Philips head screwdriver.
•
A pair of tweezers or needle nosed pliers.
•Make sure AC power lead is unplugged!!
•
Using screwdriver, Gently remove the 5 case screws and slide the top casing towards the rear of
amplifier until removed.
Default factory setting (“integrated” amplifier mode)

The black wires (attached to a molex header) need to be
gently unplugged from the main board as below

Gently unplug the audio signal wires (also attached to a
molex header) from the underside of the volume control
PCB circuit.
Gently plug the audio signal wires into the main PCB.

Volume control is now bypassed!

9. Bridged mode (converts amplifier to a monoblock).
Recommended Tools
•
A good Philips head screwdriver.
•
A pair of tweezers or needle nosed pliers
For stereo bridged operation, 2x t150 amplifiers will have to
be used and setup in a similar way.
The picture below is how to set the jumper to operate the
t150 in bridged mode with the volume bypassed.
This will be the most useful mode for those wishing to use a
pair of t150s as monoblocks.

A pre-amp or sound source with variable output level is
needed to control volume levels when amps are setup in
this mode.
If the user wants to setup two t150s in bridged mode but
does not want the volume controls bypassed, the
configuration is the same as the default setting (first
picture) except that the jumper is set across 2-3.
Inputs and Outputs to use whilst t150 is operating in
bridged mode
The mono XLR input could also be used instead of the RCA
input
