PNGD Advisory notes
1. Please note PNGD may require up to 20 minutes to locate GPS when used first time. This is due to
cold booting, if the PNGD is not used for a week or longer, subsequent use within this period will be in
hot booting thus will acquire GPS signal within couple of minutes.
2. For optimum GPS signal acquisition, where possible install the PNGD at the centre of windscreen, rear
view mirror can be used as guide.(GPS signal acquisition could be adversely affected by sensors in
close vicinity, please find suitable alternative location).
3. GPS signal could be adversely affected by metal coated windscreens in vehicles, electronic
device/sensor and wireless door lock. Following vehicles are known to have metal coated window
screen.
1. BMW : 3, 5 and 7 Series. BMW X5
2. Citroen : Picasso, C5, Xsara, Xantia
3. Ford : Galaxy. Mondeo
4. Fiat : Multipla
5. Mercedes : W220-s Class, Vaneo, E-Class 2004
6. Peugeot : 206, 306, 307 and 607
7. Renault : Traffic, Laguna, Clio, Kangaroo, Scenic, Espace, Master, Safrane
8. Saab : 9-5 2004
9. Vauxhall : Astra, Zafira, Vectra
4. ConvertedAVI files require codec MP4 media player
1. File format of ESF(recording file) is H.264
5. SD Card must never be removed or inserted while the PNGD is powered ON.
6. IMPORTANT: PNGD PC viewer must be installed on your PC which has a local hard drive.
User should copy folder name of “PNGD PC Viewer” on the CD manual and paste this folder to
the PC. Any attempt to execute this software on a CD will cause not function properly due to all
configuration setting value may not be saved.
7. Please check your version of PC viewer and upgrade to latest version at http://www.pama.com.
You can easily be upgraded to latest feature and capabilities for optimize performance of PNGD.

Precautions
Responsibility
•The vendor cannot be held responsible for any loss of data or damage to the unit arising from misuse or
product being used for other than intended purpose.
•Drive recorder is intended to provide audio and visual evidence in an unfortunate case of an accident
but does absolve drive of responsibility to others.
•The quality of recording and length cannot be guaranteed.
Caution in using the SD memory card
Turn off the power when inserting or removing the SD memory card!
•In general, the memory card has it’s own product life cycle. Memory card will not last forever, prolong
usage may cause problem with recording new data, in this instance save all files to your PC or Laptop
and then format the card if this does not resolve the problem then you may need to replace the SD Card.
•This is not a defect just a normal wear and tare on SD Card hence not covered under warranty.
•Do not store the SD Card where high humidity exists.
•Do not expose to magnet.
•Do not remove the SD Card from Drive Recorder while connected to power source or recording. This
will cause data loss and could cause corruption error, Vendor will not be held responsible for any data
loss.
•Please save any important data onto other devices such as PC/Laptop hard drive, CD, Flash drive or
any other portable memory.

Features
Video recording
1. Video recording in general
Records all video data (according to preset options) of rear/front side of the car when ignition is turned
ON.
2. Records video and audio in case of an accident.
In case of an accident, the built in G-sensor will automatically detect an event and save the recordings
in a separate folder, this will enable easy identification of recording.
3. Manual Emergency Recording
Allows manual recording discretely by pressing the Emergency button.
4. Parking mode recording
Parking mode recoding allows you to record video for 1 minute after the engine has been turned off or
for predetermined length of time set. Recorded video will be saved in a separate folder.
5. Safe off mode
Record the video for 1 minute when the engine is turned off. Ensure recording after the event for
predetermined time. Power provided by built in battery.
6. Privacy mode
Driver can choose to turn off the camera manually (front or rear) and the voice recording to protect
the privacy of the passenger.
7. Infrared sensor
Built-in infrared sensor will enable recording inside the vehicle at night times.
8. JPEG image capture
Support the “capture and JPEG image save” from the video moving picture data.
9. AVI file support
Recorded data can be converted to AVI format using the program provided for sharing, AVI can be
played by media player supporting codec H.263 format. In case no video is played back please
download media player compatible with H.263 format.
10. Video output
Support theAV-Out for theAV-In (standard jack) enabled device like PMP or GPS Navigation.
1. GPS data
Location/velocity and date/time.
2. G-sensor information
Sudden acceleration, sudden stop, deep curve and sudden impact or shock during the driving.
Playback data
Playing or replaying the recorded driving data (video & sound) and can easily be converted and saved into JPEG
or AVI file using the provided software.
When the SD memory card is full, the existing recorded video data will be erased and overwritten over
oldest recording (first-in first-out) bases. Please copy important data to other storage devices before the SD
card is full.

Safety notice
Please read and observe the safety guide lines to protect the product from physical damage or loss of data.
! Do not operate or make any adjustments whilst driving. Please maintain full control of vehicle and observe
safe driving practices.
!Do not breach road speed restrictions for your safety and safety of others.
! Do not install the Drive Recorder in such a location where it may hinder your view, obstruct air bags or
camera's.
GPS signal receive
! For optimum GPS signal install the Drive Recorder while the vehicle is parked out in the open, garage
building or other such locations may cause a weak or no GPS signal to be detected.
Following situations will adversely affect GPS signal.
•Unit being covered by solid object such metal box etc...
•Metal sun shade film on the front side window of the car.
•Other electromagnetic wave generating devices in the vehicle which will impact on the GPS signal. For
example wireless engine starter, a certain type of MP3 or CD player, GPS speed gun detector, etc..
•Enclosed spaces such (in the middle of high rise building, bridge, tunnel, underground parking area,
etc…)
•Weaker GPS signal will take a longer for the PNGD to locate the current position.
•Cold booting may occure, when PNGD has not been used for over a week or longer may take longer to
locate GPS signal.
Product storage and operation
!The operational temperature is -20~70°C.
Please do not exceed the stated temperatures.
The storage temperature is -35~85°C. Long time storage at the high temperature may damage the battery.
!Use the components provided.
Vendor is not responsible for any problems arising due to using unauthorised components.
!Do not disassemble, modify or attempt to repair.
Vendor is not responsible for the problems caused by above actions.
!Do not use water or other chemical fluids to clean the product.
This may cause the electric shock, malfunctions or fire.
!Do not crush or put a heavy items onto the product.
This make cause serious malfunctions and is not covered under warranty.
!Do not change the location of the product frequently.
This may cause the low quality recording data.
!Strong sun screen film will cause the dim recording result or distort the image.
Check the video recording result first before beginning a journey.
!The video recording will be affected inside the tunnel, strong back light and dark night.
!Turn off the power when inserting or removing the SD memory card. Failure to do this may result in damage to
recorded data.

Parts description
PNGD front view
(1) IN CAMERA Camera to record the inside of the vehicle.
(2) Infrared light Allows recording inside the vehicle at night.
(3) POWER LED
Indicates the power ON status of the Drive Recorder system.
Describe the activity status of the Event record, Manual record,
Reset, Upgrade.
(4) IN CAMERA LED Indicates the ON/OFF status of internal camera..
(5) AUDIO LED Indicates the inside audio recording status - ON/OFF.
(6) GPS LED Indicates the GPS signal status.
(7) EMERGENCY button Start the manual recording mode.
(8) AUDIO button Turn ON/OFF microphone for privacy.
(9) IN CAMERA button Turn ON/OFF the inside video recording.
(10) POWER Manual ON/OFF switch.

PNGD – rear view
(1) OUT CAMERA For external front view recording
(2) OUT CAMERA LED Indicates the ON/OFF status of the external camera.
(3) RESET button Reset the PNGD..
(4) SD memory card slot Slot for the SD memory card.
(SD memory card should be inserted before starting ignition .)
(5) Power button
ON/OFF the main power of the Drive Recorder system.
(The manual ON/OFF may not work when preset recording is in
progress.)
Cigar jack power cable
(1) DC OUT Power cable for the DC out. 5VDC/500mA
(2) AV O U T AV cable port to connect to the other PMP,

Installation
Precaution
Please read and observe the following safety steps.
•Turn off the engine and remove the vehicle key before beginning installation.
•The cigarette jack power only should be connected to input DC 12/24VDC tip is + polarity.
•Hard wire installation (continuous power cable connection) professional installation recommended, no
liability will be assumed by vendor or manufacturer for any fault or damage arising as a result.
•Plan carefully routing of all cables and position of camera's.
•Ensure air bags are not obstructed or driver vision and safety is not compromised, all wires are tucked
away safely and neatly.
PNGD Assembly
1. Parts required.
2. Insert din plug into back of PNGD as below. Connecting the (“constant power line cable” into the car
emergency light of the car fuse box is optional) PNGD will operate normally without constant power
line cable connection, unless required to record on standby mode.

3. Insert the SD memory card as shown below.
4. Secure mounting holder to PNGD as shown below. Securing bolt must be inserted from designated end
to avoid skipping when tightening.
5. Ensure cable is not trapped and does not obsecure external camera.
Select the suitable location (not to hinder the driver’s vision) and attach the PNGD securely using the
provided sealing 3M tape.
Insert the power adapter into vehicles cigarette socket, securely route the cable avoiding air bags and
be careful not to obscure drivers vision. For further suggestions see below.
PNGD can be dismounted when not in use, please note mounting sticky pad is not to be detached.
