You are now the proud owner of an O’BRIEN inatable. It has been designed to
provide exciting “on the water” fun for you, your family, and friends. This tube is
constructed of the nest materials, and assembled to rigid specications. We hope
you enjoy you product for many seasons to come. BEFORE YOU BEGIN USING

Watersports can be safe and fun for all levels of enthusiasts. The Operator’s Manual is presented to
enhance your enjoyment of the sport. It is intended to alert you to some of the potentially dangerous
conditions that can arise in all watersports.
To reduce the risk of injury or death, follow these guidelines:
• Carefully read this manual and follow the instructions.
• Only use your tube with a responsible watercraft operator who knows how to operate a watercraft
properly.
• Take all reasonable precautions in the use and operation of your tube and boat.
• Teach anyone using your tube how to attach it to the rope, how to ride it, and how to maintain it.
• Use a single tube for not more than one rider and no more than two riders for a double tube. Do not
exceed the manufacturer’s recommended number of riders for your particular tube.
• If the tube is designed for more than one person, take extra precaution to avoid colliding with one
another.
• The stress on the rope is different from the stress on the tube, and will vary with the weight of the
passengers, design, and surface area of the tube.
• Never strap or attach anyone to the tube or cover. Never put your feet or hands through the strap-
ping of the towing system or handles. Never wedge your hands or feet under the cover or between the
cover and the tube.
• Never attempt jumps or dangerous tricks with your tube. If more than one tube is being towed,
avoid collisions with other tubes.
• Scout the area before use to avoid any debris or obstacles that might present a safety hazard.
• Know your own limits. Stop when you are tired. Act responsibly. Be in good physical condition and
be cautious in your use of this or any other towable tube.
• Check the rope and connector for frays, cuts, sharp edges, knots, or wear before each use. Discard
rope if any such condition exists or if rope appears to be worn. Such conditions may lead to breaks.
• Do not use tow rope with elastic or bungee material to pull skiers or riders. Such an addition can
break or stretch which may lead to injury of users or boat occupants.
• Rope is subject to deterioration when exposed to direct sunlight. The life of the product will be
extended when stored away from sunlight.
• The tow rope should be replaced when signs of deterioration appear, indicated by the existence of
discoloration, wearing, fraying or raveling.
• Do not add hardware or attachments that are not otherwise supplied by the manufacturer.

• Do not use at speeds that exceed skills of the rider. Boat speed should never
exceed 20 mph for adults and 15 mph for children.

• Watercraft driver should avoid excessive speed or sharp turns which might cause

boats.
• Do not exceed the manufacturers recommended number of riders for your particu-
lar tube.
• Use a tow rope of at least 1500 lbs. average tensile strength for pulling a single
person, 2375 lbs. average tensile strength for pulling two people, 3350 lbs. aver-
age tensile strength for pulling for three people and 4100 lbs. tensile strength for
pulling four people on an inatable tube. The tow rope should be at least 50 feet in
length but not to exceed 65 feet.

WATERSPORTS SAFETY CODE
Watersports are fun and challenging but involve inherent risks of injury or death.
To increase your enjoyment of the sport and to reduce your risks, use common
sense and follow these rules:
Before you start:
• Familiarize yourself with all applicable federal, state and local laws, the risks inher-
ent in the sport and the proper use of the equipment.
• Know the waterways.
• Always have a person other than the driver as an observer.
• Skier/rider, observer and driver must agree on hand signals.
• Never start out until skier/rider signals he/she is ready.
• Carbon Monoxide (CO) poisoning from engine exhaust may cause injury or death.
Do not sit on the boat transom or boarding platform while the engine is running.
These activities may lead to excessive CO exposure which may cause injury or death.
If you can smell engine exhaust while in the boat, do not stay seated in that position
for prolonged periods. Never “Platform Drag” by holding onto the boarding platform
or be dragged directly behind the boat. An improperly tuned engine will produce
excessive exhaust. Have your engine checked and corrected by a mechanic. Chang-
ing boat speed or direction relative to the wind can reduce or increase boat exhaust
from accumulating near the boat and rider. Consult your boat Owners Manual, or the
United States Coast Guard’s website: www.uscgboating.org for more information on
how to help protect others and yourself from the dangers of CO poisoning
• Use caution and common sense.
• Do not exceed the weight guidelines of your boat. Only use water ballast and people
for additional weight. Do not allow passengers to hang outside the boat or sit on the
gunwales outside the normal seating area of the boat. Uneven weight distribution or
additional weight may affect the handling of the boat. Never allow water to overow
the gunwales of your boat.
Your equipment and your tow rope:
• Inspect all equipment prior to use. Check bindings, ns, tube and attachment point,
and otation device prior to each use. Do not use if damaged.
• Always wear a U.S. Coast Guard Type III (PFD) Life Jacket.
• Rope should be attached to the watercraft in an approved fashion with hardware
designed for towing. Refer to your watercraft manual for instructions on proper tow
rope attachment.
• Tow ropes stretch during use. If a rope breaks or is suddenly released, it can snap
back into the watercraft. Warn all riders, skiers and occupants of the danger of rope
recoil.
• When in the boat, keep away from the tow rope to avoid injury. Passengers can be
hit, or become entangled in the rope.
• Inspect tow rope and its attachments before using. Do not use tow rope if frayed,
knotted or damaged. Replace when signs of excessive deterioration are indicated by
discoloration, broken laments, unraveling or other obvious signs of wear on the rope
or hardware.
• Use proper tow rope for the activity.
• Ensure tow rope is clear of all body parts prior to starting out or during use.
• Keep persons and ropes away from propeller when engine is running, even in
neutral. Should rope become entangled in propeller, SHUT OFF ENGINE AND
REMOVE IGNITION KEY BEFORE RETRIEVING ROPE.
When you ski or ride:
• Attempting land or dock starts can increase the risk of injury or death. USE THIS
PRODUCT ONLY ON WATER.
•Always remove any slack in the rope between watercraft and skier/ rider before start-
ing. Sudden shock loads may cause injury to skier/rider or failure of rope, resulting in
snap-back or breakage.
• Do not ski or ride in shallow water, near shore, pilings, docks, rafts, swimmers, other
boats or other obstacles. Such obstacles are examples of risks that are inherent in the
sport.
• The driver and skier/rider must watch for and be able to stop or turn to avoid ob-
stacles.
• Always ski or ride in control and at speeds appropriate for your ability. Ski or ride
within your limits. Do not ski or ride over ramps or jumps without prior instruction.
• Falling and the injuries that may result are inherent risks in the sport.
• Use a ag to signal to others that a skier or rider is in the water.
• Driver must use extra caution approaching a fallen skier/rider and keep eye contact
on fallen skier/rider at all times.
• Put the boat in neutral when near a fallen skier/rider. Turn the engine off when
people are getting into or out of the boat, or in the water near the boat.
• Do not operate watercraft, ski or ride under the inuence of alcohol or drugs.
THE WARNINGS AND PRACTICES SET FORTH ABOVE IN THE WATER-
SPORTS SAFETY CODE REPRESENT SOME COMMON RISKS ENCOUN-
TERED BY USERS. THE CODE DOES NOT PURPORT TO COVER ALL
INSTANCES OF RISK OR DANGER. PLEASE USE COMMON SENSE AND
GOOD JUDGMENT.

INFLATION AND ASSEMBLY
Begin by inserting the tube into its cover (when applicable) and aligning it as well as
possible. When there are multiple air chambers inate the smaller push-in valve(s) rst
and the large, screw-in (Boston) valve last. To inate your tube, use any high volume,
low-pressure inator. Your O’BRIEN dealer can direct you to the O’BRIEN 12-volt
inator or any of the many foot pumps or hand pumps that are available. Some of the
O’BRIEN inatables come with large Boston valves that may be lled using either the
pumps referred to above or your local gas stations air hose. When included, you will
nd it under the top cap of the large screw-in valve.
A towable tube comes with either a “Quick Connect” hook tting a webbing strap or
a section of rope at the towing end of the tube. These are for connecting your towline.
Be sure the line is connected securely. Check it regularly between rides to avoid the
dangers of a sudden disconnect.
MAINTENANCE OF YOUR TUBE
After use, clean debris from your tube by wiping it off or spraying it with fresh water.
This is especially important if it has been used in salt water, or in an area where there
has been exposure to oil or gasoline.
Never use harsh detergents to clean the tube. If you need more than water, use dish-
washing detergent or a similarly mild cleansing agent.
Dry your tube and store it DEFLATED, in a cool, dry area. Storage in a very cold
area could result in cracking of the vinyl tubes.
REPAIRS
Your tube is made of very durable materials; but you may get an occasional puncture.
A repair kit is included with your O’BRIEN tube. To patch your tube, take the follow-
ing steps:
1. Clean the area around the hole to remove any foreign matter. Mild detergent should
sufce.
2. Cut a patch (round or oval shaped) from the patching material included in the repair
kit. The patch must be somewhat larger than the hole.
3. Apply thin layer of glue to the patch and the area around the hole. Allow the glue to
set on each for about 1 minute.
4. Position the patch over the hole and press down rmly on a at surface. Remove
any trapped air by rubbing the patch from the center outward.
5. Wait 24 hours to reinate your tube.

Utilisation de votre gonable tractable
Votre gonable a été dessiné pour être tracté derrière un bateau. C’est un sport excitant
mais qui peut aussi être dangereux. Comme dans tous les sports, la mauvaise utiliza-
tion ou le non-respect du materiel peuvent résulter dans les blessures ou même la mort.
Soyez conscient des risques et n’utiliser votre gonables que si vous acceptez des
risques.
Soyez responsable, en bonne forme physique et soyez soigneux dans l’utilisation de
votre tube ou tout autre engine tractable.
Précautions à prendre pour les pilotes de bateaux
1. Assurez vous que votre tractable est bien attaché à la corde de traction. Attacher
la corde à l’attache rapide du bateau et eu nœud qui est à l’avant du gonable. Avant
de tracter verier plusieurs fois que ces attaches sont bien rélisées et sécurisées. Un
à coup soudain pourrait être dangereux pour la personne sur le gonable et pour les
occupants du bateau.
2. Utiliser une corde qui a une résistance sufsante pour tracter le gonable. A cause
de sa forme particulière le tractable offer plus de résistance à la traction que le ski nau-
tique. Nous recommandons donc que vous utilisiez une corde spécique à la traction
des gonables. Mais surtout n’utiliser jamais une corde qui soit élastique. Le retour
rapide d’une telle corde pourrait avoir des consequences graves pour l’utilisateur du
gonable et pour les occupants du bateau. Votre revendeur O’BRIEN peut vous con-
seiller utilement dans le choix de votre corde. Vérier avant l’utilisation que la corde
est en bon état. La remplacer si elle est endommagée. La corde doit avoir au moins
15m de longueur sans toutefois dépasser 25m.
3. Observer les memes règles de sécurité que pour la pratique du ski nautique, un pas-

4. Tracter le gonable à une vitesse raisonnable et en tout état de cause ne pas dépasser
la vitesse maxi de 36km/h pour un adulte et 25km/h pour un enfant.
5. Le pilote a la responsabilité du contrôle de la traction du gonable. Il doit éviter
les rochers, les pontoons, les autres bateaux et autres obstacles qui pourraient blesser
l’utilisateur.
Précautions pour l’utilisateur
1. Il est clairement marqué sur votre gonable qu’il est utilisable par une seule
personne ou par deux personnes. Les « Le Tube » sont clairement dessinés pour ces
utilisations. Quand vous utilisez un tube pour deux personnes, prendre des précautions
supplémentaires an d’éviter des collisions entre les deux utilisateurs. Il y a particu-
lièrement un risque de collision entre les deux têtes ou d’autres parties du corps.
2. Ne pas faire des sauts, des gures dangereuses quand vous glissez sur votre gon-
able. Ne jamais démarrer en glissant sur un ponton ou d’une surface hors de l’eau. Si
plusieurs gonables sont tractés en même temps utiliser les mêmes longueurs de corde
an d’éviter les collisions.
3. Les utilisateurs ne doivent pas attacher ensemble les protections en nylon des gon-
ables. Ne jamais mettre les bras ou les jambes sous le système de traction du gon-
able. Ne jamais mettre les bras et les jambes sous la protection en nylon de la partie
gonable.
4. Les utilisateurs doivent maintenir leurs jambes au-dessus de l’eau. La force de l’eau
si vous entrez en contact avec elle lors de la traction peut vous déséquilibrer et vous
blesser plus ou moins gravement.
5. Ayez conscience de vos propres limites. ARRETEZ VOUS LORSQUE VOUS
VOUS SENTEZ FATIQUE.

GONFLACE ET ASSEMBLAGE
Commencer en insérant le tube dans sa housse (s’il y en a une) En l’alignant aussi bien
que possible. Quand il y a plusieurs chambres de gonage commencer par goner la
plus petite, puis la plus grande, (celle avec la valve de type Boston) ensuite utiliser
un goneur à grand volume d’air. Votre revendeur O’BRIEN peut vous vendre un
goneur électrique 12 volt adapté, mais n’importe quel goneur à pied fera l’affaire.
Certains modèles de gonables O’BRIEN utilisent des valves de type pneumatique
que vous pouvez goner dans une station service.
Votre gonable est parfois livré en série avec une attache rapide, une triangle en V
cousu sur le gonable et une corde adaptée pour la traction. Vérier bien la bonne con
nection de l’ensemble au bateau. Vérier fréquemment l’état de ce système de traction
an de prévenir tout détachement intempestif.
ENTRETIEN DE VOTRE GONFLABLE
Après utilisation, nettoyer les diverses saletés de votre gonable en le brossant ou
mieux en le passant à l’eau fraîche. C’est particulièrement important s’il a été

Ne Jamais utiliser de détergents agressifs pour nettoyer le gonable. Si l’eau fraîche ne
suft pas, utiliser des produits de lavage doux du type de ceux qui sont employés pour
la vaisselle. Sécher le gonable et stocker le dégoné, dans un endroit sec et tempéré.
Le stockage dans un endroit très froid pourrait résulter dans de craquelures de la partie
en vinyle.
